Our fourth stop in Honolulu is at Room With a Clue. They are located in the Nimitz complex. The best way to get to the escape room is by going all the way to the end of the parking area, there's a ramp that goes up to the second floor. Go up the ramp and drive down until you see an area that you can turn left into, the escape room will be located to your right. There's plenty of parking up there. The lobby is cozy as they don't have much space but have a total of three rooms currently with a fourth one in the works. The owner builds everything in house and we were very excited to try this "Stranger Things" TV show inspired room theme - "A Strange Case".

The story starts in a little town in the 1980s where strange cases of children beginning to vanish starts and as investigators we were sent by a mother of the last missing child to discover if we can find anything in his house for clues. There was a lot of puzzles that was cleverly designed that stuck with the 1980s times frame. I have to say, there were definitely some items in there that I was too young to remember but at least my "old" husband was able to recognize. Our rating on the puzzle difficulty level was based on 2 people as this room definitely have a lot to do and we would recommend a total of 4. Having someone with 1980s knowledge would also make the room a bit easier but without it it's definitely doable. There were definitely a few design aspects we really liked that we don't want to give it away and they were able to use the space of the room very well. Not much red herrings as pretty much what you see had to be utilized.

We liked how they stuck to the storyline till the end. We really enjoyed their game and speaking with the owner and we can't wait to go back! Check out our youtube video above for a sneak preview on the interview and room designs!
