If you haven't played Night Terrors AND D'Vile's Curio Shoppe, this game might not make sense to you as it's the ending of this trilogy.

Numerous attempts have been made from various people to try to rescue Alex from the Sleepy Man and they all failed miserably. This is your last chance to find your missing teammates Sam and Alex.

Our game started with what seemed to be a distressed call from our avatar over Zoom. Initially I thought it was prerecorded since the scene started from outside. It was a clever way to start the game. This game has a total of 2 avatars so that at one point it's actually better to have the Zoom on gallery mode rather than pinning it on the main camera (Update: this issue has been fixed by the creator so the transition is now automatic). You'll figure out why that is during the game. It was quite different and we haven't experienced this type of integration in Zoom before but it worked really well with the storyline.

You'll still have the Telescape as your inventory system but the purpose of it for this game was more focused on the cinematics and narrative rather than using them as clues for puzzles. The set design, lighting, sound and camera usage were really well thought out. There were definitely moments that I got chills down my spine. At one point my palms were sweaty for the avatar and wanted to scream: "He's coming! Quick! Hide!" I don't want to giveaway too much but I really loved the way Mystery Mansion Regina was able to make the spiritual world come to "live" through an online production.

This was a story-driven experience rather than puzzle heavy game. You'll need to read through some information in order to understand the context behind a certain scene or what you'll need to do next. Since there is something evil lurking in the dark, you'll probably also need to learn a few spells.

I was kind of glad to be playing this game online than IRL as I don't think my mind can solve puzzles while having to worry about what's behind me. One thing Mystery Mansion Regina did really well on was the way they were able to utilize the two avatars. We've played games with two avatars before but it just felt like one is holding the camera and the other is just showing us the room. Both avatars here gave us their individual stories and later actually came together to help each other solve puzzles in order to escape as a team. This made the experience felt real like we're actually survivors from a horror house.

If you want to experience this game the right way, make sure you turn off your lights, put on your headphones and if possible, play this on a split screen. This is one of those games that you'll reminisce about even after the game has ended. Questions like "How did they do that?" and "OMG, did you see that?" kept popping out of us. If this was made into a horror movie, I would totally watch it. Afterwards, I'll probably be praying that the Sleepy Man doesn't come visit me in my dreams. Well enough introduction from me, are you ready for your nightmare to begin?
