In 1926, Detective Inspector Jane Waterstone received the news that someone had stolen a precious piece of jewelry, Tiger’s Eye, from the Kensington Museum. The detective began investigating the crime scene, and she met eight suspects who seemed to be hiding some secrets. Can she figure out who stole the gemstone and catch the culprit?

I loved the design and pictures of the book. Those images fit well with the story and puzzles. Those created the atmosphere of an exciting classic detective story in 1920s London and helped enhance the immersive feeling.

There are instructions on how to play the game at the beginning of the book. Once you understand what to do, you can start reading the story, solve the puzzles on the page, and move on to the next page. You scan QR codes for some puzzles to enter the answers. The information sheet is available to organize the information about each suspect to figure out the culprit in the end. Hints and solutions are written in the book separately, and you can also see those on the website.

This puzzle book has two parts: solving the puzzles to collect information about suspects first and then solving the crime. I enjoyed imagining the exploration in the museum, meeting unique suspects, and solving the puzzles. Many of the puzzles were decoding ciphers and logic puzzles. Some were classic and straightforward. Some were unique. It was great that they made sense and reflected the diverse scenes of the museum. I liked how the story and puzzles progressed toward the end. I was impressed by how the answers to these puzzles and information found along the way were integrated to figure out the criminal. The information sheet made it easier to deduct the criminal. (Do not forget to write down the information you find!) The ending reminded me of a classic comical detective story that I love. I felt like being a detective in London and solving a crime! I really enjoyed this game book a lot.
