📖 THE STORY
We are a group of archeologist going into an ancient Mayan Temple looking for hidden treasures. But the structure is not stable and can collapse any minute! We need to recover the treasure and most importantly come out alive!
🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE
The set design for this room gave us the vibe of entering a jungle.
The props used were fitting to the story line.
We enjoyed the mixture of physical as well as logic puzzles.
🧩 MISSED THE MARK
It would have been great if the latter part of the game wasn’t revealed at the beginning. If a “key” was needed to open up the gate, it would be more impactful for an entrance.
The clues by the game master needed to be clearer. We felt that it was hard for them to see our progress. We clearly missed a puzzle piece we found and didn’t think that was useful but did not get a clue to use it on a puzzle that we were stuck on.
One puzzle had an element that could be placed in different ways but there’s no clear instructions on which way it should be. The explanation that was given to us after the game was basically trial and error.
A puzzle that needed precision had to be adjusted in terms of its design since at times it was not reaching its designated position.
If lights and sound could be added to the room for “wow” reveals when puzzles are solved, it could have more of a mystical feel as a sacred Mayan Temple.
The walkie talkie’s channel changed since we’re moving around a lot in the room so for some time the game master did not even know we were asking for hints. It would be great to inform the players what channel they should be on in case this happens or tape/mark it down on the walkie talkie.
🏹 TAKE A SHOT?
We enjoyed the “Project Poseidon” room much more than this room mainly because the puzzles are more logical there. A larger group would really help with the final puzzle as it’s pretty time consuming. Our recommended size for this room is 4-6 people.
Check for a mark for your precision position.
