📖 THE STORY

The barriers between the game worlds have been destroyed and now there's a war going on in the Land of Imagination. The evil King Kongo has taken over the land and it's up to you and The Resistance to restore peace to the world before it's too late!

🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE

  • "Imaginasium of Intrigue" had such a unique and intriguing storyline that got us excited before even entering the room. It felt like a combination of "Jumanji", "Super Mario Bros." "Wizard of Oz", and "The Terminator". During the debrief with Cooper, an army paratrooper with The Resistance, we immediately felt the sense of urgency and anticipation! Almost like that feeling when you pick up a controller and hit "start game", entering a world where you are the main protagonists out to stop the evil King Kongo!

  • As soon as we ventured inside, the first stage starts off inside of an ice cave right outside the secret entrance into the Land of Imagination (check out the spoiler free sneak peek video we made above but note that this is just the beginning). The set decor was very Nintendo-like with bright colors and the icy blue color actually gave us a sense of feeling like we're inside an igloo. Once we progressed onwards, our world was transformed as if we were Alice and had just entered wonderland! There were so many hidden spots and cool reveals. The scenery changes were so drastic that it made us feel like we've defected one level in a video and had moved on to the next.

  • You'll be surprised to find that all the props were made in house. There were some larger pieces that were really impressive and we loved how they were utilized at the perfect locations and moments.

  • The concept of having bonus puzzles on top of the normal puzzles that we need to complete to escape the room is like hitting a jackpot for enthusiasts. In this game, solving bonus puzzles will earn us various prizes like tokens, bananas, toys etc...The more you collect, the more you'll add to the score.

  • Because there's so many puzzles and routes to take, you can easily bring a large group of people. The puzzles varied from physical to logical to pure "search and find". Every player will be able to find something they're good at and contribute to the team.

🧩 MISSED THE MARK

  • There was one Math puzzle that got us somewhat confused on the logic. We're more thinking from a realistic angle but in reality just go for the "don't over think it" route.

🏹 TAKE A SHOT?

RI Riddle Room always tries to exceed the norm in their creativity and storyline. We took a peek at their upcoming room and already can't contain our excitement (who doesn't like amusement park?). "Imaginasium of Intrigue", like its name, took us out of the real world and put us into a video game. We immediately forgot about time as 60 minutes seemed to have flew by when we notified that we only had 1 minute left. Like playing a video game, we immediately felt like we wanted to get back in there so we can challenge ourselves again and solve the bonus puzzles we couldn't find or solve. This is such a fun room and we highly recommend giving it a try (especially if you have a large group). If you ever wondered what it would be like to step foot inside of a video game and becoming an avatar, besides VR, "Imaginasium of Intrigue" is the closest thing you'll get to that experience! If you are looking to claim the throne for highest points on that leaderboard, then you better hope you find the "golden banana" that's worth 1000 points! Good luck!
