A strong cardboard envelope looking like a case file contains many sheets of A4 paper, a fold out detective βpinboardβ and other smaller documents. There are no physical items but there is plenty of information to work through!!! Fingerprints, photos, interviews. The lot! It really feels like you have been handed a real case file.

There is an online element to this game. Internet sites, voicemail recording, Facebook accounts and the hint system is on the website too. Youβll also need to use your phone! The story is extremely convincing and really feels immersive. There are plenty of suspects, but you will also need to work out the motive and other answers to complete the investigation.
There arenβt exactly βpuzzlesβ to be solved in these types of games - itβs more about piecing together the facts and slowly whittling away what isnβt true or important to reveal the facts of the case and working logically through the information. With that said, I think the level of difficulty was pitched just about right for anyone 14+ to take on.

Anyone who loves detective/cold-case based adventure games would love this. We played as a three but you could play solo or with up to about 6 players comfortably with everyone examining different information. Of course you can only play this once as then you know the outcome, but it can be easily gifted or shared with others as long as you donβt write on anything. A very enjoyable plot and just the right amount and depth of detail to make you think, but allow you to work through to find the killer. Should you need a nudge, there's hints available to help along the way. There are other cases available in native German but are being converted to other languages over time, I canβt wait to play the next one!
(If you do decide to try this game, please remember to let them know that you heard it from"ESCAPETHEROOMers"!)
