🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE

  • This location has a really innovative way of starting your game. Everyone will be taking onto a time machine. Your game master will take you to the era where you will begin your journey.

  • The set design incorporated not only inside the temple but the outside as well. The tent and the reminisce left behind by the first team was a nice add on to the storyline.

  • Not sure if it's intentional but we actually felt much cooler in this room. We felt like we were actually outside under the starry night. Also we felt that eerie vibe right when we entered the temple.

  • There was an innovative puzzle towards the end where we had to confirm if we were actually supposed to do something.

  • There were puzzles that we had to associate what we had at the beginning with things we found later on. It was nice to be able to connect all the dots and utilize everything we found.

🧩 MISSED THE MARK

  • There was a puzzle towards the beginning of the room where we were unsure why such a prop would appear in the outside area of a tent.

  • We would love it if sound alerts could be added into the room (especially towards the beginning) as we were unsure what had opened. The GM had to inform us most of the time.

  • Some items in the room needed updating.

  • There was a puzzle in the room that had too many inputs. It felt like a time filler puzzle to us. It was also very time consuming to redo that puzzle if the team was running out of time. We suggest cutting down the amount of inputs.

  • There was a puzzle at the end that no longer works in the room. We suggest removing it so it's not seen as a red herring.

  • The ending could have just ended where we found an item rather than escaping with a key. We were unsure why we needed a key as the temple was already open.

🏹 TAKE A SHOT?

In terms of set design, this room was the best out of the 4 games we've played at Mystery Escape Room. Most of the temple games we've played would have us start in the temple already. It's definitely a unique thought process to include the entrance area. This room would be great for teams that have explorers with various skills. I would say memory and having a good ear for sound would be very helpful. If you think you have the right teammates in mind, then perhaps you're ready to unravel the mystery behind this Mayan Temple?
