Alex was being haunted by "The Sleepyman". He went to a hypnotherapist for help. We were all part of his subconscious (best not to have more than 6 or else Alex could get quite confused) and our goal was to help him wake up from his nightmare.
This story line was really good. It kept us intrigued the entire time. By incorporating the audio concept of storytelling with puzzles, it made us feel like we were not just playing a regular puzzle solving game but were really part of this horrible nightmare. We looked forward to solving each puzzle since we're always rewarded with another development in the story. It almost felt like opening a different chapter in a book....
I'm glad we played this during the day time because "creepy shadowy man" was my worse childhood nightmare. There were definitely times when cold chills were running down my spine. If you would like to enhance the experience, I definitely recommend playing in the dark and put on your headphones.
We were given time after the game in zoom to discuss over our experience and till this day, we all have different opinions on what had happened to Alex. We love to hear what you guys thought after you play this game! That is, if you don't get stuck in Alex's subconscious forever...
(If you do decide to try this game, please remember to let them know that you heard it from"ESCAPETHEROOMers"!)
Disclosure: We thank Mystery Mansion Regina for comping our tickets for this game. Although a complimentary experience was generously provided, it does not impact our opinion on the review whatsoever.
