The structure of this YouEscape changes a little bit in comparison to the previous games I have played. You start on a Zoom meeting with your GM where they will provide you with a google drive file and an introduction to the task. There is also a table fixed on the Zoom screen that contains locks and components you will need to open over the course of your journey. Your GM explains as you solve your puzzles that you will gain access to testimonies of potential suspects BUT you will only be able to view three of the four testimonies by the end of the game. Certain images in the google drive will also have an eye icon in the top corner indicating not only will it help solve the puzzle, but it will help you crack the case as well. Once you solve a puzzle, you will tell your guide whose testimony you would like to read before moving onto the second, third, and fourth folder. As you reach the end of your game, your choices will dictate if you get the good ending or bad ending.

As always, these games largely revolve around discussion amongst your members to solve things. The GM is there to maneuver items at your request or provide hints (up to three) when you ask.

The puzzle challenges has really ramped up in this game! Your tasks often require you to solve multi-level puzzles that provide you with pieces that will work into the next puzzle. Communication between your team is essential to talk out some of these problems. In addition, the puzzles require you to explore links that push you to Tetris, identify patterns, and decrypt hidden messages. We found it was best going in order in the google drive but members were able to divide and conquer before coming back together. I would say this game is definitely tailored to more experienced players, mainly because of the layering of materials. You may have solved a puzzle but you need to now solve another puzzle to figure out how that solution can be applied to the fixed image on the Zoom - take notes of the types of locks and clues to help guide yourself. This particular game also boasts a murder mystery style and I will say the final puzzle really hits the spot for those who enjoy deduction, while also rewarding you after gathering all the material. In the end, the game provided a good mix of challenging puzzles and a great deduction game at the end that I feel catered to a variety of puzzlers.

"#6: Murder Mystery" provided a nice change up from my other experiences with YouEscape games with its clue-gathering puzzles and satisfying finale. YouEscape really created complex, yet affordable puzzles that feed into puzzlers looking for a true challenge while also finding new ways to shake things up. If you are an experienced puzzler who enjoys murder mysteries, then this is an excellent game! I will note the more the merrier for playing as our group of four solved it with just over a minute left! Plan a night in, get yourself lots of snacks, and be ready to chat with friends to maximize the fun!
