This digital escape game had a really cool concept. It was build on a time travel theme based on real life events. As we solved each puzzle, a portal would open up and take us to another era. From there we would have to solve another puzzle in order to alter the past for a better future. The game started off a bit slow for us as it had a good amount of reading and there was one puzzle that would probably take some time for new players (you'll probably need to print this page out if you are unable to do it on the computer). If there could be an option to incorporate a prerecorded reading to read each character's story in different eras, it would make the digital game feel more immersive. As we started to grasp the game design, it became more enjoyable. There were many variations of puzzles and we were glad they mixed the level of difficulty from one puzzle to another. This way, we were able to take a breather in between. One puzzle in particular gave us a good laugh and because of this, you got our vote!

Type of Game: DIY Escape Kit

Genre: Action

Date Played: 6/16/2020

Difficulty (based on 2 players): 6/10

Size of Team: Unlimited

Time: Unlimited

Price: £10 Digital Version/ £15 DIY Version

We've been recruited to steal the Grand Diamond inside a high security bank. Once you purchased the game you'll receive several PDF files: self guided hints, setup guide, low ink version (we printed about 10 pages and the other ones we're able to visualize), color version and an answer sheet.

There were a total of 8 puzzles and several of them required cutting and visualization. Our favorite puzzle was the last puzzle as we enjoyed assembling the "tool". The puzzles were not very difficult so they could definitely be attempted by new players. We liked how the self guided hints were subtle but if you didn't get it, you were able to refer to the detailed answer sheet that will wipe away any confusion. We've played games where the hint system didn't help at all and you only received a solution but no explanation. Props to the company on making such a comprehensive solution packet. If you wanted to host this game as a "At Home Escape Game", the set up guide made it very easy to follow and there is even an online link where you will be able to check answers while hosting!
