Your team finally got some new intel on a hideout location for the notorious gem thief you've been chasing for awhile now. Clock is ticking and you have to find the evidence in Room 118 in order to put this perpetrator away for good. Are you ready for the biggest case in your career yet?

This game is a point-n-click game played over the Telescape platform. We met on StreamYard and used that as our communication portal. Once we entered the platform, we're able to see each other's cursors. This game is synced in the sense that if one player collects an item or opens a lock, it'll update automatically for the other players.


We started the game with an intro video followed by game rules. Be sure to read that carefully as we made the mistake of skimming through it and didn't realize that the cell phone in the game is actually for hints. The cell phone does ring during the game but that's just to give updates on the storyline (which was what got my attention and started looking at the functions in the phone). The "text" area is where you'll receive nudging hints until you get the actual solution. So during the game play, I thought I was receiving clues for puzzles from our agent headquarters until one of the players called out that those are actually hints. Good thing this was discovered quite early on and we only spoiled one puzzle solution.


We've played a good amount of digital Telescape game by now but there's still minor differences between various companies on their designs. For this game, there's no text that we need to enter to combine the items. We like this design better as it made things more immersive and easier to operate. All you have to do is simply click and drag items that belong together over the same spot in the inventory box.

As we were able to roam freely on our own in this 360 view digital space, our team quickly separated and tackled on different puzzles as individual. This is one of the shortcomings that can't really be avoided in Telescape. You're not going to be able to solve every puzzle and you might even miss some puzzles if some players were solving it while you're in a different area. Our suggestion is to announce to your team what you're about to put in as a code and let them understand which clues you're using to solve this puzzle. It's best to progress as a team. This will avoid the confusion in the latter parts of the game as only that particular player would know what was used and what still remains to be utilized.


There were interactive puzzles where we're able to rotate, drag and connect items that we've collected. It's best to assign one player to be the clicker and all the other players can still watch and contribute ideas. We found that it's counterproductive to have everyone click at the same time.


This is a 90 minute room IRL and the owner already warned us before starting the game that the play time could be quite long. Just as we thought we were done, we would discover more places and puzzles. Since we are all enthusiasts, we are super happy for long periods of play time so there's absolutely no complains on that part. Our team finished in 1 hour and 14 minutes with one unintentional hint (my bad!). The ending was my favorite part of the game. We loved feeling the urgency from the countdown clock. We really felt the pressure and it was like we're there in real life.

Beverley Breakout used a lot of the tools in Telescape that we haven't seen used before to create some really fun puzzles. Although this game is quite long comparing to some of the other digital games we've played, the hour really just flew by when we were having so much fun. All I can say is, towards the end of the game we're all yelling "pinch, pinch!!!" on the top of our lungs. I was laughing so hard tears were coming out of my eyes. This is a memory you'll never forget!
