As we completed our training with "GAME I + II. Join our Secret Society", we were eager to test out our detective skills on Chapter 1.2. The story began in Paris and the year was 1899. The main character for this game was Colette. She's a gorgeous cabaret dancer in Lapin Blanc. We just received all the clues from her dressing room since her disappearance. Perhaps there's more to this disappearance than meets the eye.

There were a lot of small pieces of reading materials in this envelope: a postcard, a newspaper clipping and a letter. Other items included a sheet of paper with letters and numbers, an encyclopedia page, a picture of Colette's dressing room (with QR codes) and a card. If you scan the QR codes, you'll receive an intro video on Youtube. If you prefer to play the game with some background music, there's a recommended soundtrack on Spotify.

There are essentially two parts to this mystery. The first goal is to open the jewelry box and once that's opened, you'll receive a website with new information that you can use to solve the latter part of the storyline. You should definitely use the hint website if you get stuck (but not before you solve a mini puzzle first). Our hint for you for the hint website is to look at "it" from a different perspective.

We liked assembling all of the small game pieces together like a detective on a case. It was quite gratifying when we found the embedded message in each of the clues which ultimately helped us solve the mystery. The puzzles were definitely harder than the previous games. One puzzle took us quite awhile to piece together (scissor was required for this puzzle). Another multi-step puzzle (towards the end) was also quite challenging as well. We were a bit confused by the color on one of the puzzles as visually it didn't really match what we thought the solution would be. You'll also encounter some digital component which we thought made the experience more immersive for us. Instead of just entering a code, you'll be lead to a website which will either reward you with more information or a video revealing more on the story line. The final reveal in the twist of the story was quite satisfying but we couldn't really understand what our next mission was as the secret voice sounded a bit muffled. I guess we'll just have to wait and see!
