Today, Zookeeper Jones will guide you through a fast-paced training program with puzzles and tests to teach you about our zoo animals. By the end, you'll see if you have what it takes to be a top-tier zookeeper. Prepare for Tacoma's thrilling escape room experience, inspired by Point Defiance Zoo! Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE The storyline was clearly defined from the start, allowing us to understand precisely what was required to complete our zookeeper training. The five distinct areas of the zoo were well-marked, and there was a single input station that we needed to return to in order to complete each set of tasks. Each area featured different types of puzzles, with varying levels of linearity, providing players the option to collaborate or adopt a "divide and conquer" approach. The creator made a concerted effort to engage all five senses in the puzzles, enhancing the enjoyment of the experience, particularly for children. Despite being a single-room game, the creator effectively utilized available resources to delineate the different areas of the zoo. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK It would be beneficial to create divisions within this room to enhance the experience of entering new spaces, adding both satisfaction and an element of mystery. For example, the birds could be housed in a large aviary with a secure lock perhaps? 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? While this game is designed for children or beginners, we found it to be quite enjoyable. We completed it swiftly and had plenty of time remaining, as the puzzles were well-designed and flowed smoothly. It would be interesting to see an adult version with more challenging puzzles or additional adjustments. The whole experience made us feel young again, and we were super pumped to earn the badge with ease! ℹ️ ADDITIONAL INFO Free street parking on one side of the building and metered parking on the other side, please read signs carefully Lobby with seating and merchandise for purchase Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers (If you do decide to try this game, give us a shoutout or tag us on social media so we know you heard it from "ESCAPETHEROOMers"!) LOCATION: Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Photo above is property of Captured Escape Rooms Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 📝 ETR DECODER 🔑 GAME: Prohibition: Last Call 📅 DATE PLAYED: July 24, 2024 🎬 GENRE: Speakeasy 🧠 DIFFICULTY (Based on 6 ppl): 7/10 👥 TOTAL # OF PLAYERS: 4-14 ppl 🕒 LENGTH OF TIME: 60 Mins. 💰 PRICE: $32.00/ pp (adults), $29.00/ pp (students) ☎️ BOOKING TYPE: Private 🔓 ESCAPED/ COMPLETED?: No 📖 THE STORY You received a mysterious invitation to "The Party of the Decade" at Smugglers End, a local speakeasy. After arriving, you realize you were the only one invited and are being framed for a major liquor smuggling operation. With your fingerprints all over the place, you must discover who framed you and find a way to escape before the “fuzz” arrives. 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE The set design was beautifully done with the feel of a speakeasy with old barrels, vintage significant props and even a doorway in through a laundromat. Some of the puzzles were clever in the way they were executed, using the theme, the props and the atmosphere of the speakeasy to blend it all together. With a lot of props used to decorate the room, there were a lot of things fixed into place to avoid confusion as to what should be used and what should not be used. The game continued to reveal new things as we progressed with some great surprises. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK There were a few red herrings that could have been avoided as well as a few lock inputs that were the same and no cluing as to where the solution should go. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? "Prohibition: Last Call" was pleasing to the eyes and had some solid puzzles that blended into the room. There were some fun reveals as we navigated through the game. Though most of the room was low tech, they had some great elements that used tech where it counted. We played with 6 people and found there was room to move around. 8 people feels like it would be the maximum. This room would be great for anyone who enjoys a speakeasy theme or a challenging escape room.
