Working at a park that houses man eating dinosaurs sounds like it should have really good back up security…until a crazy storm takes out the power. The generator thankfully survived but with a battery power of only 60 minutes you need to work fast to get the electricity back up and running before it’s too late…especially with that T-Rex looking hungrily at you.

The game provides a little written introduction to the game before you are placed into a Telescape-like space with 360 degree views of the room. Each player can access the game using the login link from your confirmation email but you will all have individual games running, which means when one person advances, the others will not until they also solve the puzzle. The room contains number locks, key pads, and chests that need unlocking to move forward. You can zoom in to inspect things closer and add items to your inventory to use for later. This game also contains audio clues so make sure your sound is on.

There is a hint system but, unfortunately it was not in English, so we were able to use it. We also found some of the game did have issues with translating to English and handling items being moved around which required a restart for one player.

The puzzles in this game had a good variety of logic, pattern recognition, decoding, and more. There were some fun little nods to the original Jurassic Park and dinosaurs in general but you don’t need any knowledge to complete the puzzles. A keen eye and ear is really all you need to solve these games. A couple puzzles didn’t feel like puzzles, more like activities which makes me consider this a game for more novice players to break off the game. I also felt the ending was a little lacklustre as a puzzle. That said, I found the locked pads and boxes to be fun and give me a little ‘aha’ when I clued in exactly what I needed to find.

"Jurassic Escape" provides a quick and straightforward puzzling experience for players looking to relax or for new players looking to test the waters. I appreciated how you can play this again and again so there’s no pressure to rush. If you’re someone who likes little dinosaur easter eggs with some traditional puzzling, this is a game to check out!
