🎭 THE EXPERIENCE

Oasis Island of Terror is a seasonal outdoor haunted attraction at Oasis Family Farm in Robbinsville, New Jersey, known for its immersive trails and chilling encounters. Billed as "The Destination to Fear", it delivers an unsettling journey into darkness, where every turn promises another encounter with terror.

Designed for thrill-seekers who prefer an immersive outdoor terror experience over a traditional indoor haunted house, Oasis Island of Terror delivers an intense journey through the darkness. Its signature attraction, *The Woods Have Eyes*, stands out for its extensive trail and remarkably realistic wooded setting. Customers have recognized it as one of New Jersey’s longest and most realistic walk-through haunted experiences.

The attraction follows a "strict no-touch policy": actors do not touch guests, and visitors are prohibited from touching actors or props, ensuring a frightening yet boundary-respecting experience.

For the 2026 season, Oasis Island of Terror features (3) distinct haunted attractions:

  1. The Woods Have Eyes — A terrifying, more-than-one-mile trail winding through dense, wooded terrain. The experience typically takes around **30 minutes** to complete, depending on your pace and how quickly you navigate the darkness.

  2. Stalkers — One of the attraction’s newer additions, offering another dose of outdoor horror.

  3. the park that waits — Another recent addition, expanding the farm’s lineup of chilling experiences.

NOTE: Sadly, time wasn't on our side, and we had to skip "the park that waits". It's an attraction we've heard nothing but great things about, and it's definitely at the top of our list for a future visit.

📖 THE STORY

Deep within the darkness of Oasis Island of Terror, something sinister stirs among the trees. The *Woods Have Eyes* plunges you into a mile-long journey through haunting woodland, where winding trails, eerie surroundings, and unseen terrors lurk in the shadows. Every step forward draws you deeper into a nightmare where fear takes hold and the unknown waits just beyond your sight.

A distant rustle. A fleeting shadow. Something watching from the trees. As the forest closes in around you, paranoia takes over, and the darkness begins to feel terrifyingly alive.

The woods are watching. Something is waiting. Will you make it out?

📖 THE STORY

You sense their presence before you ever see them. Footsteps echo nearby, shadows shift in the darkness, and something seems to be following your every move. *Stalkers* plunges you into a chilling world of suspense, where danger lurks just beyond sight and every sound could signal that you're no longer alone.

As you descend deeper into the unknown, paranoia takes hold and the line between hunter and hunted begins to blur. Stay alert, watch the shadows, and trust nothing around you. Whatever is out there may be closer than you think.

They know you're here. They won't let you leave unnoticed!

📖 THE STORY

Step into a place where childhood memories twist into something far more sinister. "the park that waits" at Oasis Island of Terror transforms an ordinary playground into a nightmare draped in darkness, where every swing creaks with menace and every shadow seems to be watching.

As you navigate this eerie outdoor attraction, unsettling scenes unfold around you while sinister figures and live actors emerge from the darkness without warning. What should be a place of laughter and innocence becomes a terrifying landscape of suspense, leaving you constantly questioning what lurks just beyond the next corner.

With each step, the feeling of safety fades. The darkness grows deeper. The tension becomes unbearable. The park is waiting patiently for its next visitors. The only question is whether you're ready for what awaits inside...

🎯  HIT THE BULLSEYE

  • Atmosphere: Unlike indoor haunts limited by walls and confined spaces, Oasis Island of Terror's outdoor experiences take full advantage of its sprawling woodland settings. The vast darkness, dense tree lines, and countless hiding spots create a constant sense of vulnerability, and Oasis capitalizes on every inch of it. Scares can emerge from virtually anywhere, making the journey through the woods as unpredictable as it is terrifying.

  • Psychological elements: As a city person suddenly dropped into the middle of a horror-filled farm, the psychological unease set in almost immediately. The isolation, the darkness, and the unfamiliar surroundings created a constant sense of vulnerability. One of the most effective scares was also one of the simplest: a lone figure standing motionless in the middle of the path ahead, silently staring as you approached. There was no sudden movement, no loud noise, just the unsettling question of whether to stop, turn back, or continue forward. That moment of uncertainty was incredibly nerve-racking, proving that sometimes the most terrifying scares are the ones that make you fear what might happen next.

  • Set design: My favorite set pieces were the decaying farm cabins scattered throughout the woods. Half-swallowed by darkness, they felt less like abandoned buildings and more like places hiding terrible secrets. Their looming silhouettes and empty black windows added a chilling atmosphere that lingered long after you passed them.

  • Actors: The actors were outstanding, with the experience and confidence to make every scare count. Through perfectly timed jump scares, clever misdirection, and constant distractions, they kept us off balance and created the unnerving feeling that we were being hunted rather than simply walking through a haunt.

  • Varying intensity: Many haunted attractions become repetitive after a while, causing the scares to lose their impact as guests grow accustomed to the same tricks. Oasis Island of Terror never allowed that to happen. Just when we thought we had figured out its rhythm, the attraction shifted tactics, introducing new surprises, clever misdirection, and unexpected scares that kept us guessing. The constant variety prevented us from becoming desensitized, maintaining a sense of tension and unpredictability from the first scream to the last.

🧩 MISSED THE MARK

  • Storyline: If there's one area where Oasis Island of Terror could be improved, it's in establishing a stronger storyline and introduction. While the scares and atmosphere are highly effective, a more developed narrative framework would help build anticipation and create a deeper sense of immersion before guests step into the darkness.

🏹 TAKE A SHOT?

At Oasis Island of Terror, we didn't feel like guests walking through a haunted attraction, we felt like victims trapped inside a real-life horror film. As city dwellers navigating a horror farm, the atmosphere alone was enough to put us on edge. Surrounded by darkness and endless open space, there was a constant feeling of exposure. Between the immersive atmosphere, sprawling trails, and expertly executed scares, it's easily one of the best haunted attractions in New Jersey. Experience all three trails if you can, and bring your nerves of steel. You'll need every last one of them.
