Below are our thoughts on the 3 games.

Game: Escape From Extinction Island

Genre: Adventure

Difficulty (based on 3 players): 5.5/10

Time: 60 Minutes

Story: We were working together on a top secret project with our mentor Professor McDougall. There's a man-made island called Extinction Island (near Mongolia) that breed Dinosaurs using fossilized bones. One day, the professor sent us a SOS video saying that the Dinosaurs all broke loose and we needed to get him out of there ASAP!

We played this game with our cousin (who's also an escape room enthusiasts ) as a team of three. The game started with an intro video from the professor. We really enjoyed all of the interactive videos by Clue Cracker Games (although some actual Dinosaur footage would've made my day...). The actors were very professional and most importantly, "hilarious". They made the game come to live. This also eliminated a lot of reading. After hundreds of digital games played, we felt that audio and visual ones are more stimulating than text ones.

If you just started to try out these digital escape games, we definitely recommend starting with this one. The puzzles were shorter and easier. They had a very nice flow and all the puzzle logic were clear and to the point. As enthusiasts, we finished the game in about 30 minutes. This was a nice warm up for the games to come. Mission 1 : Success!

Game: The Haunting of Harlequin House

Genre: Horror

Difficulty (based on 3 players): 6.5/10

Time: 90 Minutes

Story: We are proud owners of the Harlequin House. Little did we know there's already a "guest" there. Will we be able to find out the truth behind this mystery from the clues left for us by an entity from another world? We'll see...

We played this game with our cousin (who's also an escape room enthusiasts ) as a team of three. The game started with an intro video from our lovely real estate agent. After he happily dumped this haunted home to us with a "good luck" wave, we started the game.

This game was our favorite out of the three. The puzzles and videos made us felt like we were actually searching room to room in this huge creepy mansion. I have to admit, I closed my eyes a few times in the game. My teammates found that really amusing. They took this opportunity to replay the video (claiming they didn't see the clues clearly) just to see me turn into a scaredy-cat again. There were definitely a few scenes in there that were "memorable" even after the game. We liked how there were no repetitive puzzle types from their games and all of them were very closely tied with the story. There was one puzzle we thought we needed outside knowledge and had to semi guess one of the digits for the answer. Our favorite moment was definitely one of the video puzzles. It was very clever.

If you paid attention to their description of the game on their website, you'll discover a huge clue. Do remember to jot down all your answers from the beginning to the end. We always appreciate a nice meta puzzle to give a strong finish to a game. With the 3 of us, we finished in about 65 minutes or so. Mission 2 : Success!

Game: Fairground Felony

Genre: Mystery

Difficulty (based on 2 players): 6/10

Time: 90 Minutes

Story: We were very excited when we heard the news that Faskin's Fairground was coming to town. When we got there, the entire circus was not running. Someone had sabotage the fair and we were their only help to escape from this creep!

A circus themed game! How fun! We've played a few digital games in this genre and so far this one was one of the best ones we've seen. Once again an entertaining intro video from the villain started us on our journey. Besides the videos, we really loved the graphics for this one. They were very colorful. Kids in particular would enjoy this game over the other two. The puzzles felt a bit easier than the Harlequin House but varied in types. We played this game with just the two of us. We had a little debate over one of the puzzles based on the visuals and eventually had to use a clue. We finished around 70 minutes or so. Mission 3: Success!

Now patiently waiting for Mission 4....

(If you do decide to try this game, please remember to let them know that you heard it from"ESCAPETHEROOMers"!)
