📖 THE STORY

The date is April 9, 1940. The Germans are advancing into the Oslo Fjord with all lights extinguished. Positioned at the Oscarsborg fortress, you receive Colonel Eriksen's decisive order: Fire at the ship! The safety of Oslo and the king rests on your shoulders.

🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE

  • The props and items used genuinely feel like authentic wartime artifacts, transporting us convincingly back to 1940. One particular prop made us feel like soldiers transmitting secret messages.

  • We uncovered a brilliant secret reveal of a puzzle later in the game. It was an engaging tactile experience that demanded teamwork, and we thoroughly enjoyed collaborating on it.

  • Even though some elements of the game were in Norwegian, we had no difficulty playing it in English.

  • The finale featured an impressive set design that took us by surprise, creating the illusion of actual war participation. It would have been even more impressive if the prop could emulate sound and connect with the final strike.

🧩 MISSED THE MARK

  • The lighting should have been dimmer to create a more urgent "time is of the essence" atmosphere. Additionally, incorporating sound elements throughout the gameplay would have enhanced the urgency of the war theme.

  • Several prop items were reused for inputs and solutions. One particular item, which we assumed was no longer needed, was utilized again towards the game's end. It would be more effective if this could be transformed into a different type of discovery through another puzzle reveal.

  • Some answers were presented as information, causing confusion since we believed we needed to solve them using the props and clues provided. Receiving the answer through another method left us questioning the necessity of solving it initially.

  • The ending would be more impactful if our "input" elicited an immediate response rather than a delayed narration. It didn't convey a sense of game completion.

🏹 TAKE A SHOT?

We love playing local games that are unique to the region! This game not only provided us with loads of fun but also taught us history along the way. It was so engaging that it inspired me to watch a documentary about the war afterwards, helping me appreciate all the Easter Eggs and props included in the experience. If you want to relive April 9, 1940, this is your ultimate opportunity! Do you have what it takes to outsmart the Germans and become a war hero?

Quests always teach you to think quickly and look for clues, and I couldn't help but recall a similar problem I once encountered in my daily life. The TV went out at the most inopportune moment, and I was rushing between options, like in an escape room, where every second counts. Finding the best dish network phone number and reading other people's stories proved to be a lifesaver. This gave me a clearer understanding of what to do, and instead of panicking, I was able to focus on the solution and then enjoy the evening without unnecessary stress.
