📖 THE STORY

Welcome to the Wanderlust Circus! The star of the show has decided to take control of the circus. Frustrated that no one takes him seriously, he no longer wants to smile, he wants revenge! Be careful, scary things are happening here, so you have to quickly find a way to escape.

🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE

  • The rooms at Mission: Escape are all from the company ‘Game Over’ and this is a really fun circus theme with some of the best design from a Game Over game that we have played. Although spooky, we wouldn’t go as far as to call it a horror game; there are some jumpy moments and a dark(ish) theme, but it doesn’t become too heavy that we were ever genuinely scared or forced to run or hide. Therefore, this makes the game ideal for those players looking to try scary rooms for the first time.

  • As mentioned, the design and construction of the room is top class. There is a great use of light and sound, amongst other small special effects, which create an immersive game experience that will certainly make you believe you are in a rundown circus.

  • Progression of story is something often forgotten in many escape rooms, but here you feel the transition as you progress. We begin our mission on the outside of the circus, we then enter the main guest arena, followed by the back stage and performer’s area, before finally escaping. This made the game feel fluid and once more adds to the immersion.

  • This is a highly interactive linear adventure, which is full of circus related tasks. Overall, we enjoyed the variety of puzzles, which contained dexterity, decoding, searching, and cooperative elements.

🧩 MISSED THE MARK

  • There isn’t much in here that they missed.

🏹 TAKE A SHOT?

This is a great game to welcome players into the scarier side of escape rooms and highly recommended for those such players! We think the game will be best played in groups of 2-3 for experienced teams, and up to four for those less experience.
