Your adventure into Wonderland has been a delight as you followed the white rabbit, met with the Cheshire cat, and spoke to the talking flowers… but as more time has passed, you realize all is not what it seems to be in Wonderland. It appears the land is dying after the magic ingredient has been stolen. In order to save Wonderland before it is too late, you must find the missing ingredient and say its name before Wonderland is gone forever!

"Saving Wonderland" follows a similar setup to all Telescape games. Once you receive the link, you log on and click start to begin. While the estimated time to complete this game is one hours, you do have up to 72 hours to complete the game with your game code which will save any data of your adventure. This means you can play it all in one go or break it up into chunks. The link can be shared with multiple devices and you will all be in the same space, which means once one party member has solved a puzzle, all members will see that. There is a game tutorial introducing how Telescape works that will play at the beginning that I found cheesy but informative for beginners. As mentioned in my previous review on Prestige’s other game - "Amnesia", I wish that there was a way to skip forward after already watching this in the last game.

Players will have access to an inventory throughout the game that will be displayed on both sides of the screen for easy viewing, alongside the hint button (a “?” mark symbol). When you have finished with a puzzle, the item will vanish from the inventory and a “used” symbol will appear over the puzzle in the room to let you know you no longer need to do anything. The gameplay follows the traditional Telescape experience so for anyone who has played online escape rooms with Telescape, you should be good to go to start this game. If not, the company has you covered with a detailed tutorial.

The puzzles in "Saving Wonderland" consisted of a series of letter and number locks you need to solve in order to access hidden portions of the room. I found this room a little trickier than the previous room, because they were able to hide quite a bit around the room. My favourite part was finding these hidden components and making the connections for the perfect “aha” moment. Our group did run into an issue where we didn’t know if some of the clickable hotspots were clues or puzzles or were just opportunities to examine the artwork (this room has beautiful murals from Disney’s "Alice in Wonderland" in it). Generally, the puzzles led to letter or number locks and we found it strange that the letter locks often did not create any words. Some of the puzzles in this game require a lot of time and patience, so keep in mind that you have more than an hour. Our group took about an hour and five minutes to complete with 6 players.

"Saving Wonderland" is a game that I would recommend to someone who enjoys at-home game experiences with challenging puzzles and a chance to really take in beautiful artwork. At the same time, this style of game feels like something you will see everywhere as the theme and story weren't really drawn out. Unless you read the room’s bio before you start, you don’t really know the goal of the room as it’s not re-introduced in a Telescape except for the written bio. This game harkens me back to early escape rooms and for anyone wanting that nostalgia, "Saving Wonderland" might be right for you!
