🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE

• Hannibal Lecter is by far the most immersive of the three rooms at Brainbox, with the most impressive set design that features a host of props which are scattered throughout the rooms which we work through. The decoration isn’t overly congested with items, but the limited number of pieces work nicely to create a somewhat dark atmosphere, but this is by no means a scary experience.

• The opening sequence is a particular highlight, featuring a set of cooperative puzzles that require both physical coordination and verbal teamwork as players work together to escape their initial confinement. This engaging start immediately draws players into the experience. While one of these early puzzles could benefit from slightly clearer guidance, the overall teamwork element is well-executed and enjoyable.
  

🧩 MISSED THE MARK

• While the game featured a few puzzles that were genuinely creative and engaging, several others felt overly vague and unintuitive. Too much time was spent confused about what we were supposed to do next, often resorting to guesswork rather than logic. It seemed these design choices were intended to increase difficulty, but they ended up causing more frustration than satisfaction.

• The ending was particularly underwhelming. The final puzzle felt disconnected from the story and lacked any real sense of climax or resolution—it didn’t feel like we had truly “escaped” or completed a meaningful objective.

🏹 TAKE A SHOT?

Though marketed as a horror-themed escape room, the atmosphere never really delivered on that promise. At no point did we feel scared or even unsettled, so those seeking genuine horror or tension might be disappointed. That said, this makes it a suitable option for players curious about darker aesthetics but hesitant about intense scares or jump moments.

The overall difficulty sits at a medium level, which could present a fair challenge for newer teams, though some of the more ambiguous puzzles may feel less rewarding.
