Escapology is going to have a remote escape experience soon! We've recently beta tested their "Cuban Crisis" game which is being hosted at the Las Vegas location.

We were CIA field operatives and our mission was to infiltrate Fidel Castro's palace, locate the secret KGB office, and found out who was responsible for shooting down the American plane.

This was the first remote escape room we saw using the the split screen inventory in the zoom app. It was quite useful to not have to toggle through different tabs and to be able to have zoom open to a full screen (if you are using a single device). The only downside was that only one item was able to be shown each time. So, if you wanted to take a look at another item, the game master will have to swap it out for you. It still worked fine throughout the game but hopefully Escapology would be able to come out with a solution where multiple items could show up all at once. The camera also felt a bit shaky but since this was beta testing, we hope the issue would be fixed during the actual launch.

The game consisted of a good amount of puzzles and kept us busy for almost an entire hour. Most of the puzzles stuck to the story line of war related theme. There were many decoding opportunities and we were very glad to have a "real" agent with us who can decode without looking at the "cheat sheet"! One of the puzzles didn't feel like it belonged and was quite confusing to us so hopefully that will get revised when the game launches. We've always enjoyed Escapology's professionalism as a company and have played many of their on site escape rooms. We hope to see more remote escape room ideas come to live from them!

*** We regret to inform this game is no longer available for booking but check out other games on their website***

(If you do decide to try this game, please remember to let them know that you heard it from"ESCAPETHEROOMers"!)

Disclosure: We thank Escapology Escape Rooms (Las Vegas) for inviting us to beta test this game. Although a complimentary experience was generously provided, it does not impact our opinion on the review whatsoever.
