We have always been a fan of The Escape Game's physical escape rooms, so we were very excited to try out their digital games. "The Heist" was build around an agent trying to track down an art thief named Vincent Hahn. Currently there are two volumes with the third one on its way.

The first volume, "Chasing Hahn", was the first time we "met" with our field agent. He's great at portraying his character. At times he made us nervous about the situation and other times he made us burst in laughter with his jokes. Our mission was to uncover Hahn's true identity, connect him to a crime and work with Interpol to bring him to justice. We played this game over zoom with our friends Team Bluefish.

Each of us had downloaded a version of the evidence files before the game. This worked really well since we're able to search for clues separately and input our confirmed results together on the shared screen. I loved how we were able to identify some of the physical rooms we've played at "The Escape Game" in their videos. They were great Easter eggs.

We played volume 2, "The Silk Road", on our own. Hahn has escaped again. This time our field agent was sent to Hong Kong to try to catch him before he could steal anymore artifacts! We were glad to see different types of puzzles were incorporated into this sequel than the previous episode. I'm super impressed at the field agent's Chinese. The part where he ordered noodles was spot on! With that said, you'll have some advantage on a puzzle if you actually read Chinese. Since I am fluent in Chinese, I had a lot of fun enjoying watching my partner writing them down in squiggly lines as I laid back and just pointing out the right answers to him.

The interface of this game was very easy to use and very organized. As you finished one mission, you're debriefed on what you need to do next. All the files then will open for the next mission. The puzzles were not difficult but still took us around 40 minutes or so per each game. It was really easy to follow and we had a great time with both volumes. We can't wait to play volume 3 and see what Hahn is up to this time!

I don't think they are offering these anymore after they came out with the digital version but just so you can see what the box version of this online adventure used to look like:

(If you do decide to try this game, please remember to let them know that you heard it from"ESCAPETHEROOMers"!)
