This is a self guided digital game to play with your friends, the platform has a built in video function which allows you to see and talk to each other on the same screen as the game takes place. You have 72 hours from purchase to start your game Once you begin you have 48 to complete the mission and the game saves your place if you need to come back to it later.

When the game starts, you and your team are transferred onto a spaceship. You examine the dock by clicking on items, finding tools and information. One of your first task is to clear the surroundings of space debris using your mouse button. There’s enough debris for the entire team to help. I found it to be a fun start to the game and teamwork.

Trip to Terra8 is played on the Telescape platform with it’s own custom made inventory system and holographic projections. Wow! You start at the dock and by solving tasks and puzzles you progress through the ship room by room.

The puzzles were fun but quite easy if you’ve played similar types of point-n-click games before. One was significantly harder than the rest of the puzzles and that one kind of caught us off guard.

There were something for everyone. You'll encounter a little bit of Math, a little bit of construction and the scientist of our team really appreciated an old school DNA sequencing method puzzle! There was a little bit of search and find but not a lot, it was mostly obvious what you were working on and what items you would need to solve the puzzles. One puzzle was hard to be worked on together as a team so one person did most of the maneuvering while the rest watched them in action. There were other times when 2 would collaborate together but we were hoping to see some puzzles that would've utilized all 4 of our collaborations.

Our favourite puzzle involved interpreting an alien language and we had a lot of fun trying to explain the different things to each other over zoom.

The puzzles were pretty straightforward but if you'll probably also encounter a few surprises. I thought that the game could benefit from pushing a bit harder on the storyline and matching the objectives to it. At times it felt like the puzzles were introduced randomly and didn’t necessarily help bring the story forward. They were mainly to make the game fun and entertaining like a video game. But all in all, playing Trip to Terra 8 was a fun way for our team to hang out together on a Wednesday night!
