Once you purchase the game, you'll receive a link to the Telescape platform. Once you login, the game will begin with a very detailed explanation of how to use this digital platform. This is the most organized automated Telescape game explanation and hint system we've seen so far, It actually gives you a video tutorial. The game also provided us with a lock list where we were able to keep track of what has been opened and what's still locked. The hint system is per puzzle so once you solve the puzzle, that hint will no longer be available. You're able to click go to the hint section and click on the specific hint you need for a particular puzzle.

Don't be expecting the fancy set design of an actual escape room for this digital game as this is previous a portal game designed by Fuzzy Logic Escape Room. All your focus should be on puzzles. The entire game play is in front of a table and your goal is to open all the boxes.

🆃🅷🅴 🅿🆄🆉🆉🅻🅴🆂

The game is mostly linear but there were a few occasions that your team can solve 2 or 3 puzzles at the same time. The puzzles were quite easy and some solutions were right in front of our eyes. Since all players can type in the solution box and the game is synced for all the players, make sure to update the other players before typing a solution. This way you'll proceed at the same time and everyone will be on the same page. We had an issue with one of the puzzles as it felt ambiguous but since the solution was very specific we had to use a hint for that one (Update 2/20/21: The owner has informed us that this puzzle will be corrected so you may not encounter this issue when you play the game in the future).

If you are a beginner puzzler and don't really care about the fancy graphics but more just on the satisfaction of opening locks and solving puzzles, then you might want to start with this case and help Sherlock clear his name! Once you feel like you've leveled up as a detective, there are plenty of cases waiting for you to solve at Fuzzy Logic that's a bit more challenging!

The escape room started with a short video narration about the issue at hand - Sherlock has been framed and his dear friend, Dr. Watson, has to rescue him. We were taken to a room of evidence full of various bags, and other paraphernalia set on top of a table and so the puzzles began. This escape room uses telescape live. I liked that there was a menu bar that had links to the view of the room, the puzzles, the locks, and the timer. It was easy to navigate and I liked that the puzzles would have check marks next to them once a puzzle was completed. Items were also automatically removed once they were used and unnecessary. This telescape live-format escape room made it easy for players to view the puzzles on their own screens and try to crack them. It made for a very real escape room-like experience. It also gives the option for the teams to work together on parts of the puzzle as well with this format. There were many puzzles with references to the Sherlock Holmes world including letters, photos and maps which were done creatively. They ranged in difficulty, from the obvious to the ones were creative. One was slightly confusing. There was a great sense of accomplishment every time the unlock sound effect played. I would recommend the room overall and it was very family-friendly.
