"The Curse of the Scarab" is a digital print-n-cut game that is played on a browser over several web pages. When you log in, there will be a puzzle on a web page, and after you key in the correct answer, you will be brought to the next web page. The game will continue in this manner. Apart from this, there will also be a PDF packet consisting of 7 pages which is recommended for you to print out. These represent pages of Christopher's journal which you will need to solve some puzzles that you encounter on the webpage.

There were a variety of puzzles involved, such as vocabulary, cutting, folding, audio, spot-the-difference, deciphering and logic puzzles. There really is a whole lot to satisfy everyone's taste. Some puzzles were straightforward, but some had multi-steps in order to solve it. Do note that some general knowledge is required or you can use outside resources such as Google in order to solve some puzzles.

I was pleasantly surprised by "The Curse of the Scarab". My initial feeling was that the puzzles might be too common or easy as there weren't many reviews to be found online. However, by the end of the session, I was glad I had a chance to play this game. The webpages were smooth, the graphics and audio were top notch, bringing me into the fantasy world of the mummies. I really felt like a tomb raider, as every puzzle was incorporated into the theme of the game. The difficulty of the puzzles was definitely satisfying, as I took about 70 mins (including cutting time) for the game. It was definitely a game worth looking into as it establishes itself as not just another print-n-cut game for kids or beginners.

Now I am looking forward to their second game release, "The Heist", and I will definitely jump on and play it when it is released :)
