We have finally arrived in the beautiful city of Dubrovnik, Croatia! Words cannot describe how amazing the city walls are in the Old Town. It's no wonder "Game of Thrones" chose to film a lot of their episodes here. So you can imagine how excited we were to find out that there’s also an escape room here! It's the only escape room company in town and they have a "Game of Thrones" inspired game called “Save King’s Landing”! What are we waiting for? Uber is wildly used here and it’s much cheaper than a regular taxi. The buses will probably end up being more expensive than an Uber if you have a group of people. So, we decided to use Uber to get around everywhere since it's such a small city.

As we entered the lobby, there was a small waiting area that has some pretty cool décor from the actual set designs of the movie “Robin Hood” (2018). Currently, they have two games at this location. Other than the one we’re trying today, they also have a room called “Secret Treasures of Dubrovnik” which teaches you the culture and history of the location while you solve puzzles. Unfortunately, we only had time for one room... so in we go! The storyline is derived from the "Battle of the Blackwater" scene where our mission (much like Tyrion Lannister) is to find and use the Wildfire to save King's Landing. We can not fail our fellow citizens! As we enter the room, we felt transformed into the GOT era and became knights that have to defend the safety of our kingdom. The props used were quite authentic especially a really unique one that we’ve never seen before. The lighting and ambience along with the music made the room feel very dungeon-like. The room was quite linear so it’s great for a smaller group as you will have to solve the puzzles together in order to move on to the next. Although, the size is quite spacious, it would’ve been great to have some more “wow” moments with the usage of space. Regardless, the set design was beautifully done. We aren't used to using clues twice, but in this case you may just have to so that’s something to keep in mind. The puzzles were pretty on point in terms of incorporating what would be used in that era. The game master was great, and she was very prompt whenever we needed them. In the end, we successfully saved King’s Landing with just the two of us and minutes to spare.

Your ticket will include a free photo on the Iron Throne Replica in the official "Game of Thrones" shop in the Old Town. We didn’t have time to go back but maybe you should plan to play this escape room and THEN go to Old Town as we would’ve loved to have that as a souvenir. Guess we’ll just have to go back!
