  • PuzzlEscape Hudson - "Something Wicked!"

LOCATION: Hudson, Massachusetts, USA Photo above is property of PuzzlEscape Hudson Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 📝  ETR DECODER 🔑 GAME: Something Wicked! 📅 DATE PLAYED: July 3, 2022 🎬 GENRE: Supernatural 🧠 DIFFICULTY (Based on 2 ppl): 6/10 👥 TOTAL # OF PLAYERS: 2-8PPL 🕒 LENGTH OF TIME: 60 Mins. 💰 PRICE: $28-38/PP (pending on group size) ☎️ BOOKING TYPE: Private 🔓 ESCAPED/ COMPLETED?: Yes 📖 THE STORY You and your friends are out camping in the woods when suddenly, there's a severe thunderstorm! As luck would have it, you were able to find an abandoned cabin to wait while the storm rages on... so it seems. Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE The set design for "Something Wicked!" was quite... well wicked! We love it when the game starts before we even enter the room and an eerie front porch is exactly what this room needed to stand out from any other type of cabin themed room. Right away we questioned ourselves whether or not we wanted to take shelter in there. The dim lighting, fireplace, jump scares at the exact right times (no live actors) really brought out that "haunted" vibe. There's a difficult, yet really fun physical puzzle that we had to work together on. I'm sure that the game master had a blast watching us as well. The narrative was presented in a journal form which was not too heavy in terms of reading, but did explain in detail the backstory. The puzzles embedded within the room was a nice touch as we actually felt like we were performing a séance. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK One of the puzzles was a search and find in a very dim-lit area and it was really difficult to see. This challenge is great for larger groups, but was quite time-consuming for just 2 players. There’s a part of the game where something is “delivered” to you. It’s a neat concept, but it became repetitive and the “wow” factor dissipated. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? After playing “The Legend of Pepe” and “Escape The Cape”, I would say “Something Wicked!” is our favorite out of the three. But we do favor eerie and supernatural themed games. From the perspective of a more rounded package, this room definitely has set design, sound and special effect covered. If you're not afraid of the dark, then gather all the brave souls you can find and together you might just uncover the wicked force inside this cursed cabin! ℹ️ ADDITIONAL INFO Free Parking Lot Waiting area with seating available Merchandise available for purchase Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers (If you do decide to try this game, give us a shoutout or tag us on social media so we know you heard it from "ESCAPETHEROOMers"!) • PuzzlEscape Hudson - "Escape The Cape!"

LOCATION: Hudson, Massachusetts, USA Photo above is property of PuzzlEscape Hudson Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 📝  ETR DECODER 🔑 GAME: Escape The Cape! 📅 DATE PLAYED: July 3, 2022 🎬 GENRE: Adventure 🧠 DIFFICULTY (Based on 2 ppl): 8.5/10 👥 TOTAL # OF PLAYERS: 2-6PPL (Ages 12+) 🕒 LENGTH OF TIME: 60 Mins. 💰 PRICE: $25-30/PP (pending on group size) ☎️ BOOKING TYPE: Private 🔓 ESCAPED/ COMPLETED?: Yes 📖 THE STORY Weekend getaways to Cape Cod are always fun in the summer! However, the traffic heading back home is always brutal! Rumor has it that there's a secret tunnel between Cape Cod and the mainland. Can you locate it and uncover the passageway? Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE Although this game was set up in a smaller space, it was packed with puzzles! The puzzle designer implemented a lot of the history of Cape Cod into the puzzles and it was nice to learn as we were solving our way through the game. This room was definitely more of a traditional game. However, it did utilize some basic props in a really unique way. There were interesting ways that we had to observe certain puzzles from different perspectives. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK There were a few puzzles that felt like they were put in there just to eat up time. Although, if you have a bigger group, it might help the assembly speed. But we would rather do those types of puzzles during leisure times at home. If there could be a space in the room somewhere that we could utilize to assemble some of the puzzle pieces, that would be great as currently it was kind of awkward placing everything on the floor/sand. There was a physical puzzle that required us to use a tool which was a cool concept. But the tool was not very sturdy, which made it rather difficult especially if you're shorter in height. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? Since this is a seasonal room, you might want to make it out there before they take it down for the holidays. Don't be fooled by the fact that it's labeled as a kids room as it was quite challenging even for us. If you enjoy history, especially about Cape Cod, you might just discover some "treasures" along the way. ℹ️ ADDITIONAL INFO Free Parking Lot Waiting area with seating and water available Merchandise available for purchase Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers *** We regret to inform this game is no longer available for booking but check out other games on their website*** (If you do decide to try this game, give us a shoutout or tag us on social media so we know you heard it from "ESCAPETHEROOMers"!) • Stained Hourglass Escapes - "The Boring Office"

LOCATION: Salem, Massachusetts, USA Photo above is property of Stained Hourglass Escapes Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 📝  ETR DECODER 🔑 GAME: The Boring Office 📅 DATE PLAYED: November 5, 2023 🎬 GENRE: Business-As-Usual 🧠 DIFFICULTY (Based on 4 ppl): 5/10 👥 TOTAL # OF PLAYERS: 2-8 ppl (Recommend 4PPL) (Ages 10+) 🕒 LENGTH OF TIME: 60 Mins. 💰 PRICE: $35/PP (Min 3PPL) ☎️ BOOKING TYPE: Private 🔓 ESCAPED/ COMPLETED?: Yes 📖 THE STORY You are a group of interns beginning your onboarding at a generic company called "Boehring Industries". You're each given a role, and then led into an empty cubicle. The red Swingline stapler is missing, and you need to find it. That's it. Nothing more. Don't look behind the curtain. Just locate the stapler and put it back in its rightful place. How could anything even remotely magical possibly happen in a place so drab and boring and devoid of anything interesting? Hmmmmmm. 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE This is a modern room in every sense of the word. It utilizes a variety of technological elements in creative, delightful ways that both advance the story and keep participants on their toes. The playful nature of this room is undeniable. It initially presents as the most boring scene imaginable, and slowly unfolds into a unique blend of painfully drab and beautifully magical. Each player has a distinct role, ensuring that everybody has tasks to fulfill and their time to shine. The attention to detail was impressive. One challenge in particular required the integration of multiple components obtained over time, and all the information required to succeed could be rediscovered with ease. Some elements' difficulty can be surreptitiously tailored in real time by the GM, based on the success and enjoyment of the team at that point in the experience. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK Given the location in Salem, MA, the target audience is families and tourists, so the puzzles themselves aren't intended to require intense thought. Experienced players may be able to move through quickly enough that they're left wanting more! One specific task could've been tightened up to prevent confusion over exactly how it had been solved. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? This room positively sparkles! The whimsical nature was right up our alley, and there’s excellent tech and creativity. Outside of people who want nothing but brain-busting puzzles, it is a room that almost any one will find enchanting. Kids and families will have a blast! Friends will enjoy the teamwork required, and co-workers will find it refreshing, as well as appreciate the not-so-subtle nods to a few characters and moments from The Office and Office Space. Leave your inner curmudgeon at the door, and let yourself be transported by the first creation from Stained Hourglass. We are so excited to see what they will come up with next!! 🔎 HINT Keep your eyes and ears open at all times to make sure you're receiving all the information being given to you. ℹ️ ADDITIONAL INFO There is metered parking available right in front of the clearly marked location. If you come during high tourist season in October, parking may be hard to find, especially after noon. The spacious lobby is beautifully decorated with hanging pieces of colored “glass”. The owner takes accessibility seriously, and makes sure that the rooms are flexible, adaptive, and accessible for people of varying mobility. There are bathrooms, lockers, and room to hang coats. • Timed Out Escape - "Illusion"

LOCATION: Charlotte, North Carolina, USA Photo above is property of Timed Out Escape Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 📝  ETR DECODER 🔑 GAME: Illusion 📅 DATE PLAYED: November 11, 2021 🎬 GENRE: Magic, Mystery 🧠 DIFFICULTY (Based on 2 ppl): 7/10 👥 TOTAL # OF PLAYERS: 2-8 ppl 🕒 LENGTH OF TIME: 60 Mins. 💰 PRICE: $28/PP ☎️ BOOKING TYPE: Private 🔓 ESCAPED/ COMPLETED?: Yes 📖 THE STORY Magician's never reveal the secrets behind their tricks. Do you have what it takes to discover the "magic" behind a talented acclaimed performer? You have one hour inside their office to search around and uncover it all! Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE The intro video was well made. We love how there's even chairs for us to sit down and enjoy the show. There's a lot of memorabilia and magic posters in this room that made it feel like we've entered a museum. There's so much to "discover" that sometimes we forgot we're playing an escape room. I love that the entire escape room revolves around a center mechanism that we had to essentially open in order to successfully escape. It definitely feels like a magic act. While solving puzzles, we're actually performing some magic tricks and only when we solved the puzzle did we realize that "Hey, we actually did that. That's pretty cool!" A lot of the props/mechanisms looked quite simple but there's a good amount of surprises that are hidden within. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK Because there's a lot of décor, some could be seen as red herrings. With two people, there could be quite a good amount of information to weed out. Sometimes certain things opened because we solved something but because there's no sound or light indication, we missed them. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? If you love magic then you'll have a blast in this room. Not only will you be solving puzzles, you might even learn a magic trick or two. The only thing we secretly wished for was perhaps another secret reveal for that final "wow" moment like in a magic show. But regardless we had a lot of fun! This is definitely a family friendly room. I can just see kids being mesmerized by some of the props in this room. Timed Out currently has 4 rooms and we've only played one other which is "Illusion". Their two others are "West" and "Depth". They are all very different in terms of theme and difficulty level. You'll definitely find something that suits your desire. Check out our interview video above to have a sneak peek of the rooms if you can't decide! ℹ️ ADDITIONAL INFO There's a free parking lot in front of the facility. Lobby area with seating. • Timed Out Escape - "Precinct"

LOCATION: Charlotte, North Carolina, USA Photo above is property of Timed Out Escape Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 📝  ETR DECODER 🔑 GAME: Precinct 📅 DATE PLAYED: November 11, 2021 🎬 GENRE: Detective, Mystery 🧠 DIFFICULTY (Based on 2 ppl): 6.5/10 👥 TOTAL # OF PLAYERS: 3-8 ppl 🕒 LENGTH OF TIME: 60 Mins. 💰 PRICE: $28/PP ☎️ BOOKING TYPE: Private 🔓 ESCAPED/ COMPLETED?: Yes 📖 THE STORY The cops have gone missing and it's up to you to figure out what happened! A clue has been left for you and your team of detectives which has led you to an abandoned police station. Use your investigating skills to search for more clues and solve this mystery... Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE The ambience of this room had an eerie yet stern type of vibe which fits the abandoned precinct perfectly. The décor was spot on with graffities, signages and even a classic phone booth! The storyline was nicely incorporated into the escape room. As we solved the puzzles, we were finding out why we're being called in to this abandoned location. Some of the mechanics in the room really tried to tie in with the theme in terms of having us figure out the 5 "W"s. The ending definitely delivered a sense of urgency. We were glad we made it out with in those last seconds! 🧩 MISSED THE MARK We skipped a puzzle at the beginning because we figured out an answer by deduction but then the unused prop confused us. Perhaps there could be an adjustment on the puzzle where it can't be skipped so the prop could be used properly. One clue word in a puzzle was not as commonly used. We had to kind of guess on the answer. A searching aspect towards the end of the game was quite difficult for two people as the room is quite spacious. Perhaps if there were "clues" left for the players to find which could point them to where they could find the messages, that would be a nice multi-step puzzle. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? If you like being a detective, you'll enjoy this puzzling case. Right when you enter the room, you'll be stumped as there's not much to do at first. But when things start to unravel, your team will definitely to divide and conquer. Timed Out currently has 4 rooms and we've only played one other which is "Illusion". Their two others are "West" and "Depth". They are all very different in terms of theme and difficulty level. You'll definitely find something that suits your desire. • REMOTE: Fox-N-Otter Adventure Escapes - "Geno's Getaway"

Photo above is property of Fox-N-Otter Adventure Escapes Company: Fox-N-Otter Adventure Escapes Game: Geno's Getaway Country: USA 🇺🇸 Language: English Type of Game: Remote Escape Room 🗣 Genre: Action Date Played: June 15, 2020 Difficulty (based on 5 players): 6.5/10 Size of Team: 4-8 Players Recommended Time: 60 Minutes Price: $53/ flat rate (Up to 4 Connections, Up to 8 Players), add'l $10 Video above is property of Fox-N-Otter Adventure Escapes When we initially decided to reached out to Fox-N-Otter Adventure, it was because something special caught our eyes. "There's a real car in this game!" I shouted. In my mind, I knew this was going to be a cool room and as always, I was right! We were given a moment to watch the intro video. Once that's done, our wonderful avatar Jon informed us our goal was to get Geno's gold from his garage and get out ASAP. We were also provided with a portal for inventory. The portal had a cool option of allowing us to try codes on different locks ourselves. This saved us time on guessing which code went with which lock. Since the room was not entirely linear, the portal allowed us to multitask. We definitely had to split up as there was a lot to do in this game. The escape room was situated in a mall and to be able to build a set design into a garage with a real Mini Cooper (fully functional) inside was truly amazing. The props used were all closely connected with the theme and the puzzles had a great flow. Jon was really good at giving secret "camera lens hints" that were subtle but we got his drift right away. He also moved very quickly and was able to do everything we told him to (Well...maybe not everything. Although you can definitely tell him to show you his yoga move, he's quite flexible). Although this was a remote escape room experience, we felt like we're actually playing on site. The puzzles worked well with the remote set up. None of them made us feel like we were just watch the avatar play the game. We always had to contribute to an idea in which he would act on it right away. We also enjoyed how he was able to proceed with certain actions like "searching", "opening boxes", "checking if we missed anything else in the room" without us telling him word for word. He acted like a real escape room player and that was another reason why this experience felt real. With Jon breaking every speed limit, we were able to escape with around 14 minutes left on the clock. And if you thought you escaped at the end, there's definitely a surprise at the end waiting for you! You totally "jump started" our escape room engines that's been hibernating in quarantine for a long time. Zoom! Zoom! Great job! • Fox-N-Otter Adventure Escapes (Arden) - "The DaVinci Diamond"

LOCATION: Arden, North Carolina, USA Photo above is property of Fox-N-Otter Adventure Escapes Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 📝  ETR DECODER 🔑 GAME: THE DaVinci Diamond 📅 DATE PLAYED: November 12, 2021 🎬 GENRE: Adventure 🧠 DIFFICULTY (Based on 2 ppl): 4.5/10 👥 TOTAL # OF PLAYERS: 2-8 ppl 🕒 LENGTH OF TIME: 60 Mins. 💰 PRICE: $84.00 (2-3 ppl), $28.00/ pp (4-8 ppl) ☎️ BOOKING TYPE: Private 🔓 ESCAPED/ COMPLETED?: Yes 📖 THE STORY There's been a breach of security!! The DaVinci Diamond has been stolen from a research facility and it be used weaponized to power a laser. You and your team have been assigned to recover the gem and escape within a narrow 60-minute window timeframe!! Good luck team!! Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE For puzzles lovers, you'll have the work cut out for you as there's plenty of puzzles to solve in this room. We really enjoy the innovative design of some of the puzzles especially the ones that required a "different perspective". Lighting was never an issue in this game which we really appreciated as there's a good amount of puzzles that required visual speculation. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK The ambience was missing the feeling of a heist. Some change of lighting or perhaps alerts of security inside the apartment might make the experience more heist-like. We are use to props being glued down if they are not meant to be moved. One prop was really sticking onto the surface and we were unsure if it can be moved the entire time and ended up using a clue for that item. We never used one of the props in the latter part of the game and was still able to see the solution. I'm not sure if it is optional or not. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? The set design for this room was pretty basic. This room definitely focused more on the puzzles. It's good for smaller groups and it's actually on the harder side than the other two we've played at their other locations. Arden location is Fox-n-Otter's first location and this is one of their older games. If you like more tech and set design, definitely check out their other games, especially the ones at their Hendersonville and Ashville location! ℹ️ ADDITIONAL INFO There's a couple of free parking spaces in front of the facility. Lobby are with merchandise for sale. Make sure to try out "Rocky's Hot Chicken Shack" right next door if you are hungry! First, you must get into his cabin and solve the puzzles! See if you can unlock the secret and discover the "WONDER"!! Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE Wonder Cabin, like the name, is full of wonders from all over the world. Once you figure your way inside, you'll feel like you are in at home of a world traveler. We love the use of colors in this room. It definitely made the game felt vibrant and exciting especially for families with kids. There were moments where we had to work together in order for something to happen and those were our favorite puzzles in the game. It really bought out the importance of teamwork in escape rooms. We love the "magical" touch for the ending. This is the first time we've seen a prop used like this and it definitely made the victory felt worth it! 🧩 MISSED THE MARK One of the clues was a bit confusing on where to look for an item. This should be made more clear so that the players doesn't need to be too rough or destroy certain props in the room. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? This is definitely a fun game for families. I can just visualize the excitement from the kids at the end. If you love exploration and want to learn about the secrets hidden within the Wonder Cabin, then you must visit Fox-N-Otter Adventure Escapes' newest location Hendersonville! And if you completed all of the games there, they also have two other locations in Arden and Asheville! ℹ️ ADDITIONAL INFO Located in the Blue Ridge Mall. • Fox-N-Otter Adventure Escapes (Asheville) - "Cirque Du Saboteur"

LOCATION: Asheville, North Carolina, USA Photo above is property of Fox-N-Otter Adventure Escapes Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 📝  ETR DECODER 🔑 GAME: Cirque Du Saboteur 📅 DATE PLAYED: November 12, 2021 🎬 GENRE: Mystery, Fun 🧠 DIFFICULTY (Based on 2 ppl): 5/10 👥 TOTAL # OF PLAYERS: 2-8 ppl 🕒 LENGTH OF TIME: 60 Mins. 💰 PRICE: $84.00 (2-3 ppl), $28.00/ pp (4-8 ppl) ☎️ BOOKING TYPE: Private 🔓 ESCAPED/ COMPLETED?: Yes 📖 THE STORY There is a saboteur among us!! One of the performers in our troupe has locked up the performers and their props somewhere on the circus grounds. You have 1-hour to expose the saboteur and prepare for showtime!! THE SHOW MUST GO ON!! Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE I love the concept of this escape room. It mixed in character play, detective and fun all in one! We were laughing the entire time throughout the game. Once we enter the room, we instantly felt HAPPY due to the bright colors and fun carnival vibe. The music and lighting was spot on especially towards the end. All the puzzles revolved around games you would see at a circus/carnival. We were still playing some of them even after the puzzles were solved. My favorite part of the game wasn't really a puzzle per se but the fact that we had to "do" something that was part of our character. It really made us feel like we're part of the circus. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK One thing I wish we could add to the game is an actual "scoring" board. Since we were playing the character and had secret phrases that we had to make other characters say, it would be nice to know how that could have impacted the game from a storyline perspective instead of just for fun. If you have kids, definitely bring them as some part of the game were build where you might have to crawl or duck your head to get through. We did have to go back and forth a couple of time as we thought we missed something during the search but the game itself did not really require too much back and forth. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? Lights, camera, action! We were definitely felt like super stars in this circus themed game. It's definitely one of the most fun games we've played. I would totally replay this game with a different character. Bring your friends and family and find out who's the saboteur on your team! Other than this game, there's actually an escape room called "Super Secret" just for kids! And if you've played all of the games at this location then check out their other locations in Hendersonville and Arden! ℹ️ ADDITIONAL INFO This escape room is located in Asheville Mall. • The Valcarol Missions - "The Hidden Lab Mission"

LOCATION: Concord, North Carolina, USA Photo above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 📝  ETR DECODER 🔑 GAME: The Hidden Lab Mission 📅 DATE PLAYED: November 13, 2021 🎬 GENRE: Adventure, Sci-Fi 🧠 DIFFICULTY (Based on 2 PPL): 8/10 👥 TOTAL # OF PLAYERS: 2-10 ppl 🕒 LENGTH OF TIME: 60 Mins 💰 PRICE: $28/PP (5-10PPL), $112/TEAM (2-4PPL) ☎️ BOOKINGTYPE: Private 🔓 ESCAPED/ COMPLETED?: Yes 📖 THE STORY It's November, 3049 and Dr. Dawking has been developing a vaccine will allow us to survive with the radiation. While experimenting, he became seriously ill and is now confined inside a containment box. Your mission is to figure out which one of Dr. Dawking's vaccine was successful, activate it, and then recreate it! This is a biohazard area, so you will only have one hour to succeed! Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE The intro "video" of this escape room is one of the best we've seen. The technology and sound really set the tone of the rest of the room. We were literally "worried" about going inside (well Cici more than I). We loved how the owner put a lot of thought into the authenticity of the props used in this room. If you're not busy solving puzzles, definitely check out some of the decor items. There's so many puzzles in this room that every station is a different type of puzzle. If you have a large group, you can totally divide and conquer and I'm sure every player will be able to contribute something to this mission. Some of the simple puzzles were actually our favorites as we haven't seen it utilized like that before, especially with the prop design. The tech in this room is pretty insane. They use a system where not only they can see and hear you, they can also see what you're entering as your answers. If you are brute forcing, they will let you know. So don't embarrass yourself. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK One of the props had some foreign language written on it that Cici was able to detect the meaning which made our solve much faster. We've informed the owner about removing that "hint". The beginning of the room had a bigger impact than the ending. We wish there was a "wow" moment there as well for the complete package. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? This room is made for enthusiasts who love puzzles. You're definitely going to feel like a crazy scientist running from one station to the other. You should also be aware of your surrounding as when you solve something, something else might pop open so if you are not paying attention, you might miss your next clue. This room is also very generous in size just like their first room "The Crystal Cave Missions" so feel free to bring your "A TEAM"! These missions are a continuous story. Although you don't need to play the first one (Crystal Cave) in order to play this one, I strongly suggest you play all of them to get the storyline. I love how there's something build into each room that if you didn't pay close attention, you wouldn't realize how they are connected. You just might have to replay all of them again just like binge watching a show when all of the rooms are complete. Currently they have two more in the works and we can't wait to go back! ℹ️ ADDITIONAL INFO There's free parking in front of the facility. Make sure to NOT follow your GPS and go straight to the front of the building where the flagpole is. Selfie photobooth in the lobby. This escape room is located in Gibson Mill and there's plenty of food and entertainment to explore! • The Valcarol Missions - "The Crystal Cave Mission"

LOCATION: Concord, North Carolina, USA Photo above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 📝  ETR DECODER 🔑 GAME: The Crystal Cave Mission 📅 DATE PLAYED: November 13, 2021 🎬 GENRE: Adventure, Sci-Fi, Space 🧠 DIFFICULTY (Based on 2 PPL): 7.5/10 👥 TOTAL # OF PLAYERS: 2-10 ppl 🕒 LENGTH OF TIME: 60 Mins 💰 PRICE: $28/PP (5-10PPL), $112/TEAM (2-4PPL) ☎️ BOOKINGTYPE: Private 🔓 ESCAPED/ COMPLETED?: Yes 📖 THE STORY It's November, 3049 and the people of Valcarol have landed on Earth. Our mission is to explore this planet and determine whether the air and water is safe to consume. We've come into contact with a survivor from Earth who has provided us the coordinates of their water filtration station located inside a cave system. In this cave, there is a special element that can purify the water and make it safe again. We must go to the caves and find the elements, filter the water, and bring it back to the dehydrated people of Valcarol!! Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE Wow talk about first impression. Right when we walked in we felt like we're no longer on Earth. The lighting and the hundreds of skulls (all handmade by the way) made us feel like we've just entered a really cold and mysterious cave. Just when we thought that was the most impressive scene, we were welcomed into the actual cave. The ceilings are so high and the room is so spacious, I can hear echoes. We love the utilization of the features of a cave to create puzzles like rock formations, sound, and of course the various props left by the previous crew. The tech in this room is pretty insane. They use a system where not only they can see and hear you, they can also see what you're entering as your answers. If you are brute forcing, they will let you know. So don't embarrass yourself. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK Certain clues at a beginning puzzle might be hard to see due to the lighting. One puzzle utilized props we've already used to solve another puzzle. Normally we would put those on the side so don't make the mistake we did as this room did have an except at reusing items. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? We really enjoyed everything about this room from set design, puzzle design to story. This is probably one of our favorite cave themed rooms. It's doable for small groups of enthusiasts but also can comfortably fit a large group (although "The Hidden Lab Mission" might have a bit more puzzles for a larger group to solve). We couldn't wait to get into the second room "The Hidden Lab Mission" which is the sequel to this room. LOCATION: Amherst, New Hampshire, USA Photos above are property of Break Free 603 Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 📝  ETR DECODER 🔑 GAME: The Skull 📅 DATE PLAYED: September 30, 2021 🎬 GENRE: Adventure, Mystery 🧠 DIFFICULTY (Based on 2 PPL): 6.5/10 👥 TOTAL # OF PLAYERS: Up To 10ppl 🕒 LENGTH OF TIME: 60 Mins 💰 PRICE: $90/Team (Min 2PPL) ☎️ BOOKINGTYPE: Private 🔓 ESCAPED/ COMPLETED?: Yes 📖 THE STORY Atlas James was an archaeologist who explored the world searching for rare artifacts. There was one relic in particular that was his prize possession - an artifact that he believed would change life as we know it! Unfortunately, while searching for it in the Valley of the Kings in Egypt, Atlas was never seen again...Can you discover the secret behind his disappearance and uncover the mystery behind this powerful relic?? Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE Anytime there's an Indiana Jones-inspired storyline, it's sure peaks my interest. Inside "The Skull", we definitely get the "Indie" vibes and by starting off inside of Professor Atlas James' office, we are already in adventure mode. The continuation of the story through various communication tools was well utilized. It felt like we're really looking at clues left behind to find this artifact. The set design started off simple and presented what you would expect from an office - a computer, curio, desk, photos, etc. The dramatic cinematic change was rather pleasing for the players as we progressed deeper into the game. We really liked one part of the game where it made us feel the urgency of the situation. The puzzle was really cleverly done. We haven't seen it anywhere before and it fit the situation perfectly. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK *Disclaimer - Breakfree 603 had some technical issues that morning. We can only presume certain things from what the owner had told us but we didn't fully experience it ourselves. (Update 10/29/21: Owner has informed us that more backstory about Atlas has been added and they've also fixed a lot of the automation in the game.) One puzzle felt like it was played out of order. If we didn't have access to it first then it wouldn't trigger as early. We really enjoy the storytelling aspect of the game but it wasn't used in any of the puzzles which felt like a lot of content just for backstory. Some parts of game had audio that was hard to hear clearly but it was important for the game. One puzzle needed certain part to be decoded and visually it was a bit hard to see the message. It would help perhaps to make it glow due to the distance. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? "The Skull" is one of Breakfree 603's newest games and it definitely had a fun and intriguing storyline. There were a couple of "aha" moments and things we didn't expect to happen but actually did! If you like the treasure hunter or alcohological discovery type of game, then you should challenge yourself to find the rare artifact in this expedition! • The Escape Room Experience - "CSI Murder Mystery"

LOCATION: Laconia, New Hampshire, USA Photos above are property of The Escape Room Experience Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 📝  ETR DECODER 🔑 GAME: CSI Murder Mystery 📅 DATE PLAYED: September 30, 2021 🎬 GENRE: Detective 🧠 DIFFICULTY (Based on 2 PPL): 7/10 👥 TOTAL # OF PLAYERS: Up To 8ppl 🕒 LENGTH OF TIME: 60 Mins 💰 PRICE: $30/PP ☎️ BOOKINGTYPE: Private 🔓 ESCAPED/ COMPLETED?: Yes 📖 THE STORY There's been a murder... It's 1972, county prosecutor Adam Phool's body has been found in his home. There are numerous suspects ranging from all of the enemies he's created to even his own wife who happens to be half his age! Your chief has just called you in to put you on the case. Can you narrow the suspects down to figure out who the killer is? Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE There were many suspects, each with a motive, different characteristics and back story. There's also a white board used in the room. It truly feels like we are detectives trying to crack this case. The usage of a simple "X" and "check mark" was great for the players to keep track of who we've eliminated and who's left. The puzzles gave clear direction as to who should be eliminated once we figured out the solution. This was a clever way to introduce the puzzles within the storyline. If you like opening locks then you're in luck. There's a TON of locked up chests and drawers for you to crack. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK There seem to be a disconnect between the set designs as one minute we're in the precinct's interrogation room and the next we're in the victim's home. But all the materials that we would see at a precinct (i.e. the white board) was set up in the victim's home. It would also be great to see an outline of the body of the victim in the apartment so it actually feels like a crime scene. We wish there was more for us to do in the interrogation room as we only utilized it for the briefing, figure out the entrance to the victim's home and one other puzzle towards the end. The interrogation room had some cool vibe and props that could easily be utilized for more puzzles. It could also easily become a team effort thing where one side starts off in the interrogation room and the other in the victims and they have to pass information to each other in order to solve puzzles in their rooms. Some puzzles felt like they were just giving information away where as others took a lot longer to decode. The easier puzzles sometimes got us to wonder if it's really that easy or were they red herrings. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? Overall, "CSI Murder Mystery" is very much to the board game "Clue". There are many characters in play with various motives, weapons and alibis. Some information will be found only through reading where as others are logic/Math/Riddle type of puzzles. There's a lot of puzzles in this room so we would suggest 3-4 players at least as it's quite spacious. As we are both huge murder mystery fans, we really enjoyed as the killer slowly surfaced with the information we found through solving the puzzles. Do you think you have what it takes to catch the killer? • Key to Escape - "The Blind Tiger"

LOCATION: Nashua, New Hampshire, USA Photos above are property of Key to Escape Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 📝  ETR DECODER 🔑 GAME: The Blind Tiger 📅 DATE PLAYED: October 1, 2021 🎬 GENRE: Adventure 🧠 DIFFICULTY (Based on 2 PPL): 7/10 👥 TOTAL # OF PLAYERS: 2-6 ppl 🕒 LENGTH OF TIME: 60 Mins 💰 PRICE: $34/PP ☎️ BOOKINGTYPE: Private 🔓 ESCAPED/ COMPLETED?: Yes 📖 THE STORY In 2050, an organization has taken over and renamed the old United States..."Nomis"! The new government has banned the citizens of Nomis their rights and freedom. As a result, a rebellious group known as "The Resistance" along with the rest of the United States has devised a plan to overthrow the Nomis government. Valuable intel was in transport to our city, but one of our rebels got caught. Luckily, she was able to hide the intel before getting captured and the coordinates of her last location was The Blind Tiger Chophouse. Now it's up to you to recover the intel and find the Resistance hideout before they capture you as well... Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE "The Blind Tiger" wasn't just a typical bar. Going in we already knew that there were going to be many secrets hidden with in and they definitely delivered in that aspect. The set design felt like an "off-the-grid" chophouse restaurant. The marble flooring, purple curtains, black wall paneling and black glossy ceiling tiles with gold accents everywhere gave the room a lot of character and a sense of secrecy. It feel very clean. Maybe a little too "clean". Key to Escape was able to utilize a lot of the props that were part of the restaurant to create puzzles. This really stuck to the theme of embedding secret messages within what we're trying to find. In this room, if you're unable to complete a puzzle, you'll know right away as you simply won't have enough information to come to a solid solution. Key to Escape was great at making this very clear to the players. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK There were one or two times that something triggered in the room that we're not sure what was activated. Since there is a need to go back and forth between rooms, it would be great to alert the "change" with light or a more obvious opening. The change in the second room in terms of lighting/set design wasn't as dramatic as we thought it would be since the restaurant is just a front so it would've been cool to see a more dimmer lit up room with a trail of what the other agent had left us. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? "The Blind Tiger" is set in the not-so-distant future and the speakeasy theme is a familiar take on what you would experience at some other companies. However, Key to Escape has managed to add a little twist to the storyline that provides a different type of experience. Key to Escape is also able to customize the level of difficulty for each of their games. You can request for easy, normal or hard. The difference is the actual clues you'll receive in the room as they'll give less cluing if you wanted a harder level. We tried this game in normal level and thought it was perfect for what we were looking for. Since we had some extra time that day and because Cici saw candy and her eyes lit up, we had to go their "House in the Woods" a go! • Key to Escape - "House in the Woods"

LOCATION: Nashua, New Hampshire, USA Photos above are property of Key to Escape Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 📝  ETR DECODER 🔑 GAME: House in the Woods 📅 DATE PLAYED: October 1, 2021 🎬 GENRE: Fantasy 🧠 DIFFICULTY (Based on 2 PPL): 6/10 👥 TOTAL # OF PLAYERS: 2-8 ppl 🕒 LENGTH OF TIME: 60 Mins 💰 PRICE: $34/PP ☎️ BOOKINGTYPE: Private 🔓 ESCAPED/ COMPLETED?: Yes 📖 THE STORY You and your friends are out hiking in the woods when all of a sudden, you come across a cottage covered in candy!! This seems too good to be true, but your curiosity gets the better of you. As you step foot inside to search around, the doors lock behind you trapping you and your friends inside. It appears that you have just volunteered yourself to dinner. Unfortunately, you're the main course... Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE We love how Key to Escape was able to bring the "Hansel & Gretel" vibe to life. The enticement of the candy-covered cottage leaving you trapped inside forever only to discover that previous victims have left you hints for your survival is what really makes "House in the Woods" unique. When you first step into the house, it actually smells sweet! It's as if we walked into a pleasant “Sugar Factory”. This room will bound to capture attention from little kids. You better make sure they don't start to eat the props in the room! Don't be fooled and think this room is for kids so puzzles should be easy. You'll still need to put that thinking cap on as there are a few tricky ones in there. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK The second room felt a bit plain in terms of set design in comparison to what they had put in to the first room. Because there's a lot of decor and art, some information might be interpreted as red herrings to experienced players. Some puzzles became confusing due to the fact that Key to Escape is able to alter the difficulty level as certain elements of the cluing is still on the same clue paper. Players will overthink at that point with the given material. It would be more clear if each level had a complete different set of clues and props. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? The inside of “House in the Woods” provides a glimpse of what every sweet-tooth's fantasy would look like. We definitely got distracted as even though we were playing the easy mode, we missed a few very important clues (too busy ogling over the candy and cookies). If you think you can conquer that temptation, go for the harder levels of the game! This game will be sure to bring out the inner kid in you! Just don't fight with your kids for the victory candy after!
