We visited Scavenger Escape when we were on our Budapest escape room tour last year. Other than escape rooms, they also had city hunts. So it's quite an easy transition for them to come out with a puzzle hunt for online. "The Spear of Destiny" could be played for free for the first 20 minutes by signing up on their website. When the 20 minutes is up, you can decide if you want to continue to search for the spear of destiny or not by purchasing the game (available for the next 120 minutes). We took about an hour to complete the entire game, so you can either take your time or do it in competitive mode.
You'll need a printer (color preferred), scissor, and some Q-tips (although we visualized this one and didn't need to use this item). The answers are to be entered online but your DIY game pieces will be emailed to you separately. The level of difficult on the puzzles seemed to be fairly uniformed throughout. Majority felt like visual puzzles. It would've been great to see a bit more variation with the types of puzzles. We enjoyed having to piece together the mini puzzles for a meta puzzle at the end. The colorful puzzle pieces makes this game a great activity for adults and kids to do together!
(If you do decide to try this game, please remember to let them know that you heard it from"ESCAPETHEROOMers"!)
