🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE
The room was well decorated, exuding a psychedelic vibe that perfectly matched the theme. Upon entering, you're immediately captivated by the vivid colors and nostalgic music playing in the background, enhancing an authentic hookah lounge vibe.
Observation and communication were the core elements emphasized by the puzzle designers in this room. Light indicators guided players on which puzzles to prioritize as they progressed through the game, which was crucial given the abundance of information and props available.
The bonus puzzle element was a fun addition to the game, allowing players who finished early to utilize their extra time engaging with this component.
🧩 MISSED THE MARK
A "hint" was provided to initiate the game, but it was placed on only one player's chair. It would be beneficial to distribute it to all players, as one individual might not understand it, while another might.
An initial clue was somewhat perplexing, as the pictures suggested multiple possible solutions, leading to confusion.
There was a physical puzzle that only one player could engage with at a time. Given the linear nature of the game, this occasionally resulted in other players experiencing boredom while waiting for the puzzle to be solved. This was a recurring issue throughout the game.
Occasionally, we overlooked changes in the room after completing a puzzle, as the light indicators were difficult to locate. Incorporating a sound element to guide players on where to focus next would be advantageous.
🏹 TAKE A SHOT?
This game would function more effectively with all four players present instead of just 2-3 people. There were several instances where we couldn't tell what was triggered after solving a puzzle because all the lights in the room were on, making it hard to notice changes if we weren't there at the right moment. Having more eyes would likely help capture more details. Additionally, the room could be designed in a more non-linear way so that every player has something to do, especially with more than two players. We noticed that the puzzles were solved rather quickly, leaving plenty of time remaining. The concept is very fun and unique, and we thoroughly enjoyed their "Chained" game which was fairly similar. We hope that with some adjustments, it can evolve into an upgraded version of the "Voodoo Lounge," as we've seen its potential so far!
