After purchasing the game, you and your team will be given an intro video which will explain the rules and scenarios that you'll encounter during the game play. Since this game has a lot of video components, we strongly suggest all the players to wear headphones. You'll be acting as Fleck, a newcomer to the village. Your mission is to determine who's the real werewolf in this village and who are remaining humans. At the start of each day, you'll be given a prerecorded video to watch together as a team. In the video, you'll have to listen and watch closely to determine which actors (mayor, sister, dancer, shepherd, etc...) are telling the truth and which ones are lying based on the information that was given.

You can take notes but a summary will also be provided incase you've missed something during the video. The videos are spoken in Japanese with English subtitles. We were really impressed by actors as they were all really in character. One actor in particular (you'll know who we're talking about if you've played the game) really stood out in terms of his acting skills. We didn't even notice anything until the very end. There were many twists and turns with the plot and I just kept remembering saying: "wait a minute, didn't he....?" or "Omg, I told you so!" to each other. In order to pass on to the next day, we had to solve 3 mini puzzles each time. The final step of the game was to correctly identify the werewolf and come up with a plan to save the village. It was like watching soap opera, we couldn't wait to see what will happen the next day.

The mini puzzles were quite easy. The focus of this game was not really around the puzzles. It felt like an immersive theater experience mixed in with a traditional mafia game. Majority of the time you'll be using social deduction. The interface of the game was synced so that when one person solves a puzzle, it'll automatically update for the other players. Be sure to communicate what you have solved with the other players so they don't miss out on the actions.

This was definitely a very unique form of digital escape game we haven't experienced before. Initially, we thought perhaps we might be bored since most of the game was spend on watching prerecorded videos but the storyline really captivated us and we couldn't take our eyes off of the actors. If you looking for a game that focuses more on puzzles, this might not be the right game for you. But if you are looking for a murder mystery vibe spiced up with some comedy then you've found your perfect match. We love to hear what you thought about the ending if you do decide to play this game. We thought it was quite mind-blowing!
