I mean, itβs perfect. And totally reflects the tongue-in-cheek humor found throughout the games at this venue. Bringing you into their world: As children of the 80βs, this rewound us back to the days of Blockbuster rentals with plenty of nostalgia. And throughout the game, they leaned into the movie rental theme with world-building dΓ©cor. Thematic puzzles: The puzzles stay rooted in the world of the room, with some really fun interactions and tactile elements. I mean, you can totally live out your teen video rental store employee dreams. Pure entertainment value: The narrative of the game didnβt totally make senseβ¦but we didnβt care. The premise is so creative and fun that we were happily along for the ride anyway. The manager is the star of the show. Fun reveals and surprises: The experienced featured a number of fun surprises we canβt tell you about so as not to spoil anythingβ¦but they delighted us and kept us entertained throughout. If youβve played some of their other games (at various 60 to Escape locations), you may notice some fun Easter egg references to those as well. 𧩠MISSED THE MARK An abrupt finale: For us, the ending felt like it cut to credits a little too quickly. We thought for sure there was one more ending bit coming, especially since the other games we played here had such memorable final moments. Whereas this one stood out more as an βoh wait, that was it?β A bit of static: There were a few places, in one section of the game in particular, where the sensory inputs (both color and sound) were not as clear and distinguishable as they could have been. πΉ TAKE A SHOT? "Lockbuster Video" shines in its cheekiness, unexpected surprises, and the thematic nature of the set and puzzles. If youβre a seasoned player, you may not find the same mental challenge and a-haβs as some of 60 to Escapeβs other games. However, thereβs a lot to love in the spirit, immersion, and diverse interactivity of this experience. - Romantic Adventure Getaways - "Paradise Lost Suite"
LOCATION: Morrison, Illinois, USA Photo above is property of Romantic Adventure Getaways Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers π ETR DECODER π GAME: Paradise Lost Suite π DATE PLAYED: May 16-17, 2026 π¬ GENRE: Adventure π§ DIFFICULTY (Based on 2 ppl): 6/10 π₯ TOTAL # OF PLAYERS: 2 ppl π LENGTH OF TIME: Overnight π° PRICE: $379.00/ Night (Plus optional add-on experiences) βοΈ BOOKING TYPE: Private π ESCAPED/ COMPLETED?: Yes π THE STORY Youβre taking on the roles of Marion and Indy (from the Indiana Jones movies) throughout the night to recreate some of their adventures. But no knowledge of the movies is needed; you can still enjoy an adventurous romp through the jungle either way! π― HIT THE BULLSEYE Exciting concept: We love the whole idea of Romantic Adventure Getaway! They provide really unique opportunities to get away, combine puzzles with romance, and stay overnight in a cool environment. Youβll receive an opening clue when you arrive, then solve each series of clues to lead you through a sequence of locations and activities. Indy-palooza: The Paradise Lost suite is a dream for Indiana Jones fans. The activities and spaces themselves are themed around the franchise, as well as incorporating pics, clips, and quotes throughout. While you don't need any prior knowledge, there's plenty of references to appreciate if you are an aficionado. Mood sequence: Indiana Jones is an adventure, and your evening begins the same, but grows in romance as the night climaxes. Earlier portions are more adventure and relaxation focused, but things took a turn mid-game into romance and then some spice. For us, the highlight was a very sweet and connective element in the middle that marked the shift into more of that romantic realm. Mix of activities: Most of the challenges are right out of one of the movies, with a nice mix of collaboration and co-operation. We werenβt thinking about heat or other elements in those moments! Cool vignettes: You will encounter some immersive and unexpected environments on your journey (one reveal particularly wowed us), and the passages are often well-concealed. Use of tech: They've Integrated tech in the adventure to allow for some escape room-esque puzzle solves and reveals. And they've put Alexa present in every room so you can personalize the music in each space, or just stick with the default Indiana Jones music. In a very sweet touch, they also pre-program βyour songβ that you pre-select for the most sentimental portion of the evening. Easter eggs: There are some additional hidden challenges beyond the main adventureβ¦we found one, but there could easily have been more. Keep your eyes peeled and, if you have the time, do some extra searching. 𧩠MISSED THE MARK Temperature control: We arrived at the end of a sunny day in May. While the bedroom area had the A/C running and was a pleasant temperature, the rest of the areas were very warm and humidβ¦sweating in our deluxe robes made some of the activities a bit less pleasant and made us more inclined not to linger so we could pop back into the cooler space. (There was one other A/C unit we found and were able to turn on partway through the experience. This would have been great to have running ahead of time to help cool things down.) Safety concern: There was some misleading real-world safety signage. A thematic, in-world warning would have been more fun and immersive without the potential safety issues. πΉ TAKE A SHOT? Calling all adventurous couples! Romantic Adventure Getaways are a fabulous way to celebrate a special occasion with a truly unique experience. The Paradise Lost Suite is a playful adventure where you get to recreate iconic moments from the first two movies, so the perfect pick for Indiana Jones fans. Thereβs a little something for everyone, from relaxing massage chairs to archery to shot glass stacking (which was harder than we expected!). Itβs a special way to spice things up, blending gameplay, puzzles, and surprises with romance and intimacy. Definitely aim to be there the whole time allowable, and you may still wish you had more time! It will certainly be a night you wonβt forget. Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers βΉοΈ ADDITIONAL INFO You will need to go up multiple flights of stairs to access the suite. The parking lot is behind the main house (look for #103 off the road), with designated spots for each of their suites. Then head to the main house, and look for the first door on the side (marked with signage for Paradise Lost). This is a full suite, with bathroom, kitchenette (microwave, coffee machine, mini-fridge), bedroom, etc. Wifi is available, as well as Netflix (though we donβt know when you might have time for watching TV!). This is one of three current locations, with "Paradise Lost" also currently available in Mount Vernon, OH. Can you help him find the hidden files so he can expose any corruption and bring the governor to justice? π― HIT THE BULLSEYE Mentally challenging: The puzzles in this game are on the harder side, providing plenty of a-ha's and ongoing shots of satisfaction as you work your way through. It was a good mental workout for us three enthusiasts! Open floor plan: This room has a lot of space and plenty to do, making it a great choice for larger groups. There is also good use of different areas as you progress, with nice opportunities for communication and collaboration. Slick set: They did a great job creating an authentic set, befitting a high ranking government official. We felt ready to sit down and sign some important documents or pontificate. Don't let the buttoned up look deceive you, there are secrets hiding in countless places! It will be up to you to distinguish the key elements from the background decor. Well-integrated, thematic puzzles: With one exception, the puzzles here blend seamlessly into the setting. It really does feel for the most part that you have just broken into a politician's office, rather than an office-dressed room with a bunch of obvious puzzle elements layered on top. The nature of your challenges also make sense in the context of the story and environment. Playful in-world communication: Your hacker friend, Jackknife, not only provides helpful hints along the way (if needed), but also helps celebrate your successes or gives you a bit of a hard time. He also has a bevy of sound effects at the ready to respond to your actions. It was silly, different, and endearing. 𧩠MISSED THE MARK Fidgety access panel: There was one keypad lock that, despite having the right answer, didn't open for several tries. A little front end instruction would have helped. Nearby noises: The volume of sound from a boistrous group of teens once they began playing in an adjacent room was a bit distracting at times. πΉ TAKE A SHOT? As a challenging 90 minute game, "Executive Disorder" is a great fit for experienced groups of enthusiasts. (Note: there are potential plans in the pipeline to eventually pare this back to a 60 minute game.) Being puzzle-fiends, we had a fabulous time! While it doesn't have the big wows or drama of The Passage, it does an excellent job immersing you in the realistic environment and providing plenty of satisfying, puzzle-solving dopamine hits along the way. And they bring the levity with some tongue-in-cheek humor and playfulness peppered in. So if you've ever wanted to fight back against government corruption without fear of being disappeared, now's your chance! - Arcane Wonders - "Onstage"
Photo above is property of Arcane Wonders Company: Arcane Wonders Game: Onstage Country: USA πΊπΈ Language: English Type of Game: Tabletop Game (Card Game) π¬ Genre: Adventure, Fun Date Played: May 1, 2026 Difficulty (based on 3 players): 6/10 Size of Team: 1-5 ppl (Ages 14+) Time: Unlimited (Approximately 15-30 Mins.) Price: $19.99 USD ππ ·π ΄ πππ Ύππ In "Onstage", players take on the role of competing theatre troupes, each trying to recruit the best performers and put together the most impressive cast. Rather than constructing buildings or engines, here you are building a show, one performer at a time, by winning tricks and claiming talent from the stage. The theme comes through more strongly than you might expect from a trick-taking game. The idea of performers physically entering and leaving the spotlight, shifting attention and influence, is cleverly mirrored in the mechanics. ππ ·π ΄ π Άπ °π Όπ ΄ π Ώπ »π °π "Onstage" is a must-follow trick-taking game with a clever twist: the trump suit is not fixed. Instead, it is determined dynamically by the performers currently on stage and can frequently shift mid-hand as the lineup changes. A key highlight is that certain cards introduce abilities that allow you to manipulate the stage, adding, removing, or swapping performers, which can dramatically alter the course of a round. Players take turns leading and following suit, with the winner of each trick potentially recruiting a performer based on the card played. These performers provide points for end-game scoring, after a set number of rounds depending on the player count. This shifting system is what sets "Onstage" apart from more traditional trick-taking games. The unpredictability keeps each hand engaging, and timing becomes critical, knowing when to trigger an ability or when to push for control of the trump can make all the difference. Additionally, you are not only paying attention to the cards in your hand or who is currently on stage, but also looking ahead to the line of performers waiting in the wings. Manipulating this queue to ensure the next performer is more likely to benefit you, rather than an opponent, adds another layer of decision-making. Itβs a subtle addition to the trick-taking formula, but one that feels both unique and highly thematic. From a production standpoint, "Onstage" is a smaller box game but still delivers solid component quality and beautiful artwork. The box itself is a standout feature, transforming into the stage where the meeple performers are placed. This is a fun and creative touch that reinforces the theme and adds a level of immersion to the experience. Accompanying this are the screen-printed meeples, each showing a number of flowers (from one to three), which serve both as a determinant for the trump suit and as the point value they provide during scoring. The artwork on the cards is particularly appealing, drawing on theatrical and traditional influences, with bold colours and expressive character designs that give the game a strong visual identity. It feels thematic without becoming cluttered, and the overall table presence is impressive for such a compact box. The iconography is straightforward and intuitive, with only a small number of symbols to learn. This makes it easy for players to become comfortable after just a few hands. The effects printed on the cards are also clear and easy to follow, which is especially important in a game where abilities can interrupt the normal flow of tricks. Finally, a small but appreciated touch is the inclusion of background context in the rulebook, providing insight into the gameβs Vietnamese setting and adding an extra layer of thematic flavour. Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers ππ ·π ΄ π Ώππππ »π ΄π The puzzle in "Onstage" comes from timing, deduction, and adaptability rather than long-term planning. Unlike more traditional trick-taking games, you are constantly reassessing the value of your hand as the trump suit shifts and the stage evolves. Thereβs a strong tactical layer in deciding when to win tricks and when to hold back. Winning too early may lock in performers that donβt ultimately score well, while waiting too long might leave you without key opportunities. The addition of card abilities deepens this puzzle, creating opportunities for clever plays that can disrupt opponents or improve your own scoring position. Interaction is naturally high, but here it feels particularly dynamic. Because a single card can change the trump or alter the available performers, players are frequently forced to pivot. This creates moments of surprise and tension that keep everyone engaged, and can even result in a trick winner walking away empty-handed if the cards are played cleverly. At the same time, the game remains accessible. The core mechanics will feel familiar to anyone with trick-taking experience, while the added systems introduce variety without becoming overwhelming. Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers π ²π »π Ύππ Έπ ½π Ά ππ ·π Ύππ Άπ ·ππ "Onstage" is a clever and refreshing take on the trick-taking genre, adding just enough innovation to stand out without losing the accessibility that defines it. The shifting trump mechanic is the star of the show, creating dynamic and unpredictable rounds that reward timing and adaptability. The presentation is strong, with eye-catching artwork and clear card design supporting the gameplay throughout. Combined with its quick playtime and relatively simple ruleset, it makes for an easy recommendation as a filler or warm-up game. For groups who enjoy trick-taking games with a twist, Onstage delivers an engaging, highly interactive experience that plays quickly and encourages repeat plays. Itβs a game of timing, flair, and a touch of theatrical dramaβone where the spotlight can shift at any moment. Only a fortunate few have survived, and you are one of them. Now, you have the opportunity to return to the surface. However, it's not as simple as it seems! Sadly, a series of disastrous issues will confine you in Vault 27. Can you make it back to the surface? Your future depends on you! Video above is property of Maximum Escape Barcelona π― HIT THE BULLSEYE Maximum Escape expertly introduces the game with a unique flair. The game masters fully embody their characters, enhancing the fun for players. This particular game features an engaging, extended introduction that creates a sense of urgency, compelling us to seek safety in the bunker. The game's lighting design effectively guides the player's attention. For example, the introduction plays on the TV, and then the room plunges into darkness, forcing the player's focus on a single element. Throughout the game, the lighting seamlessly directs us to the areas where we need to concentrate on searches and puzzles. The set design convincingly immerses us in a fallout shelter environment. The rustic machinery, ambient sounds, dim lighting, smoke effects, and surprising scenes later in the game significantly enhance the level of immersion. At one point, we even had to verify with the GM if we were meant to proceed, as everything appeared so authentic. One prop we used delivered an incredibly realistic output effect. Beyond its sound, the visual effect was equally impressive. 𧩠MISSED THE MARK Understanding the GM's hints through the walkie talkie can be challenging, as the voice may become muffled. We encountered a puzzle with an illustration that was quite confusing. We didn't feel we were following the intended path, and when using the prop to activate something, it was used multiple times. However, without the light turning green to indicate success, we were unaware of completing the mission. One of the puzzles in the game is challenging and takes time to complete, but since only one person can operate it, it can be a bit dull for the other players. πΉ TAKE A SHOT? Maximum Escape excels at crafting an immersive atmosphere, using special effects to transport players into an alternate world. While this game may not feature the extensive array of puzzles found in some other games, it offers tasks that are intricately tied to the storyline and essential for escaping the bunker. The experience greatly depends on what the player seeks in an escape room. However, one can be assured that the set design will not disappoint, as it is replete with surprises and hidden elements that amazed us throughout the game. It is highly recommended for fans of war-era inspired films. You want to remember if this is real, but the virus stripped you of your memories that you have been struggling hard to gain back. With your recruited team, your vague recollections have led you back to this same hospital to uncover the truth. Can you reclaim your lost memories and discover what happened within these eerie halls? NOTE: This is a standalone sequel of a previous game by TRAPPED, "Contaminated Hospital". Video above is property of TRAPPED Mississauga Escape Room π― HIT THE BULLSEYE Room 057 combines clever use of objects and well-made technical components to guide players through the discovery. A truly unexpected surprise is carefully crafted into the game that thrilled my team and made us stop to appreciate it. Set design was solid and the use of coloured lights helped build atmosphere. There is a good variety of puzzles that provide excellent βahaβ moments as they physically open boxes or reveal secrets. Each players had something that could play to their strength and could have their moment to shine in the room. 𧩠MISSED THE MARK There was one puzzle that were a little long and tedious for a 60-minute escape room. Time became a key thing as there is a lot to do in the hour. There is component that is used by several puzzles that wasnβt made clear in the beginning. More of a heads up than anything else but there is a safe in the room that will lock you out for 2 minutes at a time if you input the incorrect code twice. πΉ TAKE A SHOT? "Room 057" provides some really unique and interesting twists that kept my team engaged and determined to follow solve this mystery and I admit I didnβt expect the ending! This is a challenging game that would benefit more experienced players as it requires more layered puzzling to piece together clues and solutions. I recommend this type of game for groups looking for a break from the tradition locks and who enjoy a little eeriness to their games. But everyone is here to see the main attraction... the Fortune Teller. However, when you arrive at the carnival, you realize that you cannot leave and the only way to escape is if you can find the Fortune Teller and have her decide your fate. π― HIT THE BULLSEYE The bulk of the puzzles had a carnival theme which added to the theatrics of the room. All the puzzles were also well clued and we never had any moments of wondering how to arrive at the answer. The overall flow of the room as we went from one to the next was planned out very well and added to the theme and fun of the room. This was an all-tech room which made for a fun experience. This gave us more of an opportunity to experiment and try different fun ideas on puzzles. We did ask for one hint and found the GM clued us really well with a nice push in the right direction and still allowed us to arrive at the solution on our own. There were some sly eureka moments that really made us smile after we got them. Without spoiling it, the ending really made the game as our jaws dropped when we got there. 𧩠MISSED THE MARK The room could have used a little more βcarnivalβ decorations to give it a more immersive experience. πΉ TAKE A SHOT? "The Carnival" was a fun room with logical puzzles and wonderful flow. This room did promote teamwork and discussion as a few puzzles were made easier through communicating with one another and decisions needed to be made as we progressed (you may see the true colors of your friends lol). The ending of the room absolutely made this room and tied everything together. The premise does seem creepy but the room has no jump-scares overall (unless you have a fear of clowns, as there is one clown in there). The room was a little on the easier side which would make for a great room for beginners or experienced people trying to set a record. Saved by a rescue team in the dream, you have memory loss due to a mysterious virus from the island. Unsure if it was merely a dream or a lost memory from 30 years ago, you decide to recruit a team and revisit the hospital to uncover the truth behind your forgotten past. Video above is property of TRAPPED Mississauga Escape Room π― HIT THE BULLSEYE The puzzles and story flowed seamlessly together, leading to intuitive solutions that worked well with the narrative. The bulk of the puzzles were either grand enough that allowed everyone in the room the chance to solve it or had enough pieces that everyone was able to be engage in the solve. A few props stood out for their quality, creativity, and unique usage. One particular puzzle distinguished itself for its inventiveness and led to a fantastic eureka moment that felt movie worthy. The GMs were skilled at giving hints that were cryptic enough to help us solve the puzzle and not take away the excitement of our eureka moment. Having some group members with some mobility issues, the GMs were very considerate in accommodating them. 𧩠MISSED THE MARK One puzzle could have been clued slightly better as we knew the solution but not the order of input which delayed a key part of the story. πΉ TAKE A SHOT? "Room 057" was a solid room that had some creative puzzles that gave us some great eureka moments. The puzzles and narrative flowed together smoothly for an immersive experience. The set design was creative with some appealing props. We played with 4 people and found that it worked out to allow everyone the chance to see everything and stay involved. Even an additional person would have worked well in the room. Anyone who is a fan of mystery or science type rooms should give this room a shot. Overall, our group had a blast solving this mystery, and the ending wrapped up the room beautifully. βΉοΈ ADDITIONAL INFO Free parking. LOCATION: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada Photo above is property of TRAPPED Mississauga Escape Room Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers π ETR DECODER π GAME: Chaos Effect π DATE PLAYED: March 16, 2023 π¬ GENRE: Murder Mystery, Sci-Fi π§ DIFFICULTY (Based on 5 Players): 9/10 π₯ TOTAL # OF PLAYERS: 4-9 ppl π LENGTH OF TIME: 70 Mins. π° PRICE: CAD $28/ pp βοΈ BOOKING TYPE: Private π ESCAPED/ COMPLETED?: Yes π THE STORY When a young woman is found murdered in her apartment it sounds like a pretty clear cut case. Except when it is revealed that she's in a secret research project involving Quantum Physics, it becomes clear that her murder is not as it seems. A single clue is left by her body that will spiral you on a quest across time as you search for the individual that caused this bright starβs future to end so suddenly. Can you unravel the mystery and find her killer or will you become lost in the typhoon left by the wings of a butterfly? Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers π― HIT THE BULLSEYE Chaos Effect cleverly uses a concept that encourages players to really move and explore between rooms. The rooms have nuance in the details that play such a pivotal role as you move forward without even realising. The combination of puzzles and murder mystery creates a hands on and brains on experience that keeps you thinking from start to finish. The story is clear and well outlined with excellent progressions marked throughout. The twist of this experience is an absolute delight. It forces new perspectives and changes the direction of the game. The puzzles use a combination of traditional puzzling but also a unique application of pattern and observational recognition. The game mechanics were fun and felt immersive in the game. They made sense and I loved how they unfolded. Pay attention to some curious items in the first room to help you foreshadow later aspects. 𧩠MISSED THE MARK The game starts off pretty broad that can mislead players to trying to tackle puzzles in the wrong way. Donβt be afraid to ask questions if youβre not sure. The middle room, while I understand the importance of it, felt a little tedious in repetition. Not necessarily a missed the mark but this game has a heavy murder mystery aspect that requires you to narrow down suspects, which not all escape room players may like or be able to do. πΉ TAKE A SHOT? "Chaos Effect" takes the framework of a traditional escape room and applies a fascinating mechanic that really gets your brain thinking. The story was engaging and I loved the unravelling of the mystery. Our group was able to solve the majority of puzzles but one particular mechanic kept us from fully capturing all the story and it was a βdang!β kind of moment once the GM talked things through with us. This is a challenging game but incredibly rewarding. I recommend this game for groups with a variety of puzzlers and an attention to detail. The twist was perfect and will push you further down the rabbit hole. This has been TRAPPED Mississaugaβs best game yet! βΉοΈ ADDITIONAL INFO Free parking is available in the front. The game progress isn't synchronized among players, meaning each individual must input all answers to keep up with the group. We arranged a phone call to talk about puzzles, strategies, and solutions. This is not a point-and-click game, so it does not involve any searching. The hotspots are bright pink, clearly indicating that information is available when clicked. In each stage, there weren't many rooms to switch between. Most of the clues and puzzles were concentrated on a single screen. As you delve deeper into Anna Marks' disappearance, you start gathering information to move forward. What begins as a routine first-day cadet assignment quickly turns into something much bigger, stranger, and more exciting than your training prepared you forβ¦ π― HIT THE BULLSEYE An unforgettable companion character: The heart of this experience is the absolutely adorable alien robot you meet along the way, serving as both your hint system and hype squad. Our GM did a fantastic job of bringing him to life and personalizing our interactions. We were completely enamored and thoroughly entertained. Cooperative puzzles: This room does a great job splitting information across spaces and encouraging real collaboration. The final sequence, in particular, required multiple hands, each with their own special job, and would have worked well for slightly larger teams. (This is why the room minimum is technically 4 people, and it would have been fun to have a few more players.) Thankfully, as a duo, the GM was able to help us out a bit from afar. A fresh take on the UFO aesthetic: Rise of the Icarus has a stunning and beautiful interpretation of a UFO environment. It manages to feel both industrial and otherworldly in a really cohesive way. Itβs impressive, immersive, and just plain cool to explore and hang out in! Tech integration and satisfying solves: There are plenty of creative puzzles and cool effects interwoven with tons of futuristic tech. This game has SO many fun gadgets and gizmos and doodadsβ¦but they do a good job making it clear what goes together and whatβs actually in play. They even have a cool, futuristic βlanternβ to ensure you donβt have any issues with dim lighting. Color-blind friendly: Color-based puzzles are generally supported with symbol or shape backups. 𧩠MISSED THE MARK Light narrative thread: While the experience is consistently fun and engaging, the story itself doesnβt evolve in a deeply meaningful way. Things change and progress in a positive way, but we never really gained an understanding of the backstory or underlying reasoning behind what we were doing. Visual confusion: One puzzle had a background that we were meant to ignore but I interpreted as meaningful (leading to struggles completing the puzzle). It didnβt seem necessary or much of an enhancement, so I questioned why it was there. However, it seemed clear to Dave it was just a background to be ignored, so I may be unusual in finding it misleading. πΉ TAKE A SHOT? "Rise of the Icarus" was an absolute blast. We walked out stunned that this wasnβt the top-ranked room in their lineup (having not yet played Forest of Fables). It is probably our favorite spaceship-themed game weβve played, with such a stellar combination of high-end set design, tech that really wows, endearing character interactions, AND a myriad of super satisfying, co-op heavy puzzles to solve. We consider it a canβt miss in the greater Chicago area, and it feels adaptable enough to suit almost any group. Itβs truly a maximal version of spaceship room! Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers βΉοΈ ADDITIONAL INFO Private lot with a good amount of parking. The generous lobby/waiting area where you check in has both shirts for sale and a creative, co-operative version of tetris you can play. There are bathrooms and a water cooler available. The blend of dense jungle atmosphere, scientific research spaces, and sleek park technology creates an environment thatβs easy to get lost in. Throughout the experiences, the spaces were highly engrossing and fun to be in. Cinematic moments: The game begins with a great in-world intro to launch the story, and it definitely delivers a cool, memorable conclusion. You have a personal choice to make about how things will end, but it will be something youβll remember either way. Tech-heavy (and everything worked!): Like many of their games, there are relatively few traditional locks here, in favor of thematically tactile and interactive puzzles. Several stood out to us for satisfying solves that fit naturally in the setting, and we appreciated how often information was distributed across different spaces to encourage communication and collaboration. 𧩠MISSED THE MARK Lack of clarity: As with their other games, clarity around a few details could be improved. One puzzle relied on color matching of items that changed color under different lighting conditions. In another case, there seemed to be a deliberate mismatch of paired elements, so that you couldnβt solve it until you accessed a 3rd piece of information. We would have preferred that the info be initially obscured, rather than contradictory. Limited solve feedback: There were a handful of times where we werenβt immediately sure whether we had successfully triggered or completed something. A bit more audiovisual feedback in certain moments would have helped maintain flow and reduced second-guessing. πΉ TAKE A SHOT? "Jurassic Outpost" is a great fit for players who love adventure-style rooms with strong environmental design and cinematic presentation. The combination of naturalistic scenery and interactive tech creates a cool Jurassic Park vibe to bring out your inner biologist and archaeologist. Inside, we found a welcome letter, envelopes of evidence, a candle and tea to add to the ambiance, and plenty of other extras for a fun and extraordinary experience. Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers ππ ·π ΄ π Άπ °π Όπ ΄ π Ώπ »π °π Beginning with the welcome letter, it outlined everything we needed for the experience, including a small description of the contents in the box and how to use them. Wanting to get the full experience , we brewed the tea, mixed one of their recommended cocktails and lit the candle to create the perfect atmosphere for the game. There were also some extras with fun tidbits to learn about the time period. The welcome letter pointed us to a website where we could listen to the audio play and find many other extras. There were recipes for different cocktails and mocktails, with one that even incorporated the tea that was provided. There was also a section on how to adapt the game if you were playing with young children and even a helpful guide on how to read cursive. You would need an internet connection for the audio play but LAS provided an option where you could download it to take it along with you as well as a eBook version if you would prefer to read it or use it to follow along like me. This audio play itself was a Loveday Brooke Story but slightly modified to add an extra mystery for us to solve. The production quality of the audio-play was spectacular. The voice actors and the original music was top tier. In fact, the theme song was so catchy I caught myself still humming it the next day. Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers ππ ·π ΄ π Ώππππ »π ΄π This game was all deduction based and flowed smoothly. Along the way, Loveday would find evidence and reference it by its envelope letter, which was our cue to open it up and examine it. Near the end, she would reveal that she had solved the case, which was our signal to pause the audio play and see if we could piece the mystery together ourselves. We never felt like there were any red herrings but knew everything was in front of us and we just needed to make the connections. The evidence was of great quality, and we loved the variety as we tried to figure everything out. Additionally, since the last time we played, they introduced an βalmostβ answer checker. After completing the case, we could take a short quiz asking key questions that would give us an overall score without revealing which specific answers were incorrect. This was a lovely touch as if we got it wrong, it would bring us back into discussion to go through the evidence again. π ²π »π Ύππ Έπ ½π Ά ππ ·π Ύππ Άπ ·ππ The amount of thought and effort that Literary Adventure Society puts into these mysteries is astonishing. We werenβt just listening to an audio play. We were right beside Loveday Brooke solving the case. The evidence was simple but great quality. The extras that came along with it, like the candle, tea, notebook, and historical tidbits, totally elevated the whole experience and ambiance. From the tea to the answer checkers, they hit the mark with everything here. We honestly cannot stop talking about this game. It was perfect for a coupleβs night in, but having a few friends over would make for a fun, casual evening too. You just cannot go wrong with this perfectly packed evening. The game features a spine-chilling atmosphere, eerie silhouettes, and carefully placed jump scares. Photos above are property of Deluded Games ππ ·π ΄ π Άπ °π Όπ ΄ π Ώπ »π °π "We Escaped a Twisted Game" is a horror-themed cooperative game designed for two players. Before starting the game, each player can select a character: Chad or Stacy. You and your teammate begin in the same setting but view the haunted manor from distinct perspectives. Throughout most of the game, effective communication of your observations to each other is essential for progress. The atmosphere is primarily spooky, with the game incorporating jump scares and stealth mechanics, such as avoiding masked figures and "The Silent Stalker", to maintain a high level of tension. There are a bunch of functionalities built directly into the game for you to interact with your partner. For an example, players can toggle their flashlights on and off by pressing "F" and can communicate with each other using a walkie-talkie by pressing "V".
