📖 THE STORY
After hearing the legend, you are your group are off searching for the treasure that Moctezuma hid from the Spanish. Once in the jungle, you are your group have become captured and locked away in the pyramid of Mictlantecuhtli. You only have 60 minutes to free yourselves, find the treasure, and escape before the death god's curse ensnares all of you.
🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE
The first room had an element that added to the immersion and entertainment of the overall experience.
There were a couple of fun reveals found in the story and some puzzles that made us “Ooo!” as we progressed.
Some of puzzles offered eurekas that made us question what we needed to do and say “Wow! Do we really get to do that?”
The room had high-quality props with exciting secrets hidden in some of them. The room was also decorated and setup like an Aztec temple with the stony feel and foliage.
The puzzles were signposted and clued well. We found there was very little down time or moments we were stuck as we progressed through the game.
🧩 MISSED THE MARK
Though the room had some lighting, the experience could have benefited with an additional flashlight.
🏹 TAKE A SHOT?
"Aztec Origin" was an enjoyable game with a high-quality set and top-tier props. All the puzzles were themed to the story and some puzzles offered up some great eureka moments. The clues were given in both English and Spanish which was helpful for us tourists. We played with 2 people but feel this game could be played with up to 4 people and still allow everyone to enjoy everything together. Anyone who is interested in Aztec history or loves a great set would enjoy this room. This was a great game for a small group to get out of the sun while in Puerto Vallarta.
