🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE

  • Love the lighting in this room. The blue light really accentuated the Mayan colors.

  • The stone walls, wooden crates, and scriptures on the wall made us feel like archaeologists. Without giving away any spoilers, there was a moment in the game that we had to confirm with our game master if we're doing anything wrong. Once we heard we are not "breaking" any rules, our inner "hulks" came out. That was an unforgettable moment and something we haven't experienced as a set design component in other escape rooms. They also had a clever way of reusing the items.

  • The creator had innovative ideas on how to reuse certain props that we didn't think would be relevant anymore. It was nice to see that being implemented into an actual puzzle.

🧩 MISSED THE MARK

  • The lighting was too "happy" for the theme of the game. We were hoping for a bit more eerie type of feeling as we find out what had happen to the crew. Perhaps a change in the storyline will make the set design more reasonable.

  • Certain triggers were quite sensitive. We solved two puzzles without knowing what we had pressed.

  • The conclusion seems unclear. We're not sure what exactly happened to the previous team members.

🏹 TAKE A SHOT?

"Mayan Ruins" is definitely build for adventurers that would make you feel like Nathan Drake or Lara Croft. It's not too difficult for beginners and perhaps this room will lure you into want to play more escape rooms after you discover the secrets within. If you think you and your team mates have what it takes then sign up for the mission now!
