The only information that you were able to gather before the message got cut off was that there's been a breach in the security system. With billions of dollars in experimental research at risk, you and your team are deployed via a chopper to the jungles of Tiki Island where the native Mohari tribe live. Your mission is to stealthily traverse though the jungle, locate the lab, recover the dinosaur DNA research and make it back to chopper undetected from the tribe. Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE When it comes to the design for a dinosaur island-themed escape room, I immediately think of "Jurassic Park". Between all the detail that's required for a jungle experience and a genetic lab testing facility, players going in with lots of expectations. Luckily, we never have to worry about that with Captured LV Escape Room. Having played all 4 of the escape room games at their Bethlehem location, we already knew they would deliver! I'm not going to spoil anything but WHAT AN ENTRANCE! We're utterly surprised as the creator didn't tell us about it and I'm glad she didn't. Once we got into the jungle, the fire torches, tribal symbols and props, animal sounds and lush greenery made us forgot we're in an escape room in PA. We have to commend the creators on their vision and imagination. As we unlocked the latter part of the game, more surprises kept "popping" out. The ambient atmosphere and build quality transported us directly onto a movie set as we felt we stepped foot into the village of the native Mahori tribe. Because this an action/ adventure themed escape game, the room gave us a good mixture of challenges, especially physical puzzles! All of the puzzles were cleverly constructed into the set design along with various special props. What you would expect to be a challenge in a jungle or infiltration was all implemented really well into the game. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK Once again, I don't have much to say about this section. This room is pretty solid as long as all the mechanics are in working order. One particular puzzle could be hard to interpret at first so don't be afraid to use a clue. Some items could be hidden really well so dedicate a good searcher. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? One thing that we can always count on from Captured LV Escape Room is the all around quality of their games. From the creative intro videos to the decorative entrances to the unique storyline to the set design to the entertaining puzzles bring together an unforgettable experience for us as players. The backstory for "The Island" is enough to peak anyone's interest especially if you're a fan of action & adventure themes. As you and your team are dispatched to Tiki Island with a list of objectives, you start to realize that the mission the lies ahead of you is no walk in the park. What intrigued us the most about the storyline is the unknown. Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE The room is set up with a variety of games typically found in a casino, and the majority of them are interactive rather than being merely decorative. At the beginning of the game, there was a moment that gave us a heist-like vibe. We appreciate a good obstacle. This game is ideal for groups who enjoy non-linear room styles. But there were also times, we, as a pair of players, needed to communicate to solve puzzles collaboratively. Instead of the typical game master style of providing clues, this game featured a suitable character who assisted in advancing the storyline and offering hints as necessary.. In the game, we had an enjoyable moment when we had to deactivate the security cameras. The game designer came up with a clever method for players to accomplish this task that was closely tied to the room's theme. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK One of the puzzles needed some relevancy to the prop used. The placement of a final "input" was confusing to a puzzle that was also in the same location. We would suggest a different location if possible. We might have missed some parts of the storyline when we were solving things in another room but we felt that there was a gap in the final mission we had to complete and the theme of the room. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? We love the idea of a heist in a casino because it combines the thrill of high-stakes games with the excitement of a daring robbery. The setting of a casino provides the perfect backdrop for such a scenario, with its luxurious decor and tight security measures. Imagining a heist taking place in a casino conjures up images of elaborate plans, quick thinking, and unexpected twists and turns. Furthermore, Captured LV's incorporation of themes that are unique to their local affairs adds an extra layer of intrigue to the heist concept. Windcreek Casino being in close proximity only enhances the realism and excitement of the scenario, as players can easily visualize the setting and immerse themselves in the action. They strongly urge you to let them handle it, but you've been hearing rumors from the locals talk about this antique shop with a peculiar owner. Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE Having the storyline set in New Orleans is the perfect location for "The Soul Collector" given all the history of Voodoo and Witch Doctors. The backstory of searching for your missing friend inevitably leading up to entering inside of a local eccentric antique shop is pure genius! We always love the reasoning behind why we're going inside a certain escape room and the creators were spot on with the decor and storyline. The set design starts outside the room w/ a peculiar store disguised as an antique shop. When you take that very first step inside, the first thing you'll notice is the dimly lit room w/ green & red lighting packed with collectibles. Normally we would be worried that there's too much decor that could potentially become red herrings but this room made sure that we're aware which props were just for decoration and which ones were clues. We loved how the creators were able to find that perfect balance to bring out the immersion. Much like all the other rooms at Captured LV, the puzzles all correlated with the storyline and made sense. This room was quite challenging for two people as there's a lot to be done. We love how there was some mixture of physical puzzles as well. The tech, light and sound effects were used at the perfect moments (definitely got me a few times on minor jump scares) to enhance the Voodoo vibe. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK We really enjoyed this room and can't really think of any shortcomings. If you have issues seeing in dim lighting, make sure to bring helpers! 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? Yes! Yes! and Yes! If you're looking for a unique storyline and to be transported to a mysterious antique shop in New Orleans, then you've found your wish! The size of this room is great for large groups that would want to split up and search around! If you're a scaredy-cat like Cici, don't worry, there's no live actors. Or will the past trap you forever beneath the city? 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE Choosing this old building’s deep, dark, and surprisingly expansive basement as the setting was a smart move — especially when paired with a real slice of local history. We were intrigued to learn that during the war, basements like this were used to hide valuables, including jewelry from nearby shops. It’s not hard to imagine that somewhere beneath Pforzheim’s streets, a forgotten stash might still be waiting to be found. Down in the basement, several blockages must be overcome before gaining access to what appears to be a German wartime bunker. Thick concrete walls and a formidable vault door add weight to the journey. Inside, we encountered numerous military artifacts — helmets, uniforms, period furniture — all helping to establish the setting. While a few modern items were mixed in, they didn’t detract too much from the overall experience. The story contains a couple of well-executed twists, which we won’t spoil here, but they definitely added extra excitement. Puzzles are played in a linear fashion, offering a solid mix of logic, physical interaction, and hands-on teamwork. Most fit the theme and time period well. We appreciated that several challenges required the participation of more than one player — fostering communication and true collaboration throughout. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK While the room is solid overall, and there’s little to complain about, a few small tweaks could elevate it even more. Reducing the use of modern or inauthentic props would help maintain immersion, and some more story-integrated puzzles could bring the narrative to life in a deeper way. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? This was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, with some memorable puzzles and immersive moments. If you're drawn to historically themed escape rooms, this one is definitely worth checking out. Her performance was both convincing and immersive, as she recounted the rumors surrounding the house and the mysterious disappearance of our friend. The cabin itself is impressively built — a two-story structure filled with a modest amount of furniture and authentic props that enhance the rustic, backwoods atmosphere. A small outdoor garden area adds a nice touch, complete with decorative elements like a weathered outhouse that contributes to the setting. The puzzles offer a wide variety of tasks and require players to explore the entire space. The emphasis on searching and physical movement kept everyone engaged from start to finish. We especially appreciated the creative use of the outhouse, which added a bit of novelty to the experience. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK While the story began with strong momentum, it unfortunately fizzled out toward the end. We exited the room without discovering the fate of our friend or fully resolving the central mystery, leaving the narrative feeling unfinished. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? Strong set design and a diverse range of puzzles make this game a worthwhile experience for teams of all skill levels. Despite being just two players and needing to "divide and conquer" for much of the game, we seamlessly reunited to solve the puzzles and achieve our ultimate escape. The set design seamlessly embodied an "underwater" ambiance as we navigated the engine room, with the large lookout hole featuring various sea creatures that truly immersed us in the experience. The game design adeptly separates areas to "encourage" player collaboration, with one side dedicated to "solving" and the other to "inputting" information. The storyline concluded clearly, leading the game to a "victorious" end. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK Given the theme of a submarine under attack by a giant octopus, we were hoping for more moments of heightened sense of "danger" or "urgency" conveyed through sound or lighting effects. The sequence required for one of the puzzles is open to multiple interpretations. It would be advisable to redesign it to provide a clear and definitive solution. One of the control panels is crafted to resemble other puzzles but is purely ornamental, with fixed switches. The gamemaster had to inform us that it was preset and not an actual puzzle, which somewhat disrupts the immersive experience. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? The game's puzzle design focuses on clear instructions that guide players through tasks necessary for progression, emphasizing task completion over complex logic puzzles. This traditional design philosophy aligns with genre conventions, offering an accessible experience for beginners interested in non-linear gameplay with a linear thought process. Players embark on an adventurous journey, facing challenges to escape the kraken and rescuing the Nautilus. The game combines clear guidance with strategic thinking, appealing to players of all skill levels. Moreover, rumors are doing the rounds that he only owes his famous genius to a mysterious substance. The Inquisition has also gotten wind of this and is already on its way to seize the powerful substance. You can't let that happen under any circumstances! So come on, can you find the substance and get it to safety before they get here? 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE Exodus has crafted a truly immersive environment, starting with the introduction delivered not only by our in-character gamemaster, but also with subtle atmospheric tweaks in the waiting room that set the tone for our adventure. Thematic music and dimmed lighting enhanced the anticipation, making the briefing far more engaging than simply listening to someone reel off a flat monologue. Inside, we found a rustic space representing the living quarters of Da Vinci. True to the time period, we encountered wooden floors, panelled walls, homely furniture, and a work desk adorned with scrolls, sketches, and paintings. The walls were filled with decorative pieces—some of which may or may not contain useful in-game information 😉. For some reason, the floorboards really stood out to us. We appreciated the gamemaster’s early warning that nothing was hidden beneath them, as we were constantly fighting the urge to pry them up! The ending provided a satisfying conclusion. A small, but charming special effect gave the impression that we had cast a spell to uncover where Da Vinci had hidden his powerful substance—which turned out to be something quite “sweet” 😉. The room offers a broad range of tasks, and we appreciated the effort to tie them to both the theme and the historical time period. This boosted immersion, prevented repetition, and ensured everyone stayed active throughout. While there’s only one task that requires strict cooperation, the rest promote natural collaboration and team engagement. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK It was great to see effort placed on crafting a more conclusive finale—something that many escape rooms neglect. However, in the heat and rush of the game, a couple of narrative points weren’t entirely clear. I needed to clarify them with the gamemaster afterwards. That said, the experience still delivers a solid, satisfying adventure. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? I wholeheartedly recommend this room for teams with no to low-level escape room experience. The story is neat, and the tasks are inclusive and interesting. More experienced teams may still find moments of mental challenge, but could feel slightly underwhelmed by the lack of wow moments or standout mechanics ℹ️ ADDITIONAL INFO Exodus is a centrally located location within walking distance from the train station. Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE The set design (made in-house) was done really well and transported us into a magical world right from the start. It felt like we've entered a wizard's "man cave". There were all different kinds of potions, colorful ingredients, spell books, wands etc... All of the items and props were really authentic. The storyline was unique as it was told from the perspective of another wizard character. We all know the story and the adventures that Harry embarked on, but it was quite interesting to witness "The Boy Who Lived" through another character's eyes. The objective was pretty straight forward and the puzzles were a lot of fun to solve. Some of the challenges were cleverly implemented in a unique way forcing us to think differently about our approach. Magic was felt everywhere throughout the room. The lighting really set the tone and if you pay attention, you'll actually notice that the room gets slightly brighter as time passes on. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK If we really had to nitpick on something it would be a tactile that was modified to make it easier for players. We love games that challenge us to find our way back to our own world! The puzzles were pretty straight forward and made sense throughout the game. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK Although everything inside of the room worked, there was a bit of a delay with some of the tech puzzles which made us question if we were on the right track of not. It would've been great to have a more cinematic ending or confirmation that we made it back to our own world! We didn't feel like we were transported back after completing the final puzzle The set design had more of a museum feel rather than a real jungle. In the later part of the game, one prop doesn't seem it belonged in the game. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? This was the first time that I was able to get most of my family to go play an escape room together. For a lot of them, this was their first time but they did an amazing job with just a little help from us here and there. This is a great room for a large room since it's quite spacious and you can easily split up and work on different puzzles. If you love board games and cute stuffed animals, you might want to check this room out. An fun prop is used later in the game as an "input," a rare feature in escape rooms that adds a special touch. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK Providing an intro inside the room would be beneficial in case the GM forgets to introduce the storyline. We noticed some clues and items were discovered too early and couldn't be used until way later. We encountered confusion with the order of input for a few puzzles. At times, it felt like we were relying on trial and error, and ultimately we had to ask for a hint. Some props or clues in the room didn't align with the theme, disrupting our immersion. We identified a few unintentional red herrings that definitely caused confusion for our team. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? The puzzle flow in this game wasn't as smooth as the other games at Fairfield. The experience felt disjointed, indicating the developers might still be fine-tuning gameplay mechanics and design, as this is a newly launched game. Despite these issues, we were intrigued by the innovative puzzle ideas (especially some of the input devices), differing from traditional pirate-themed rooms. Following the incident of what happened to Frederic's daughter Abigail, you and your team of investigators have been assigned to dig further into the Pierson's mansion to see what other secrets are being held behind closed doors. There's a lot of areas to explore with more and more reveals towards the end of the story. The storyline gave a surprising conclusion to the prequal " Abigail's Playroom " (definitely reminded us of a few escape movies that we've seen before) Some puzzles felt like you're playing "hide and seek" with whoever trapped you to this room as there's a good amount of searching and observation needed in this game 🧩 MISSED THE MARK One of the puzzles took only some elements to create the entire puzzle which seemed unfinished to us. One of the puzzles required some height and Cici (5ft) wasn't able to reach the top to complete the puzzle. If a tool can be provided for shorter players this would be helpful. Towards the end of the game, there was a prop that was really difficult to utilize to read a final clue. This could be a hinder point on winning or losing the game. We advised getting this prop replaced. The clue givers in this game needs to really pay attention to the players as there's a lot of search and find happening so if they didn't see that the player has already spotted that certain clue then the GM may be giving the same clue to the player again which can cause frustration. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? We thought this game was the hardest one out of the 5 at this location. The puzzle flow is not as logical as the rest. We had to use deduction to get to the answers for some of the puzzles. There are a lot more red herrings in this room that got us confused throughout. I would advise to try everything you can think of and definitely go for a hint if needed as you'll need to leave plenty of time for the final puzzle. This room look too normal as a playroom so something else must be going on... There's a few puzzles that utilized the props in an interesting way. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK Whenever the set design requires the use of a lot of colors due to the theming of the game, it's always best to keep in mind of what can be seen as a red herring. There were a few puzzles in "Abigail's Playroom" that immediately created confusion based on the unintentional usage of color arrangements which could also be associated with other puzzles. We spoke w/ the owner and provided feedback on how this could interrupt the game flow. While playing the game, we noticed that one of the puzzles was encoded incorrectly. We brought it to the owner's attention and it was immediately fixed. When we played the game, some parts were movable that wasn't supposed to be moved. This was also corrected after we informed about the situation. One of the counting puzzles caused some confusing for us as it's difficult to see from people with different heights. Some props need to be changed out due to the worn out status. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? "Abigail's Playroom" is an old room that was kept from the previous company. At this point it really feels like it needs an uplift to match up with all the other new rooms at this location. You're acting as a detective trying to find out where Abigail is from the clues she has left for you. If you've never played an escape room for you, this could be a good starter room for you as it's a gen-1 room with not much tech involved. Your team of nuclear physicists and engineers have been requested to visit the cabin and discover the source and shut it down! Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE This room is newly built so when we enter "The Cabin", it still had that fresh wood smell which was a natural immersion that took us right into the story. The transition of the cabin into something else that we didn't anticipate towards the end of the game was a pleasant surprise in terms of set design (although on the day when we played this game, the prop was malfunctioned so we can't fully comment on this part of the game) The mechanism looked really cool and if it had worked (the GM explained to us how it would have worked) would be a great ending 🧩 MISSED THE MARK There was a counting puzzle where the wording for the items were debatable. Counting puzzles are already usually quite difficult as we need to find the "hidden" items at times so it's essential that the items need to be specific and not questionable. The replacement puzzles didn't seem to fit in with the theme of the cabin so once the actual game fully functional we hope these components will be removed. There was a cool prop that also didn't work that was in the room, the clue paper was confusing as we still had to do it in order to get the solution but there was no way we could have solved it since it was broken. It was be great to at least give us a heads up prior to game play so we know to anticipate this and the GM can help us get through this part versus us having to wait around. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? "The Cabin" definitely has potential to become a player's favorite at this location due to the twist in the storyline and the mechanics (if they all worked). We understand that sometimes there's mechanic issues and they can not be repaired on the spot. It would be better that the players are informed ahead of time rather than receiving it as a surprise in the middle of the game. Last time we checked with the location they had said that everything is all in working condition so let us know how your experience is in the cabin! From the incredible array of candy displays to the colorful props, this game definitely brought out the sweet-tooth in us! There was a bunch of puzzles to solve throughout the game that involved physical challenges that was a lot of fun. The cooperative element makes this game a great choice for team players. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK This room is quite heavy on color in terms of the decor so when there's a color puzzle involved it can be seen as red herring and confusing to the players. We gave some suggestions to the creator so hopefully it'll be implemented in the future. One puzzle had an annoying feature where once triggered it can not be stopped and the sound will repeat itself throughout the game over the loud speaker. This also confused as we didn't know which puzzle the announcement was referring to. Some of the decor needed some maintenance as I'm sure the temptation for players to actually get that candy had made some areas that wasn't intended to be accessed become accessible. Update: We did go back and revisited a couple of weeks later and these items have been corrected. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? "Candy World" is like being stuck inside of "Dylan's Candy Bar" or "Sugar Factory" with a ton of arcade games! Because there are a couple of puzzles that require observation and collaboration, we recommend having 3-5 players. You might need your calculator at one point if you're not good with mental Math. Just note that you are allowed to use your phone since a calculator wasn't provided. This game is perfect for friends and family of all ages especially for kids. Traveling out towards the roughest part of the sea (literally) is the highlight of this game. When we first enter the room, we were inside a tiki hut. The lighting, drinks, surf boards, and music really brought out the island vibe. Some of the puzzles were really creative. One that we particularly liked was a simple prop that you would see on a boat but through creative instructions we were able to solve for a solution. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK One or two puzzles in the room felt like the players needed a bit more instruction. We wouldn't have connected the two together or search for hidden items just based on seeing the clues given. If the storyline could be implemented in a video format rather than GM giving it at the beginning, it'll make the mission more clear as we didn't actually know what we had to do to complete this room and felt that some parts were manually triggered but we didn't actually do it correctly. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? This has to be one of our favorite set designs and game from Amazing Escape Room (followed by " Top Secret Mission " at their Cherry Hill location). It's a really fun game with not so difficult puzzles that we really encourage beginners to play because you'll definitely want to try another escape room after this.
