🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE

  • Other than props like control panels, steel doors and a huge window to see through into the ocean, The Escape Game did a great job with sound and lighting that really made us feel like we've been submerged into the deep sea.

  • One thing we noticed that a lot of the other submarine games we've played before would use are instructions. The creators of "Depths" balanced the design of this element really well as besides completing easy to follow instructions, many other puzzles actually involved solving.

  • There was an interactive element towards the end of the game that was pure fun for the team and it wasn't too long of a repeat to become an annoyance. Even as a team of two it was easily doable.

  • The Escape Game always keeps a storyline in mind. We do appreciate the surprising discovery towards the end and the slow reveal.

🧩 MISSED THE MARK

  • One of the puzzles involved identifying photos with actual props in the room. The photos were confusing to match up as some felt inaccurate.

  • One of the props used could be assumed as something that could not be solved until later on due to the clue that was provided early on. We had left this puzzle unsolved for awhile until we noticed that it's relevant to something else.

🏹 TAKE A SHOT?

As we played through "The Depths", the puzzles and storyline perfectly mimicked what would happen if we're really on a mission into the deep sea. How to access secret compartments, navigate the ocean floor and actually prepare for a sudden situation were all part of the excitements of this game. If you haven't tried this game yet, it's definitely a fun experience for beginners or enthusiasts. And make sure you watch out for some Easter eggs hidden inside the room during the creation process!
