  • Red Door Escape Room (Las Vegas) - "Borderlands: Tannis's Lab"

LOCATION: Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Photo above is property of Red Door Escape Room (Las Vegas) Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 📝   ETR DECODER 🔑 GAME : Borderlands: Tannis's Lab 📅 DATE PLAYED : November 9, 2025 🎬 GENRE : Sci-Fi, Action 🧠 DIFFICULTY (Based on 3 ppl) : 6/10 👥 TOTAL # OF PLAYERS : 2-6 ppl 🕒 LENGTH OF TIME : 60 Mins. 💰 PRICE : $39.95/ pp ☎️ BOOKING TYPE : Private 🔓 ESCAPED/ COMPLETED? : Yes 📖 THE STORY Red Door teamed up with 2K Games and Nerdvana to build a real-life slice of the Borderlands universe and Tannis’ Lab lands with all the game’s wild, irreverent energy. You’re recruited to stabilize and power up a vault key and then put it to use. If you’ve played the game, the in-jokes and lore will land and amplify the fun (we imagine). If you haven’t, the plot can feel a bit murky, but that doesn’t stop the room from delivering on the look and the weirdness that Borderlands is known for. Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🎯    HIT THE BULLSEYE Set design & vibe : The lab nails that cartoon-punk sci-fi aesthetic with futuristic machinery, piles of gadgets, and the sort of delightful clutter that reads instantly as Borderlands. Big, bold, and weirdly playful (considering all the guns), it was our favorite environment of the three Red Door rooms we played Tech that works : We always appreciate when a game that is so gadget-forward (tablets, custom machines and devices, and lots of interactive tech) where everything functions smoothly! The tech feels integral to the game and the experience. Character work : A quirky, thematic character (a fun robot-y presence) helps shepherd you through the lab. Whether or not they’re a canonical NPC from the game, they’re charming, and their personality adds a lot to the experience. (Some people might find him a bit over the top, but I was a big fan!) Moments of levity : The room leans into some seriously goofy and irreverent energy with little flourishes (including a brief, delightful dance moment) that are pure joy if you let them land. Mission guidance : The tablet can guide you through objectives when you need it, which is handy; sometimes you’ll spot the next move without it, but it’s a sensible safety net if you’re unsure what your next step should be. 🧩   MISSED THE MARK Narrative clarity: As players unfamiliar with the video game on which the room is based, we had a hard time really understanding the story. While it didn’t impact actual gameplay, it seems like a little more exposition about what’s going on would help all players to engage with and follow the narrative. Terminology hiccup : Calling mandatory objectives “side missions” adds a small layer of head-scratching from the start. Staff do warn you in the intro, but the wording seems unnecessarily misleading, even if it may be a nod to the video game. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? If you love " Borderlands ", Tannis’s Lab is a must-visit. While we couldn’t recognize them ourselves, we’re confident the Easter eggs, tone, and set dressing will reward your fandom. But if you’re coming in cold, like us, don’t worry! The room still delivers on immersion, polished tech, and playful moments; just be prepared not to be too focused on the story. This is primarily a single-space romp with a few pockets to open up, so expect concentrated, gadget-forward puzzling and plenty of tactile interaction. Fans of strong set design and character-driven quirks will get the most mileage here. For folks who want a big, theatrical, game-accurate environment and don’t mind leaning into the chaos, this one’s a blast! 🔎 HINT Take a careful sweep to find what’s immediately accessible… Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers ℹ️   ADDITIONAL INFO The lobby/waiting area where you check in also has merch for sale and a small amount of seating. There also are bathrooms available, and each escape room has a small box in which to put your things. Parking can be tricky, so allow extra time if driving yourself and look for a paid lot. Otherwise, it is right on the strip and walkable from many local hotels. • Red Door Escape Room (Las Vegas) - "The Relic"

LOCATION: Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Photo above is property of Red Door Escape Room (Las Vegas) Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 📝   ETR DECODER 🔑 GAME : The Relic 📅 DATE PLAYED : November 9, 2025 🎬 GENRE : Adventure, Archaeology 🧠 DIFFICULTY (Based on 3 ppl) : 6/10 👥 TOTAL # OF PLAYERS : 2-6 ppl 🕒 LENGTH OF TIME : 60 Mins. 💰 PRICE : $39.95/ pp ☎️ BOOKING TYPE : Private 🔓 ESCAPED/ COMPLETED? : Yes 📖 THE STORY You’re stepping into the aftermath of an archaeological dig gone very wrong: the team that uncovered an ancient relic has mysteriously vanished, leaving behind half-finished translations and ominous clues. Your task? Track down five obelisks to steal the relic’s power before the dark presence tied to it tightens its grip and you befall the same fate as those before you… Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🎯    HIT THE BULLSEYE Nonlinear structure where each obelisk has its own puzzle track is great for divide-and-conquer teams…and perhaps generally recommended. It’s not a big space, but there’s lots to do! Dim, atmospheric lighting enhances the excavation vibe, but you’re given a flashlight so you’re never fumbling blindly. (I still appreciate the little things!) Every so often, the ancient being “curses” you, forcing you to pause your excavation and appease whatever lurks beneath the surface. This unusual mechanic adds a fun, unexpected flavor to the experience and breaks up the pacing in a memorable way. A cohesive space that feels like a true archaeologist’s camp (mechanical locks, artifacts, tools) but enhanced by bits of tech-infused mysticism from “the presence” and a standout altar feature. While some puzzles were more standard, several stood out as particularly clever and unusual and for the most part they made sense with the theme and story. 🧩   MISSED THE MARK Although we solved it, the scent-based puzzle included several fragrances that were a little too similar, and one we couldn’t smell at all (likely in need of a refresh). Similarly, a sound-based puzzle featured a couple of items that were also very similar, though the limited options kept it solvable. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? Searchers, rejoice! This room rewards a careful eye, though some items are so well tucked away that you’ll probably only discover them once you find the clue pointing you there. (That said, a truly elite searcher could jump ahead a bit, but might then get frustrated after having spent time solving a puzzle that just tells you where it was...) The Relic mostly plays out in one primary space, with a few small reveals along the way, so don’t expect sweeping environments or sprawling exploration. What you will get is a well-constructed, traditional-leaning room with a satisfying mix of mechanical locks, a sprinkling of tech, clear puzzle logic, and a steady adventure vibe. It’s not trying to redefine the genre, but it is a well-executed, all-around enjoyable dig. Definitely my overall favorite of the three rooms I played at this Red Door location. A well-delivered, entertaining choice for teams who love classic escape room structure with just a hint of the arcane. 🔎 HINT You have a flashlight. You’re allowed to shine it freely (if your hands fail you). Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers ℹ️   ADDITIONAL INFO The lobby/waiting area where you check in also has merch for sale and a small amount of seating. • Captured Escape Rooms - "Prohibition: Last Call"

LOCATION: Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Photo above is property of Captured Escape Rooms Photos above are property of Captured Escape Rooms 📝   ETR DECODER 🔑 GAME : Prohibition: Last Call 📅 DATE PLAYED : July 24, 2024 🎬 GENRE : Speakeasy 🧠 DIFFICULTY (Based on 6 ppl) : 7/10 👥 TOTAL # OF PLAYERS : 4-14 ppl 🕒 LENGTH OF TIME : 60 Mins. 💰 PRICE : $32.00/ pp (adults), $29.00/ pp (students) ☎️ BOOKING TYPE : Private 🔓 ESCAPED/ COMPLETED? : No 📖 THE STORY You received a mysterious invitation to "The Party of the Decade" at Smugglers End, a local speakeasy. After arriving, you realize you were the only one invited and are being framed for a major liquor smuggling operation. With your fingerprints all over the place, you must discover who framed you and find a way to escape before the “fuzz” arrives. 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE The set design was beautifully done with the feel of a speakeasy with old barrels, vintage significant props and even a doorway in through a laundromat. Some of the puzzles were clever in the way they were executed, using the theme, the props and the atmosphere of the speakeasy to blend it all together. With a lot of props used to decorate the room, there were a lot of things fixed into place to avoid confusion as to what should be used and what should not be used. The game continued to reveal new things as we progressed with some great surprises. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK There were a few red herrings that could have been avoided as well as a few lock inputs that were the same and no cluing as to where the solution should go. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? " Prohibition: Last Call " was pleasing to the eyes and had some solid puzzles that blended into the room. There were some fun reveals as we navigated through the game. Though most of the room was low tech, they had some great elements that used tech where it counted. We played with 6 people and found there was room to move around. 8 people feels like it would be the maximum. This room would be great for anyone who enjoys a speakeasy theme or a challenging escape room. ℹ️   ADDITIONAL INFO Paid street parking available Lobby with seating area 4th Floor of building with elevator Boardgames for sale Part of the “We the Enthusiasts” Escape Room Passport Photo above is property of Captured Escape Rooms (If you do decide to try this game, give us a shoutout or tag us on social media so we know you heard it from " ESCAPETHEROOMers "!) #MatthewLui #IRLescaperoom #EscapeRooms #CapturedEscapeRooms #Speakeasy #Halifax #NovaScotia #Canada

  • Trapped! Escape Room Las Vegas - "One Eyed Jack"

LOCATION: Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Photo above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 📝   ETR DECODER 🔑 GAME : One Eyed Jack 📅 DATE PLAYED : November 11, 2019 🎬 GENRE : Thriller, Suspense 🧠 DIFFICULTY (Based on 2 ppl) : 7.5/10 👥 TOTAL # OF PLAYERS : 2-8 ppl 🕒 LENGTH OF TIME : 60 Mins 💰 PRICE : $33.00 - $45.00/ pp ☎️ BOOKING TYPE : Private 🔓 ESCAPED/ COMPLETED? : Yes 📖 THE STORY Despite the warning of the serial killer “One Eyed Jack” being in town, you still went out with your friends. The last thing you remember is taking a sip of your drink. When you woke up, you knew you had to get out of wherever you are… FAST! 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE The set design felt like we were trapped in the cell of a dungeon. We even felt a bit of wind which gave us chills at times. All the props were well made and felt authentic. There was a puzzle we really enjoyed as we’ve never seen that before but made us use our thought process in a real-life kidnapped situation. Loved the physical puzzle that was incorporated in the room. The flow of the game was smooth and we really appreciated the light and sound effects that came with a “reveal” when we solved a puzzle. This makes it very easy to see what opened and it felt rewarding.   Special effects were nicely done although we missed one during the game since we completed a puzzle too quickly and triggered something simultaneously. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK One of the puzzles at the beginning was a bit hard to see from a distance. Perhaps just a little bit of dim dungeon light would help. Not enough for a reveal but would help see better when the time comes to solve the puzzle. There was one flashlight that we had to share among the both of us which made it hard to solve some of the puzzles at the beginning. If the group is large, it would best to at least give several lights so everyone could at least visualize and search. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? Trapped! Escape Room Las Vegas has a sister company called Lost Games. They are also in Las Vegas. You can check out our review for their game. We feel like the quality of their rooms are very consistent. It just so happens we chose both of their horror themed rooms and both were amazing. This one also made it to our "Top Rated" list. We hope to try some of their other concept rooms when we return to Vegas next time to see their other creativities. No matter if you are an enthusiasts or just started to play escape rooms, you’ll enjoy this room. The puzzles are not too difficult, but it puts you into a real-life immersive setting which is why most of us play escape rooms. We like to escape from our reality into another even if it's just 60 minutes of our time. Our recommended size for this room is 3-5 people. Let us know your opinion after trying out the room and if you tried their other rooms before, we love to hear your thoughts! ℹ️    ADDITIONAL INFO Free parking lot right in front of the location Lobby with waiting area and puzzles Drinks for purchase Party room available Please wear appropriate footwear (no high heels, or shoes with no traction) You may be exposed to water, heat, strobe and other effects This experience is not scary. Escape Room Las Vegas to play the updated version of " One Eyed Jack " in November 2023!! They have a Halloween version of this room but we did the regular version. • Trapped! Escape Room Las Vegas - "The Lair of the Puzzle Master"

LOCATION: Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Photo above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 📝   ETR DECODER 🔑 GAME : The Lair of the Puzzle Master 📅 DATE PLAYED : August 24, 2022 🎬 GENRE : Thriller 🧠 DIFFICULTY (Based on 2 ppl) : 6/10 👥 TOTAL # OF PLAYERS : 3-10 ppl 🕒 LENGTH OF TIME : 60 Mins 💰 PRICE : $35.00 - $45.00/ pp ☎️ BOOKING TYPE : Private 🔓 ESCAPED/ COMPLETED? : Yes 📖 THE STORY You've been tracking down "The Puzzlemaster" for ages and finally you've discovered the location of his lair. Upon entering, you realize that he's been waiting for your arrival... Will you be able to outsmart his traps? Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE Being in a Puzzlemaster's lair, you already know that you'll be encountering a lot of challenges and this room had plenty. It was nice to be able to divide and conquer as well. The game flow was great. Besides a few incidences on not being able to find something (we're just not great at "search and find" components), the game went quite smoothly. Clues were well written in the sense that it all felt like riddles left behind by a Puzzlemaster. They were challenging enough to make you connect your observations with the physical objects in the room. The game had an interesting alternate ending which pending on how well you did with the last puzzle, you might see one or the other. We did however successfully complete the last puzzle and were able to witness the happy ending (the game masters also showed us the alternate ending). To be honest, it's actually more exciting to fail since you'll experience a bonus puzzle too! 🧩 MISSED THE MARK There was a physical puzzle that could be quite easy to solve being that I have small fingers. I wonder if a fail safe element could be incorporated to prevent that? There was a button in the room that could be confused with an emergency exit button. Perhaps changing it to another shape would be the best. The entrance to the next room seemed a bit obvious to enthusiasts in this room. Being that it's a Puzzlemaster's lair, we thought it would be more hidden. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? This is one of their older rooms at Trapped! You'll see more traditional puzzle ideas and props rather than their other techier rooms. However, we love "locks and keys" and would take those all day long in and escape room. There were a lot of puzzles in this room that bought back some good memories. If you are just starting out your escape room adventures and want to learn the ropes, this game could definitely be a good training room to brush up your agent skills. Once you are warmed up, definitely check out their other rooms at this location: " Operation X-13 " , " One Eyed Jack " and their newest room " Pandora's Box "! ℹ️ ADDITIONAL INFO Free parking lot right in front of the location Lobby with waiting area and puzzles Drinks for purchase Party room available Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers (If you do decide to try this game, give us a shoutout or tag us on social media so we know you heard it from " ESCAPETHEROOMers "!) • Trapped! Escape Room Las Vegas - "Pandora's Box"

LOCATION: Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Photo above is property of Trapped! Escape Room Las Vegas Photo above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 📝    ETR DECODER 🔑 GAME : Pandora's Box 📅 DATE PLAYED : August 24, 2022 🎬 GENRE : Mystical 🧠 DIFFICULTY (Based on 2 ppl) : 6.5/10 👥 TOTAL # OF PLAYERS : 2-6 ppl 🕒 LENGTH OF TIME : 60 Mins 💰 PRICE : $35.00 - $45.00/ pp ☎️ BOOKING TYPE : Private 🔓 ESCAPED/ COMPLETED? : Yes 📖 THE STORY Max Fortune is an adventurer, archaeologist and collector. He has recovered the prize of his collection, the artifact known as “Pandora’s Box”. You only have one hour to discover the secrets within before his arch-nemesis tries to take it away! Hurry! Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE This room was not just a game but a sensory experience. By using special effects such as lights, sound and even water at times, we were able to see, feel, hear and smell the changes throughout the game. Although the game's centerpiece is the box, there's so much more to it than that and we're surprised by how much was hidden from the surface of it all. The set design was on point being that we're in an old attic but as the story develops, the transformation was quite dramatic. Props were carefully considered to fit into that era. Even the hint system was cleverly designed to accompany the storyline. We were never once taken out of the story nor did we feel like we're in an escape room. The puzzles were designed to feel cinematic. Every solution is like an end of a chapter. We were never lost because there were always something that guided us along the way. This game is customizable. If you are running low on time, you can still finish the game but won't reach the bonus puzzles. But if you have extra time, the game will reveal the bonus puzzles to you. We completed all the bonus puzzles and it was definitely worth seeing the complete picture. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK We really enjoyed this game and there's not much to say about it in this section. One thing I do want to mention is that this game is better suited for smaller groups. There are puzzles that are easier to figure out with one person rather than too many cooks in the kitchen. The puzzles are mostly linear so if you have a bigger group, at times some of the players may end up being spectators (which in this room might not be a bad thing as you'll notice constant changes). 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? For anyone who's played "The Room" by Fireproof Studios before, this escape room brought it to life. It didn't only have the intricate designs on the box but also the immersion along with every trigger that surrounds the box. The storyline, the special effects and the puzzles were all well thought out to reveal the origin of this mysterious box. Why is it here in an old attic? What does it do? It was truly a masterpiece and we enjoyed every bits of it by peeling off the secrets layer by layer. If you are ever in Las Vegas, you'll need to take the time to open the Pandora's Box! ℹ️ ADDITIONAL INFO Free parking lot right in front of the location Lobby with waiting area and puzzles Drinks for purchase Party room available Please wear appropriate footwear (no high heels, or shoes with no traction) You may be exposed to water, heat, strobe and other effects This experience is not scary. • The Escape Ventures - "Click 'N Glitch: Arcade Palace"

LOCATION: Port Charlotte, Florida, USA Photo above is property of The Escape Ventures Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 📝   ETR DECODER 🔑 GAME : Click 'N Glitch: Arcade Palace 📅 DATE PLAYED : January 16, 2026 🎬 GENRE : Adventure 🧠 DIFFICULTY (Based on 3 ppl) : 7/10 👥 TOTAL # OF PLAYERS : 2-6 ppl 🕒 LENGTH OF TIME : 60 Mins. 💰 PRICE : Starting at $42.99/ pp ☎️ BOOKING TYPE : Private 🔓 ESCAPED/ COMPLETED? : Yes 📖 THE STORY It’s 1985, and the gang’s all here. The weekend has arrived, the arcade is calling, and one thing stands between you and eternal middle school glory: Big Stanky, the reigning bully of Eagle Wood Middle School. When the Click ’N Glitch Arcade Palace unveils its newest game, The Great Cheesy Chase, Big Stanky plants himself in front of the machine all day to ensure he maintains the high score. Naturally, the only reasonable option therefore is to break in after closing to beat his record. Can you outsmart the bully, beat the high score, and cement your legacy as arcade legends without getting caught by the security guard? You would be SO grounded… 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE Pure middle school energy: This room fully commits to its juvenile, mischievous spirit in the best possible way. It’s silly, slightly gross, a little rebellious, and (for those of us who grew up in the 80’s) deeply nostalgic. We got to be braver, bolder versions of our actual middle school selves. It was an unusual escape room theme, and we totally dug it! Rad ’80s arcade vibes: The environment is cohesive and immersive, with a strong color palette, playful details, and plenty of nods to classic video games that had us grinning the whole time. Lock-heavy but logical: True to Escape Ventures Port Charlotte form, there are lots of locks, but everything is clearly linked. There’s no second-guessing which code goes where. Live actor adds fun without pressure: Non-scary live actor moments add comedy, story elements that help you further channel your inner preteen, and serve as the in-game hint system. It’s theatrical and over-the-top without requiring much improvisation, making it more accessible even for folks who are wary of actor interaction. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK One misleading visual: A specific graphic pulled our attention in the wrong direction because it closely resembled another plausible environmental element. Slight letdown: The final main task didn’t quite land with the same punch as the rest of the experience, feeling a bit anticlimactic after such a great buildup. (Though there was a final bit after that which re-raised the energy!) 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? If you have even a shred of juvenile humor in your soul (or fond memories of sticky arcade floors and button-mashing glory), this one’s a blast. Despite being the most lighthearted and family-friendly theme at the Port Charlotte location, it’s also the most difficult, with plenty to keep enthusiasts busy. The theme is refreshingly original, the environment is immersive and playful, and the live actor adds great entertainment value without a lot of pressure. Come for the nostalgia, stay for the challenge, and leave dreaming of arcade legends, middle school bravado, and the sweet satisfaction of finally beating the bully! ℹ️ ADDITIONAL INFO This location has free parking outside. You have use of lockers, bathroom, and a small seating area. Visitors are invited to explore this space barefoot, navigating through vast, immersive artworks that feature elements such as water, flowers, and mirrors. This design fosters a sensory experience that seamlessly blends art with reality. Created by the teamLab art collective, the museum is celebrated for its unique approach, enabling visitors to become an integral part of the artwork, often wading through water and interacting with digital elements. Get ready for an exciting adventure through the 4 incredible areas of teamLab: Forest, Water, Garden, and Open-Air! We highly recommend diving into the Water area first. Why? Because you might get a little wet—and that's all part of the fun! Don't worry, they provide towels to keep you comfortable. Leave the Open-Air section at the end so you'll have time to dry off! Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers WATER Once you check in, the first thing you need to do is to take off your shoes. They offer free lockers where you can store all your stuff. Except for your camera or phone, everything else needs to go in the locker. In this water section, you'll have a few chances to wade through water (it might be knee-high depending on how tall you are). After each water experience, there's a drying station where you can use free towels to dry your feet before moving on with your adventure. Here are some must-see highlights of this experience: Soft Black Hole - Balancing here is like trying to walk a tightrope after a few too many drinks, but once you get the hang of it, it's as relaxing as lounging on a giant marshmallow. It's like strolling on sand dunes, but without the gritty exfoliation. Waterfall of Light Particles at the Top of an Incline - This is the kind of place where your camera will feel like it's on a Hollywood red carpet. Don't miss your chance to snap a pic! Ephemeral Crystallized Light - In one word: mesmerizing. In two words: jaw-droppingly mesmerizing. Expanding Three-dimensional Existence in Transforming Space - It's like a playground for grown-ups! Giant balls to gently nudge around and another prime spot for snapping selfies. Floating in the Falling Universe of Flowers - If spinning in circles makes you woozy, maybe don't linger too long here. But if you can handle a little dizziness, it's like being in a floral kaleidoscope. The Infinite Crystal Universe - Download an app and become the master of light! Just remember, you're in a color-changing duel with everyone else, so patience is key while waiting for your turn. Drawing on the Water Surface Created by the Dance of Koi and People - Watching koi fish swim around you will have you channeling your inner cat, trying to catch them with your hands. Just don't fall in! Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers ATHLETICS FOREST You'll need to stash your stuff in the locker again, but this time you'll be wearing shoes. If you don't have sneakers, don't worry—they'll hook you up with a free pair that's safe for the artworks inside. Here are some highlights: Rapidly Rotating Bouncing Spheres in the Caterpillar House - Some balls have more bounce than a hyperactive kangaroo, making them trickier to hop across. I went for the red ones because they were the firmest, making them the easiest to handle. So, don't hesitate to chat with the staff and pick the level that won't leave you bouncing off the walls! Aerial Climbing through a Flock of Colored Birds - These glow-in-the-dark color beams are like a neon jungle gym for grown-ups! Just watch out for those sneaky lane hoppers who might decide your lane looks more fun than theirs. Keep your eyes peeled and your balance steady! Balance Stepping Stones in the Invisible World - Bigger surfaces are like balancing on a fluffy cloud—easier to stay upright but as soft as a marshmallow. And if you do take a tumble, fear not! Only your ego will take a hit! Sliding through the Fruit Field - What a fun slide! Must do! Future Park (Sketch Umwelt World) - Watching our doodles spring to life was an absolute riot! This spot is also perfect for giving your feet a well-deserved break. Plus, if you download their App, you can play puppet master with your masterpiece! And if you’re head over heels for your artwork, you can even take it home by crafting a keepsake in their Sketch Factory. Just download their App, and you’re all set to make some virtual critters wish they had stayed in bed. This place feels like stepping into an "Avatar" movie, minus the blue people. Once you’ve nabbed an extinct creature, you’ll unlock its bio. Catch the same one three times, and you’ll unlock the full dossier! Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers GARDEN This was the last spot we checked out. As you walk up to the flowers, they move up, making it look like they're alive. It's an awesome place to snap some photos. If you're interested in taking one home, swing by their Living Art store. We missed the Moss Garden of Resonating Microcosms this time, but it's definitely on our list for next time. Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers We didn't get to check out the Glass House (they've got tea, sake, and art) or Emptiness Table (ramen, art, and a tea experience) this time around. It showcases immersive artworks that fluidly transition between spaces, creating an interactive environment through the integration of light, sound, and technology. This setup enables visitors to engage with and influence art that blends with elements of nature, science, and other artworks. Acclaimed for its stunning visuals, such as the Infinite Crystal World, and interactive exhibits like drawing your own fish to swim in an artwork of ocean, it provides a distinctive sensory experience. This makes it a captivating and boundless journey of exploration. You'll find teamLab Borderless in the B level of Azabudai Hills Garden Plaza. There are loads of places to shop and eat nearby, including an amazing food hall. When you arrive, you'll get free lockers to stash all your stuff, except for your phone or camera. This experience offers an entirely fresh vibe and concept compared to teamLab Planets! There's no map or guidance here, adding to the thrill. The art pieces are dynamic, constantly moving, so when you revisit a space, it might transform into an entirely different view the second time around. Here are some highlights from our visit: Borderless World - We totally got lost in here. There's no map, so we're just wandering around aimlessly. Various doors or entrances would "magically" pop up here and there (if we're lucky). Since the art changes so often, sometimes we can't even tell if we've already been to a room or not. It's the unknown and the feeling of being lost in a maze that really excited us. Just a heads up, the art exhibit we saw in Dec 2025 might not be the same one you experience, as the artwork keeps moving around the space. Bubble Universe - These looked like giant lightbulbs trapped in bubbles—absolutely mind-blowing! It's a top-notch spot for snapping pics, and honestly, it's my all-time favorite exhibit! EN TEA HOUSE -We had a blast kicking back and giving our feet a break while diving into the world of tea. Every tea cup here is like a mini art show, making you feel like you've got a flower garden blooming right in your drink. The catch? This magical art only appears if you've got tea in the cup. So sip slowly! Infinite Crystal World - This place lets you play color maestro with the crystals using an app! It's like being Picasso, but with a tech twist! Memory of Topography -Strolling through these flower petals felt like a zen master’s dream. Just a heads-up: tiptoe like a ninja and stick to the path, because these beauties are as fragile as my grandma’s porcelain collection! Megalith Crystal Formation - You'll feel like you've accidentally stumbled into a lava lamp, surrounded by a collection of molten marshmallows! Future Park (Sketch Ocean) - This area features an artworks where you can draw your own sea creature and bring it to life. However, having already experienced this at teamLab Planet, we chose not to do it here. If you visit Sketch Factory, you can take your art home as a souvenir. 🤔 IN CONCLUSION Which one is better, you ask? It's a tough call to make! It's all about personal preference. If you love a guided experience and enjoy the satisfaction of checking things off your list, then teamLab Planets is perfect for you! It offers a complete sensory overload that will leave you feeling fulfilled. On the other hand, teamLab Borderless is ideal for those who thrive on exploring the unknown and embracing surprises. You might feel like you missed something, as there's always more to discover, which makes you want to return again and again! Both of these incredible places are must-visits in Japan. If you can only choose one, I'd recommend teamLab Planet. No matter which you pick, I promise you won't be disappointed. So, book your teamLab experience now! • Evasive Escape Rooms - "EXTERMINATED: Terror at the Junkyard"

LOCATION: Sarasota, Florida, USA Photo above is property of Evasive Escape Rooms Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 📝   ETR DECODER 🔑 GAME : EXTERMINATED: Terror at the Junkyard 📅 DATE PLAYED : January 16, 2026 🎬 GENRE : Horror 🧠 DIFFICULTY (Based on 2 ppl) : 7/10 👥 TOTAL # OF PLAYERS : 2-6 ppl 🕒 LENGTH OF TIME : 60 Mins. 💰 PRICE : Starting at $44.99/ pp ☎️ BOOKING TYPE : Private 🔓 ESCAPED/ COMPLETED? : Yes 📖 THE STORY You’ve been called in to handle a persistent vermin problem at the local junkyard. The owner insists these aren’t your average pests... still, you’re professionals. You’ve got your gear, your grit, and your Vermin Vanquishers swagger… what could possibly go wrong? 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE A refreshingly original theme: We play a lot of escape rooms, and it’s rare to see a concept this unusual, and they fully commit to it. From the jump, this room felt different in the best possible way. Fun-scary mix: This room walks a great line between campy humor and genuine tension. There are real jump scares, but they tell you in advance you won’t be touched, which helps you lean into the fear without fully panicking. It definitely triggered a few “Do I really have to do that?” moments but also some laughs. Full junkyard immersion: The set design, including audio, scents, and tactile elements, really sell the environment. It’s not a big space, but it’s used incredibly well, and there’s great attention to detail. Clarity amid chaos: Even with all the visual mayhem you might expect in a junkyard, we could generally tell what was in play versus what was just grimy atmosphere. This was critical in an environment like this, and they pulled it off well! Varied, tactile puzzle design: The puzzles are multi-sensory, physical, and generally on-theme. You may not always WANT to have to engage all your senses…but they do a great job incorporating them. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK Narrative confusion: While we were invested in the premise, the story didn’t totally land with us in the end. Some character motivations and story beats didn’t fully line up, and the ending (while fun as a dramatic finale) didn’t really work for us from a narrative perspective. If this had one of those player decision options, we totally would have picked the alternate ending. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? This one isn’t for the faint of heart…you’ll definitely need to summon some courage for certain moments (and you’ll need to crawl). But if you’re up for that, "EXTERMINATED" is a fabulous time. It’s heart-pounding, hilarious, and wildly memorable, effectively blending tension and humor. With its totally original theme, immersive junkyard world, creative use of GM interactions, and tactile, multi-sensory puzzles, this game is perfect for players craving something different. Who knew pest control could be this thrilling… ℹ️ ADDITIONAL INFO The lobby has a small seating area and some small lockers. (You may need to ask them to hold onto items that won’t fit.) There is a bathroom available and free parking right outside. If you have the opportunity, the owners are fantastic to chat with, and their passion for the industry is clear (and also easily seen in their games). • Virtual Escaping - "Echoes of the Asylum"

Photo above is property of Virtual Escaping Company: Virtual Escaping Game: Echoes of the Asylum Country: Netherlands 🇳🇱 Language: English, Dutch Type of Game: Point-N-Click 🖱️ Genre: Horror Date Played: February 16, 2026 Difficulty (based on 3 players): 5/10 Size of Team: 1-6 ppl Time: 75 Mins. Price: $40.00 🆃🅷🅴 🆂🆃🅾🆁🆈 Drawn to the supernatural, you and your friends uncover a nurse’s diary from Willowbrook Hospital that ends with the cryptic message, “They are still here. Find the truth, set them free.” Stepping into the hospital, the gates slam shut behind you. The only way out is to explore the asylum, discover its secrets and put to rest the souls of the asylum. Video above is property of Virtual Escaping 🆃🅷🅴 🅶🅰🅼🅴 🅿🅻🅰🆈 After putting in our game code, we were given the option to skip the tutorial if we have played their games before. Since it has been a while for us, we decided to go through it, which gave us some helpful reminders on the navigation and options. One fun thing was that the game offered to set a 90 minute time limit for those with a competitive spirit or to have unlimited time. The game also included a built in video conferencing functionality. Unfortunately, we had some technical difficulties on our side so we ended up using a different program. Having used it in the past and for those of us who were able to connect, it is a great in-game feature to have. The gameplay was point and click, allowing us to explore the creepy asylum. Everyone could move through the areas independently and when someone solved a puzzle, it unlocked for all of us, sending a notification that something has been completed. Depending on your preferred style of play, this could be a positive or negative. Similar to a physical escape room, you may miss out on some puzzles while you are busy searching another area. Any items that were discovered were automatically added to everyone’s backpack for use and inspection. Navigation was straightforward with the directional arrows on the sides as well as the cursor changing when you hovered over interactive elements. The eerie graphics mixed with the creepy music and effects (Did you just hear a little girl laughing?) built an immersive atmosphere. Towards the end though, the music was getting quite intense that some of us had to turn it off as it was making it difficult to communicate over it. Photos above are property of Virtual Escaping 🆃🅷🅴 🅿🆄🆉🆉🅻🅴🆂 The puzzles ramped up nicely, starting with an easy introductory one that got things going. From there, the game had a solid variety of puzzles that kept things engaging. The hint system is structured with helpful tiering, which they explained during the tutorial. The first hint provided a gentle nudge. The second offered a more detailed explanation, and the third revealed the full solution. Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🅲🅻🅾🆂🅸🅽🅶 🆃🅷🅾🆄🅶🅷🆃🆂 "Echoes of the Asylum" was a solid experience with its intuitive navigation and creepy atmosphere that drew us in even more. The puzzles were well designed and the flow of the game worked well especially with our small team of three. This is a great choice for anyone looking for a fun, at home escape game or any horror fans. In a post pandemic world, where quality online games are less common, this is one I would definitely recommend. • PostCurious + TED-Ed - "Pandora's Legacy"

Photo above is property of TED-Ed Company: PostCurious + TED-Ed Game: Pandora's Legacy Country: USA 🇺🇸 Language: English Type of Game: Tabletop Games 📬 Genre: Greek Mythology Date Played: December 31, 2025 Difficulty (based on 2 players): 6.5/10 Size of Team: Unlimited (Recommend 2-4 ppl) Time: 12+hrs (~5+ hours of this is jigsaw puzzle assembly) Price: $79.00 NOTE: Other info: Also available as a bundle with two additional 1000-piece jigsaw puzzles. 🆃🅷🅴 🆂🆃🅾🆁🆈 You never meant to unleash all this chaos when you opened the box… but here we are. Now, as Pandora herself, you’re determined to set things right…if only you can persuade a few famously temperamental Greek gods to help you clean up the mess. 🆃🅷🅴 ❞🅻🅾🅾🅺🆂❞ The jigsaw puzzle is very visually dense, like an upscale, Greek mythology-themed Where’s Waldo. The artwork is beautifully illustrated, packed with intricate detail, and a joy to linger over. Which is good, because you’ll be staring at it a lot! The physical components are primarily made of thick cardboard and paper, with a few plastic pieces and a fun little “piece picker.” We do recommend using the tool; when I tried using my nails, I occasionally peeled up or roughed a corner of a piece. Most components held up well overall, though. The box itself is luxurious, with gorgeous artwork (as PostCurious tends to have) and gold embossing. It’s so inviting and tempting that we couldn’t wait to open it up, much like Pandora and her box. (Our cat, Pandora, was also a big fan and very curious about it...) Inside, you’ll find a trove of smaller boxes and envelopes, each labeled with a Greek letter, that you’ll be instructed to open at various stages along the journey. There’s also tracing paper included to help solve certain puzzles without damaging materials, plus reset instructions for future playthroughs. You’ll need a good size table. The jigsaw alone is 40" x 20", and you’ll also want room for the box, various other elements as you are using them, paper, and writing tools. Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🆃🅷🅴 🅶🅰🅼🅴 🅿🅻🅰🆈 Pandora’s Legacy blends traditional jigsaw puzzling with escape-room-style gameplay in a way that feels genuinely new. You’ll start with several hours of straight jigsaw puzzling. We forgot to time it, but we’d estimate we took around four to five hours. (However, even though you’re given a poster, we always jigsaw without referencing the image. Using that would likely speed things up considerably.) You’ll also need to create an account and use the TED Games digital platform (internet required). This interface guides you through the experience, validates answers, provides hints, and tracks and saves your progress. The latter will likely be essential, as this would be a mammoth game to attempt to do in one day! As you progress, you’ll be prompted to open new physical components and access new digital information, often weaving those elements together with the jigsaw itself in clever ways. As with other PostCurious titles, the game is fully resettable, which we deeply appreciate. This game is far too gorgeous and engaging to discard after a single-use. We had two main (and minor) critiques. First, the jigsaw pieces fell apart more easily than most puzzles we’ve done, which made moving assembled sections tricky. (Though this undoubtedly did make it easier to remove specific pieces we needed to investigate or use throughout the game.) Secondly, there was one specific constructed element where some parts were hard to assemble while others fell apart too easily. We spent a frustratingly long and unenjoyable time wrestling with it as a duo, only to solve the actual puzzle in under a minute. Thus, the payoff didn’t quite match the effort, even though the concept itself was excellent. Photos above are properties of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🆃🅷🅴 🅿🆄🆉🆉🅻🅴🆂 This is not a beginner game. Many of the puzzles are genuinely challenging, but deeply satisfying once solved. Observation plays a major role, but you’ll also encounter logic, spatial reasoning, and word puzzles throughout. Several puzzles require outside knowledge, but the game clearly signals when that’s the case, which we appreciated. Some of the most delightful moments came from the innovative and novel ways in which the jigsaw pieces themselves were used. These creative twists led to some truly lovely “a-ha” moments that undoubtedly would have pleased Athena herself. A fully tiered hint system is available if you need it. Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🅲🅻🅾🆂🅸🅽🅶 🆃🅷🅾🆄🅶🅷🆃🆂 We’ve played several games that combine jigsaws with escape-room mechanics (such as EXIT and Ravensburger), but Pandora’s Legacy elevates the concept to an entirely different level in terms of both depth and challenge. With 12+ hours of gameplay, it’s truly epic. Homer would approve. We loved the inventive use of the jigsaw, the seamless interweaving of digital and physical elements, the clever wordplay, and the surprisingly tender emotional note it ends on. Add in the stunning artwork we’ve come to expect from PostCurious, and this feels like a mythic undertaking in the best sense of the word. Deeply rewarding, occasionally humbling, and absolutely memorable…we’ll be first in line if the gods see fit to grant us a sequel! To solve the mystery, you must uncover the truth hidden within the hotel suite of the famous fortune teller, Madame LeClaire. Using your detective skills, can you reveal the secret behind the murder? Video above is property of Studio Escape 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE The story, puzzles, and the decor all worked well together seamlessly. As we solved the puzzles, the mystery unfolded little by little, gradually building a sense of fear toward the end and delivering a satisfying “wow” moment, even though we consciously or unconsciously knew what was coming. The difficulty of puzzles was just right, allowing us to fully focus on the immersive experience. The flow was perfect, and every puzzle was thoughtfully designed to support and enhance the story. The room decor was meticulous and perfectly matched the vibe of the narrative. I also enjoyed how certain items subtly hinted at connections to other Studio Escape stories. After the game, you can order an original cocktail inspired by the game and talk about the experience with your game master if you have time. Even the bar itself was impressive. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK We could only hear the audio clue once, and at some point, we lost track of part of the message. When playing this game, it is important to listen very carefully. There was only one puzzle where I felt that the method for deducing the answer was a bit ambiguous. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? “Madame LeClaire and the Seance of Death” was a deeply immersive mystery game. While puzzles themselves may not be mind-blowing, the room’s decoration and atmosphere, the strong connection between the story and the puzzles, and the way the mystery unfolded as a whole made the experience incredibly engaging. I felt like I was in a movie. If you have the chance to visit Osaka and are looking for a memorable game, I highly recommend stopping by Studio Escape and uncovering the secret behind this murder case. ℹ️   ADDITIONAL INFO Studio Escape is about a 10-minute walk from "Namba Station". • The Escape Ventures - "Nightfall: Creature at Camp Deadwood"

LOCATION: Port Charlotte, Florida, USA Photo above is property of The Escape Ventures Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 📝   ETR DECODER 🔑 GAME : Nightfall: Creature at Camp Deadwood 📅 DATE PLAYED : January 16, 2026 🎬 GENRE : Horror 🧠 DIFFICULTY (Based on 3 ppl) : 6/10 👥 TOTAL # OF PLAYERS : 2-6 ppl 🕒 LENGTH OF TIME : 60 Mins. 💰 PRICE : Starting at $42.99/ pp ☎️ BOOKING TYPE : Private 🔓 ESCAPED/ COMPLETED? : Yes 📖 THE STORY You’ve finally made it to your happy place: a peaceful camping trip in the woods. Fresh air, crackling campfire, stars overhead…what could go wrong? The local ranger greets you with a few unsettling stories about strange happenings in the area, but you chalk them up to classic campfire lore. After all, every national park has its legends, right? As night falls, though, this relaxing getaway turns into a race to understand what’s really lurking beyond the tree line and how to make it out before you become part of the legend yourselves. 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE Campy tone: A fun, slightly campy vibe throughout, with puzzles that feel right at home in a ranger station and deep-woods setting. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, despite the spooky atmosphere. There are a few well-timed jump scares, but nothing sustained or overwhelming. It would be enjoyable for many players who don’t usually gravitate toward horror. Set design: The Escape Ventures very thoughtfully used sound, lighting, scent to create and immersive environment that really made us feel like we were out at a national park. They made great use of space, drawing us into unique environments, and made it clear what’s actually in play versus what’s atmospheric set dressing. Clean, traditional entry mechanisms: This is a more classic, lock-forward room, but it was executed very cleanly. There was never confusion about which lock or mechanism went with which solve. Memorable puzzle: One puzzle particularly stood out, unlike anything we’ve seen before. It was simple, innovative, and very satisfying once it clicked. Unexpected beginning: A fun early-game twist (that may catch experienced players off guard) did a great job of flipping our initial expectations. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK There are no major misses, so we have to get nit-picky on this one… We wanted a longer hike: We loved our time in the woods and simply wished the trail was a bit longer. The ability to add in an extra puzzle or two for more experienced groups would have elevated the experience further. One unclear waypoint : One counting-related puzzle felt slightly disconnected from the story and could have been a bit clearer, though it wasn’t a major issue. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? "Nightfall: Creature at Camp Deadwood" is an easy recommendation for almost everyone, unless you really can’t tolerate spookiness or scares. It’s actually a great entry point for a spooky room. There’s no gore, the scares are brief and earned, and the atmosphere is more “creepy campfire story” than full-blown nightmare fuel. The puzzles are logical and satisfying, the flow is smooth, the interactions with the GM are entertaining, and the setting is thoughtfully layered with nice touches (including a subtle, on-theme scent that really grounds you in the woods). It’s a great fit for families with tweens or teens, friend groups, or coworkers looking for something fun with a little edge. It’s campy in the best sense of the word, and all in all, a rollicking good time! So pack your gear, lace up your boots, and get ready for a camping trip you won’t forget. ℹ️ ADDITIONAL INFO This location has free parking outside. You have use of lockers, bathroom, and a small seating area. Note: This game is not wheelchair accessible. (We love that this is clearly stated on their website. The wizard Merlin and his cohort used their powers to dispel this evil. Unfortunately, all good things come to an end, and the evil force has found a way back. As Merlin and his companions are no longer around in human form, they have left behind a series of trials that, should you prove yourself worthy, will show you the way to defeat this evil and banish it from the land once more. Video above is property of Trapped! Escape Room Upland 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE This is a room about magic, and you will be performing a wide range of magical stunts! Potion making, spell casting, conjuring, teleportation - so many key elements are represented; it is Dungeons & Dragons come to life! There are some very cool set pieces and surprising reveals, adding to the 'whoa!' factor. It featured adaptive difficulty in such a smooth way that we weren't even aware that it was being implemented, outside of a feeling of 'oh good we get to use that too!' (While we evidently did end up getting all the puzzles, we could imagine ways that they could implement removal of some of the puzzles without making people realize that they had missed out.) While there are many things to do, the room keeps the action moving forward at a good pace so you won't feel cramped for time or fear you're missing something. The GM has several fun 'roles' through which they can interact with you - not just for hints and nudges, either. This was a cute touch that made the game even more entertaining. Between the props (even some costumes), tangible objects to work with, and large set pieces, it is a very fun and whimsical room to play. For instance, the grimoires and tomes provided had an authentic feel, enriching the experience. The ending takes an unexpected turn, providing an excellent conclusion! 🧩 MISSED THE MARK There is one very cool segment that didn't last long enough for us to take in every aspect - it could've been stretched out to allow for more participation and appreciation. The game is quite linear, so larger groups will want to take turns with the various tasks. Too big of a group will have people standing around watching the fun. Tech wasn't always responsive in anticipated timeframes or manners, so we weren't always sure if we had done something right and needed to wait, or wrong and needed to rethink things. There were also a few situations where a bit more signposting would have been helpful. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? If you've ever dreamed of being a wizard, now's your chance! Lovers of fantasy and spell-casting will find this charming. The physically interactive nature of most of the puzzles makes it well suited for kids, parties, and groups who are new to escape rooms. Seasoned veterans who can let go of their need for brain-busting puzzles will be able to enjoy the fanciful fun of upskilling their wizard side. While it’s listed as a minimum of 3, it seems like you might be able to make 2 work (but check with Trapped and anticipate paying for 3). It is definitely a delightful, whimsical experience with a memorable conclusion! ℹ️ ADDITIONAL INFO Trapped is on the second floor of a complex and was a bit tricky to find. GPS got us to the parking lot, we just had to keep our eyes open from there to find it in building B. Plenty of parking all around, and there is a bathroom around the back (just grab the key from the lobby). The lobby is small (as were the lockers), with drinks and merch available for purchase and a couple simple puzzles for while you wait. They have two other locations (San Dimas, CA and Las Vegas, NV) with different experiences at each one, worth checking out if you travel out west. 🔎   HINT Keep things you've used in mind, as they may be relevant again later! We always appreciate the extra level of immersion brought in by these types of interactions. This was a delightful room! Whimsy factor ten. It is charming from the first glance, and only becomes more so as it unfolds. This is reflected not only in the gorgeous sets but also some of the props and interactions that you engage with. The puzzles are physically interactive in a variety of ways - and the only 'lock' that requires a key is anything but! Definitely not your run of the mill 'this code goes here' room. There are several memorably enchanting reveals along the way, keeping us captivated throughout the experience. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK There is a fairly extensive logic puzzle…while Krista loves logic puzzles and was happy to take it on, it may not be everyone's cup of tea. (Although, it wouldn't be too hard to brute force the answer, which may be a built-in workaround). We found the GM's character role to be charming and cute, but it was sometimes challenging to comprehend. We imagine that people who are hard of hearing or for whom English is a second language could find it frustrating (though it might be possible to remove the voice effect). This is an easier room, and we escaped well before the 60-minute mark. This was more of a bummer because we were having such a fabulous time in the game! Of course, this is not necessarily a bad thing for many groups, as it is a very approachable room. However, incorporation of some adaptive difficulty puzzles (as we saw in Trials of Merlin) would extend the gameplay for more experienced players. And we absolutely wanted to stay in the world they created! 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? The whole experience was adorable, so if that is your cup of tea, pull up a chair and join the party! It was definitely right up our alley, and we left with big smiles and full hearts. It may not be ideal for enthusiasts looking for a serious challenge. However, this is a great room for anyone who wants to revisit the wonder of being seven and play with a fanciful environment straight out of the stories from our childhoods. There are sweet surprises around every corner when you travel down the rabbit hole. Bring your kids, your grandparents, and anyone who is still a child at heart to this enchanting room! ℹ️ ADDITIONAL INFO Trapped is on the second floor of a complex and was a bit tricky to find. 🔎   HINT Check with the GM before getting too forceful, but there are two places where you may need to exert a bit more force than you might initially try.
