🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE

  • Just like "The Bookstore", this game also had an amazing storyline. It was more emotional for us than "The Bookstore" as we felt the moral of the story at the end. The creator was able to explore a darker side of humanity through this experience.

  • The set design and props were pretty much taken out from a real music school and placed into the game. Of course, there are other elements that you'll discover as the story changes. We can't really spoil too much here, but the plot definitely evolves.

  • When it comes to the puzzle designs, Paradox Project never ceases to amaze us! We were faced with challenges that we've never encountered before and every single one of them required careful planning in terms of what the relevance was to the storyline. Sometime later on our Greece trip, we actually saw one of the props that were used in the game at a culture center. Understanding how the mechanism worked and how it was related to the game confirmed our belief on how much effort the creators put into designing their games.

  • Our favorite part of "The Music Academy" was not being able to tell what's real and what's not. We were surprised several times throughout the game by either a puzzle or a secret compartment or a plot twist.

🧩 MISSED THE MARK

  • One part of the game was heavily based on observation and we did spend a good amount of time "searching". After reading the initial clue, we were mislead by how many items we had to find and how many things we were supposed to accomplish. That clue could be more clearly written for foreign players.

🏹 TAKE A SHOT?

After playing "The Bookstore" , we knew that Paradox Project was going to be incapable of disappointing us with any of their other games. Of course, we loved "The Music Academy" as well. This was yet, another brilliant performance. For "The Music Academy", we were joined by our good friend and creator of YouEscape, Nick. We were super happy to have help in this game as playing two 3-hour games back-to-back is definitely not an easy task. If you have a smaller group but still want to play this game, I would suggest emailing the owner to see what he can do for you, as he's a super nice guy. But if you're able to assemble a team, it's much more recommended as there's plenty to do in this game and lots of areas to cover. One thing I do like about their game design is that once you're in a new place, you rarely have to go back to a previous place (maybe once or twice we did), so there's not too much running back and forth. Even if they need you to do so, they'll provide you with easy access to the previous location. If someone asked us which game is our favorite, it's going to be very hard to choose. So why don't you just carve out a whole day, add a meal in between each game, and go play ALL THREE! I'm sure you'll have one incredible day!
