Starting up the game, the first section gave us a short tutorial on how to interact with the interface before entering the game. The game also has a built-in video communication system so we did not need to have Zoom or Google Hangouts open while playing. Once in the game, the room and surrounding area can be navigated in a 360 view. If you are familiar with Google street view, this would be very similar. In the game, we were all synced together so if someone opened a lock or found an object, everyone would see it in their inventory or if a puzzle was solved, the cutscene would automatically play for everyone. There was also an update feed on the corner that told us when anyone did anything significant such as open a box or find a useful items which then allowed us to call on that person and ask “How did you do that?” It did take a few seconds to load as we moved from point to point which was noticeable so make sure to close programs you are not using on your computer while you are playing.

There were some interesting twists and turns which made for an interesting story. Since we saw a 360 view of the room, the set looked very immersive from all angles. The cutscenes were also high quality and helped progress the story well especially showing us as we moved from location to location.

The linear puzzles gave an in-person escape room feel as we had to find items and use them properly or read what we found and use that information. We also had to input the answer into simulated digit locks or use the key with the digital lock. The way the interface was set allowed everyone to participate in the solves. As we progressed through the game, it was helpful that items we had already used were removed as well as some items we were not ready to solve did not allow us to interact with them.

There were a couple puzzles that seemed to point you to a certain correct answer but we were still not fully convinced why it was the right answer. If we were to offer some advice, you can zoom into the environment to take a closer look at items that do not show up in your inventory. Keep that in mind. As well, make sure to communicate with your team. Some of you may get different items along the way.

This was a fun horror game to play at home that was not too scary. The interface takes a puzzle or 2 to get used to but after a couple solves, we easily got the hang of it. The cutscenes was good quality and fun to watch. As a warning, there was one part that had flashing strobe lights that could trigger seizures for people with photosensitive epilepsy. We played with 5 people and felt this was a good number to allow everyone to participate. More and you might find yourself talking over each other a lot. If you need a good team game to play online, this is a solid choice.
