Nick Battell

Nick was introduced to escape rooms through a friend wanting to try something a little different back pre-covid times! Since then he has been hooked; and given the volume played, started to write reviews and create games – creating a handful of online and print at home games both independently and for other businesses. As well as the escape room obsession, Nick is also a big pro wrestling fan - Yep, I know its “fake”, plays piano and sings (check out my tik tok �� ). Having a 15 year old teenager – who is usually my escape room team mate, as well as a beautiful fiancé and 2 energetic step children, certainly makes for a busy Nick!

• 🪣 ON THE BUCKET LIST: Escape rooms in Japan and in the US. It is interesting to compare games with that in eastern Europe.

🙌 FAVORITE ESCAPE ROOM(s):

• This is a tricky one, but 2 likely stick in my head more than others – "Dino Land" (sadly now closed) at The Panic Room, Gravesend, England. A great location, a great team – the venue itself is still going strong and offers some amazing experiences, however for me Dino Land due to its sheer scale (the square footage of this game was unreal) , actor interaction, use of numerous different animatronics and the effort the designers went to, to make the game as immersive as possible, made this game unmissable. The other is likely "Temple Quest" at Clue Cracker, Tunbridge Wells, England. Whilst certainly not the scale of Dino Land, Temple Quest stands head and shoulders above all others in my opinion for the fun factor. Great use of space, brilliant interaction with the games master, and some real clever game play – it’s the only physical room I’ve played twice – that says a lot!
