- REMOTE: Mysterious Room - "Who is Max Winckler?"
Photo above is property of Mysterious Room Company: Mysterious Room Game: Who is Max Winckler? Country: Poland ๐ต๐ฑ Language: English, Polish Type of Game: Remote Escape Room ๐ฃ Genre: Mystery Date Played: January 15, 2022 Difficulty (based on 6 players): 6/10 Size of Team: 2-5 Players Time: 60 Minutes Price: 170-200 PLN ๐๐ ท๐ ด ๐๐๐ พ๐๐ Inspired by the radio play โWho is Max Winckler?โ, you are plunged into one of his nightmares, set in 19th century ลรณdลบ. You begin finding symbols as you explore the streets. Where are they pointing you and will they be your ticket out of this terrifying dream? ๐๐ ท๐ ด โ๐ ป๐ พ๐ พ๐ บ๐โ The first thing we noticed when we signed in was the interface. Designed by Let Me Out in Poland, the interface allowed the GM to live stream the room, gave us a 360 view of the room, take notes, see our inventory, the ability to text chat and have all our zoom videos be shown at the bottom, all at the same time. At anytime, we could expand and full screen the live stream, the 360 view or our inventory to take a closer look at anything. The inventory included high resolution photos that allowed us to zoom in closer to inspect the items. The quality of this room was also top notch. As we progressed through the game, we could see the quality and care that was put into this room, from the look of the street buildings and props. This is one room that made us wish we were there. Photos above are property of Mysterious Room ๐๐ ท๐ ด ๐ ถ๐ ฐ๐ ผ๐ ด ๐ ฟ๐ ป๐ ฐ๐ As the game started, we were played a high production quality video that gave us a nice creepy but not scary introduction to the game. One thing we noticed here was that the interface automatically muted all the participants when the video was playing. There were a few other videos that were played for us during the game that also mimicked this. As we played the game, there were 2 people in the room guiding us through the game. One was the camera person and the other was the GM who was playing the game with us and performing our actions. Both did a marvelous job of letting us play the game on our own and guiding us at times when we were stuck. Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers ๐๐ ท๐ ด ๐ ฟ๐๐๐๐ ป๐ ด๐ There was a solid stream of puzzles throughout the game which included matching items and deciphering cryptic messages. This game can be played in person and digitally. One thing that stood out was that the puzzles were all fit to be played online as opposed to having us wait for an extended period of time as the GM completed them. Some of the puzzle solutions that were given were a Polish word but the GM easily was able to translate those for us. On the flip side though, any instructions or text required for the puzzle was given in both English and Polish which was nice. ๐ ฒ๐ ป๐ พ๐๐ ธ๐ ฝ๐ ถ ๐๐ ท๐ พ๐๐ ถ๐ ท๐๐ With a different interface that allowed for ease of play to the great GMs leading us and to the great puzzles, this game was a pleasure to take part in. There were 6 of us for this game which allowed for a nice casual play but could easily be completed with less. This game had a nice creep factor to it but was never scary. If you are familiar with the radio play โWho is Max Winckler?โ, you might find a few more easter eggs in the game, but unfortunately, we were unable to find a copy in English. If you ever get the chance to play this game in person, you should do that. Otherwise, if you never make it to Poland, the online version makes for a great experience as well. *** This game can no longer be booked as a remote game but can still be booked as an in-person experience *** (If you do decide to try this experience, give us a shoutout or tag us on social media so we know you heard it from "ESCAPETHEROOMers"!) - REMOTE: BREAK the BRAIN - "Freakshow"
Photos provided by BREAK the BRAIN Company: BREAK the BRAIN Game: Freakshow Country: Poland ๐ต๐ฑ Language: English, Polish Type of Game: Remote Escape Room ๐ฃ Genre: Horror Date Played: 1/14/2021 Difficulty (based on 4 players): 6/10 Size of Team: 2-5 Players Time: 60 Minutes Price: โฌ50.00 (2ppl) - โฌ70.00 (3-5pp) ๐๐ ท๐ ด ๐๐๐ พ๐๐ We received a mysterious letter with tickets inviting us to attend a spectacular "Freakshow". When we arrived, the place looks abandoned and no one was there to greet us. Shall we still check it out? ๐๐ ท๐ ด ๐ ถ๐ ฐ๐ ผ๐ ด ๐ ฟ๐ ป๐ ฐ๐ The game was operated by a live avatar and a separate camera person. There was no inventory system but we didn't feel like it was really necessary. There were a few points where we took photos and made the game play a bit smoother so if the company wanted to implement a few still shots that would improve the flow of the game. At the beginning, we're first introduced to what looked like an entrance to a show. It didn't look like much but as the game proceeded, we were presented with surprise after surprise. The set design was amazing. There were so many hidden compartments and areas, you won't know what you'll see next. The entire game screams FUN with maybe a little bit of creepiness ( I did let out a few screams but you should all know I'm a scaredy cat by now). The camera person did a great job at controlling the player's field of vision and the avatar was also quite intuitive at what she needed to do instead of us having to tell her every single command. ๐๐ ท๐ ด ๐ ฟ๐๐๐๐ ป๐ ด๐ The puzzles were designed around the story of an abandoned circus. You're able to search items that all seemed to have a story to tell. There were old photographs, show times, creepy dolls, etc...There were also a few physical puzzles that was related to a circus vibe but the avatar did a great job completing it so quickly that it was enjoyable to watch (although secretly we're very jealous of her and wanted to be there in person). The puzzles were not too difficult especially for enthusiasts. They all translated quite well to the online version. Like I said earlier, there were some items that required a closer look. If those could be presented to us on an inventory portal, it would make it even more enjoyable (they're currently working on an APP that will implement this change). Ultimately, we were able to solve the puzzles with no issues. ๐ ฒ๐ ป๐ พ๐๐ ธ๐ ฝ๐ ถ ๐๐ ท๐ พ๐๐ ถ๐ ท๐๐ "BREAK the BRAIN" did a great job with this room. From set design to story line to puzzles to character play, we enjoyed everything. And if that's not enough to convince you to book this game, wait till you see the ending. After the game, we discussed amongst ourselves on what happened and till this day, we still can't come up with an agreeable solution. Maybe you can figure it out? ๐ผ๐โ๐ธโ๐ผ๐โ๐ผโ๐๐๐๐๐ฃ๐คโ โ.๐.๐คโ ๐๐๐ ๐ฆ๐๐๐ฅ๐ค Paolo F. I've been wanting to play a freakshow themed room for a while and finally got the chance thanks to ESCAPETHEROOMers. The game starts in a fairly small and bare environment and the first puzzle is pretty simple but as soon as you move into the second environment the music changes. The setting is now very beautiful and the puzzles become nicer and more challenging (but never difficult). The pace is almost always high and it never stops. I appreciated that, rather than trying to scare, which in a remote game is very difficult, The game had a playful and fun tone. I also appreciated that there was no inventory. Instead static images are used even if they have created to me more difficulties than benefits. I think they could easily do without them but they told us after the game that they are already working on an application that will incorporate both the video and the static images so the game experience will probably further improve. Overall a nice game with a curious and unexpected ending. ________________________________________________________________ Hanna N. Pros/Cons: + Friendly and very accommodating avatar + A lot of interesting things to look at, but not enough to make you feel overwhelmed + Plenty of surprises, I even screamed out loud at one point + Good use of different medias inside the room + Nice camerawork that helped us focus on the important parts without giving too much away +/- Mostly mechanical puzzles, which is great in an in-person escape room but in a virtual one it can feel like youโre watching the avatar more than you're solving puzzles - One task didnโt translate as well into virtual game play and the avatar had to solve it without many instructions from us - More could be done regarding inventory and receiving screenshots of important texts *** This game can no longer be booked as a remote game but can still be booked as an in-person experience *** (If you do decide to try this experience, give us a shoutout or tag us on social media so we know you heard it from "ESCAPETHEROOMers"!) - Escape Bryggen - "Hanseaticus"
LOCATION: Bergen, Norway Videos/ Photos are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers Date Played:ย ย May 27, 2019 Price:ย $55/pp Length of Time:ย 60 Minutes Total # of Players:ย Up To 7PPL Difficulty Level:ย 6/10 Public/Private:ย Private Escaped?ย Yes Hint:ย A different angle of seeing things may reveal some exiting surprises! This was our first stop in Bergen, Norway. We were pleasantly surprised with the location of this escape room as itโs located in Bryggen (the old wharf of Bergen). Itโs been granted as a UNESCO World Heritage site. This town was part of the important Hanseatic Leagueโs trading empire from the 14th to the mid-16th century. Today, the number of buildingโs remaining in the area are about 61 and they cover over 13,000 square meters. Upon arriving, we headed into this small alleyway with many small shops and each of them had a mysterious appeal. We found the entrance of the escape room looking like a private home, but the signs made it easy for us to know which doorbell to press. We were greeted by the owner as we climbed up the hundred year-old stairs into a lobby that was SLANTED! The owner informed us that these buildings are slowly sinking into the ground at the rate of 8mm per year, which creates this areaโs interesting architectural lines.ย We have never played in a โsinkingโ escape room before... Challenge Accepted! "Hanseaticus" is the room we chose to attempt here, but they do have several other choices. It was creative for the owner to utilize the actual heritage of the original building structure (the walls you see in this room is the original logs from centuries ago) to develop a story and build an escape room out of it. Our mission was to find the treasures stolen by the smuggling brothers of Hanseaticus and it was a success! We had two people and a good amount of time to spare. For โlock loversโ, this is THE room for you. The room is not high tech, but it goes with the theme very well and the design immediately makes you feel like youโve been transported to back in the days. The puzzles are very well designed, and we appreciated the clarity of the flow of the room with no red herrings. There were a few cool pieces of props that we have not seem before. If you are an expert player, I would say donโt over think things as we did get semi stuck on a puzzle that was very simple, but we made it very difficult for ourselves. This is definitely a fun room to try for beginners and you wonโt be disappointed with the โlock opening sensationโ that we look for every time weโre in a room. If you're feeling competitive, gather a group of 14 and they have an identical room that you can challenge each other with! We will be back to attempt another โslantโ challenge! Escape Hunt is a franchise that started in 2013 in Bangkok, Thailand. Currently, they have spread all over the world. However, they do not produce the same games for each location. A lot of the escape room themes are particular to that region such as the one we are trying today. As we climbed up the stairs to the escape room, we were quickly impressed by the lobby dรฉcor. It was very welcoming with a safe place to lock up your belongings before entering the lobby area with tables/chairs and water offered at every location. Thereโs even a โfireplaceโ! As we got comfortable, we were debriefed on the storyline of โEscape from Akershus Fortressโ. Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers The story takes place in May 7th, 1945, the day before Norwegian's Independence. We were the last โPelle-groupโ of prisoners that must escape the Akershus Fortress before being executed by the Nazis. Time is of the essence! We started out in two different jail cells and had to work together to reunite at the end. We were impressed by the set design as well as the maintenance of the condition of the room. The dรฉcor and the props implemented kept with the war theme throughout the entire gameplay. There was one puzzle that we made difficult for ourselves again and had a โduhโ moment after. So like all other review posts, for the expert players, donโt over think a puzzle. There was definitely a โbombdiggityโ ending! We always appreciate a great experience from beginning to end. So if that's something that you are looking for,, this is definitely one of the locations to visit. Feeling competitive? You can book the same identical room and compete with each other! They also have another game currently at their location called โThe Central Bank Robberyโ that we would love to try when we return to Bergen in the future. Also, the former manager that we interviewed - Katriina Penttila wrote her master thesis on escape games titled - "History of Escape Games". This is our third stop in Bergen, Norway. This location was a bit further out from the city center and we really appreciate the owner picking us up so that we can fit this into our schedule. With that said, this location has plenty of parking. It is located in an old warehouse area which is quite fitting for the theme of the two rooms that they offer. The lobby area is quite spacious, and they even have their own workshop located on the premise. Iโm sure they will produce a lot more intriguing games in the future as they definitely have the space. The games that they are currently offering at the location are โThe Cubbyholeโ and โContagionโ. We were โluckyโ enough to become the victims of the โThe Cubbyholeโ room. Since the room is quite spacious, we definitely recommend that you book with a group of friends as it was a bit challenging for just the two of us. To start the game, we were told to close our eyes and hold on to the person's shoulders in front of you as they lead you somewhere into a basement. As we opened our eyes, we found ourselves locked up in a cell. The eeriness of the semi-dark room gave me some goosebumps and immediately made me feel like a victim of some psycho killer. All I can think about at the time was I better hurry before time runs out and he comes in from somewhere! For those of you that know me, Iโm a scaredy-cat (I must be prepared for all situations). Luckily, this room doesnโt have a live actor, so I was basically just scaring myself. The music was quite fitting and set the tone for the room. While some of the puzzle pieces were a bit โdangerousโ in terms of sharpness, it definitely added authenticity to the props. We are sure the owner has made some adjustment by now. We liked some of the unique puzzle designs in there that weโve never seen before. Some challenges would test you on what can be utilized if you were actually in that situation. It was a bummer that we couldn't play the full hour since we were late for returning back to our cruise ship. But based on the explanation of the game from the owner, we felt that we could've completed it in time if we had the hour. This game is meant for a bigger group as there are a good number of puzzles to be solved and of course for some extra courage, you can โcuddleโ together in the โcubbyholeโ! ย Also, the owner that we interviewed is part of the Norwegian music group - "Stevie Starfish". *** We regret to inform this company has closed its doors*** Disclosure: We thank Bergen Escaperoom for comping our tickets for this game. She seemed to have been trapped by someone there. We have to get her out before the doctors comes back and start to do experiments on her! Anne stood in the center of what appears to be an office and the game began. Even though the room appeared small in size, there were a lot of puzzles hidden within. We really liked the drastic set design change from the office to the asylum room. The white walls were full of crazy writings that made you feel like your head is spinning and don't know what was actually useful for this game. We enjoyed the challenge and was able to get out with 7 minutes left on the clock. There was one puzzle we felt that we didn't really get to participate in and was given the answer. This room would be enjoyed by puzzle lovers for sure. We liked the organized inventory list as it helped the team with working on different puzzles simultaneously. Oh, and for people who are scaredy-cats like me, don't worry there were no jump scares. Ok, I lied, maybe just one tiny one, but it was worth it! *** We regret to inform this game is no longer available for booking but check out other games on their website*** Disclosure: We thank EPIC Escape for comping our tickets for this game. Their staff was incredibly friendly and all seem to be escape room enthusiasts themselves. The lobby/ waiting area wasn't that spacious, but then again there were only two escape room games being offered. The "Ancient Temple" room was extremely fun w/ a lot of hidden puzzles that guided you from one to the other. The decor of the room was quite impressive and had a lot of technology implemented into the design. Our experience remained true to the storyline and kept us extremely involved the whole time. Your mission is to sneak into Dr. Williamโs office, solve all the mysteries and traps he had hidden, and find out about Patient Zero, the only prisoner who escaped. Can you figure out what happened at the prison, find the identity of Patient Zero, and escape safely from his office? ๐ฏ HIT THE BULLSEYE I loved the puzzles that made sense when I solved them. They fit well with the theme and story. The size of the room was relatively small, but good numbers of puzzles were there. I enjoyed solving various types of puzzles, such as simple riddles and more complex logic puzzles. The game started in an ordinary office, but the fact that this place was a facility of the old prison added extra spookiness along with the terrifying story of the game (at least for me!). The game master watching us over the video camera showed the hints on the computer screen. It was easy to understand what the game master was trying to tell without revealing the answer, and I could read again when I needed it. The game master explained safety precautions well to protect things inside this historical place and players. ๐งฉ MISSED THE MARK I cannot think of anything. ๐น TAKE A SHOT? โOutbreakโ was a thrilling and fun escape room to face the evil and madness of Dr. William in the office of the old prison. The story and puzzles nicely matched the facility of the prison. Although nothing suddenly jumped in and scared me, the game was quite creepy in a good way. This game is for people who love mystery and thrillers and for people who don't mind blood and fake body parts. This game is a sequel to โContagionโ, but you do not need to play the first one beforehand. - REMOTE: Prison Escape by Real Life Gaming NL - "Free Yuri Koblenko"
Video/Photos provided by Prison Escape by Real Life Gaming NL Company: Prison Escape by Real Life Gaming NL Game: Free Yuri Koblenko Country: Netherlands ๐ณ๐ฑ Language: English, Dutch Type of Game: Remote Escape Room ๐ฃ Genre: Mission Date Played: 7/10/2020 Difficulty (based on 5 players): 6/10 Size of Team: 2-7 Players Time: 45 Minutes Price: โฌ109/Team of max 7 ppl We were supposed to go to the Netherlands in May for our NL escape rooms tour and to attend Up The Game, but everything got cancelled and the world switched everything to online. "Prison Escape" was one of the games we were really looking forward to play in person. The physical location of the game is at the Prison dome in Breda. Hundreds of people will come from all over the world to play the game since it only runs few times a year. Even though we haven't played the game yet, we've heard so much about it. Some of our friends even went back to play it again to get a difference experience. Even though the goal is to escape from your prison, the main concept is not build on "escaping". The interaction between the guards, players and other characters in the game is what makes the game memorable. Since the game could have many outcomes due to your choices and other people's choices, it's definitely replayable. Now that I've set the back story on "Prison Escape", lets talk about "Prison Escape Online". "Prison Escape Online" gave us a clear goal right from the beginning. Our mission was to assist the hacker to free Y. koblenko from prison as he's been framed. The game confirmation email contained a bunch of important documents that we suggest you study in advance. It would be helpful to assemble a little group chat before the game to get a clear idea on the situation. The entire experience was around 45 minutes (this included the intro video and debriefing by the hacker). The actual play time was 20 minutes. There was no time to waste. The game felt like a hybrid between a digital game and a remote escape room. It was definitely very unique and we haven't seen anything like it. With the information we were given, we had to come up with a plan to inform the hacker. We only had about 5 minutes to come up with the entire idea. Once began to implement it, there was no turning back. Since we were interacting with the actors (there were 4 different ones we've encountered) in real time, we definitely felt the pressure. The actors were all amazing. I wish we had more time to chat with them. They were really into their characters and even though we only had a minute or so with each of them, we were able to get a clear idea on who they were and what they were capable of doing. I would have also loved to be able to see more of the actual dome since it must've been pretty spectacular. The cost of the game must be due to the amount of actors that were involved and the rental of the enormous space. We understand that the game creator probably wanted to recreate the same feel as the real life Prison Escape experience but as an online player who's done over 100 remote escape rooms by now, we felt that the value for play time probably would disappoint some players. Most of the online experiences we've played are priced lower and gives the players 60-90 minutes of play time. Our suggestion would be to perhaps cut the intro shorter so at least the players could have another try within the 45 minutes limit (it wasn't until when we failed that we finally understood how everything was supposed to work)? Or maybe the hacker's debriefing could be included in the documents that were sent to the players in advance. This way, at least 15 minutes would be saved to be used as play time. Since the real game really emphasized on this element of interaction with actors, we would hope to be able to experience it more online. If some of these suggestions could be implemented, we would love to experience it again as it's truly a special game in its own category. We can't wait to play this in person so we would be able to discuss with the rest of our friends who's played the game and to be able to rave about it to the others! This is an 2.0 version of that game. ๐๐ ท๐ ด ๐๐๐ พ๐๐ We've been assembled here to help an innocent man break out of prison. We failed the first time, will we be able to complete our mission this time? ๐๐ ท๐ ด ๐ ถ๐ ฐ๐ ผ๐ ด ๐ ฟ๐ ป๐ ฐ๐ Version 2.0 of the game was still played on the same online platform. This time we each were assigned a "role" so that when the mission started, every one knew what they had to do. I wanted to be the leader but "Blue" (the game master) took my position. Your teammates will decide on other roles like strategist, interrogator, grifter, data miner, map person, researcher, and chameleon. This was part of the 45 minute game play and serves as the preparation time before the rescue mission. There was much less reading to do in version 2.0 and most of the back story was told by the game master. In the previous version, reading took a long time and did not leave much time for the players to strategize so we're glad to see the improvements in this new version. You will also be given the prison's blueprints (yes they are the actual blueprints of the prison! How cool is that?). These were in PDF formats so it's best to open these side by side with the Zoom screen. The game play had a better flow this time since the game master was able nudge and guide us and towards the right path if we're off track. We really enjoyed the adrenaline rush by helping Yuri making that escape at the very last second. ๐๐ ท๐ ด ๐ ฟ๐๐๐๐ ป๐ ด๐ This is not your typical escape room or tabletop puzzle game. It's more of strategy and role play. Your goal is to get through those guards by gaining information on them and utilizing your communication skills. You'll also need to observe details and take actions quickly. The role assigning really helped as the team leader or the person who's in charge of that specific role will be able to make a call quickly on the next actions since the real play time is approximately 30 minutes or so. ๐ ฒ๐ ป๐ พ๐๐ ธ๐ ฝ๐ ถ ๐๐ ท๐ พ๐๐ ถ๐ ท๐๐ Version 2 of the "Prison Escape" felt more organized and enjoyable than the previous version. It gave us a glimpse of what a real attempted escape would have been like. You needed to think fast and deal with sudden and unplanned situations. I felt like I was watching an episode of "Breaking Bad". Working together and making quick decisions as a team was the only way to succeed in this game. We can't wait to experience this in real life one day. Oh and one more thing, "Blue", you know I'm a better leader than you right? ๐ (If you do decide to try this game, please remember to let them know that you heard it from"ESCAPETHEROOMers"!) In addition to the escape room gameplay, customer service is always taken into consideration when we write our reviews. First, we're going to provide you w/ some of THE PROS: We were excited to visit the one and only escape room available in Oranjestad, Aruba - "Escape Room Aruba". They have a great location right off of L.G. Smith Boulevard (the main strip where all the hotels & restaurants are located). They are located across the street from the Hyatt Hotel (across the parking lot). There are tons of buses available w/a stop right near the facility. You can take Bus L10 (towards Malmok)/ L10A (towards Arashi) or L10B (towards Marriott). They all pass by the bus stop Hyatt Hotel where you can get on/off. Once you enter inside, there's a check-in desk and some lockers for your personal belongings. There's only one escape room available - "CSI Escape Room". Prior to entering your room, you are given a CSI vest to wear and one briefcase. Once you enter inside, you are inspecting a crime scene. The decor of the room was quite impressive and definitely set the tone for an immersive experience. There were some puzzle designs that we've never come across before and they went w/ the storyline very well. THE CONS: We didn't really get a full positive experience from the host. Most of the hints were very unclear and we did not get a clear explanation at the end. We feel that with improved customer service, this room deserves a much higher rating than this. Weather we escape or not or with a lot of time left or not, we are not really there for the competing factor, we wanted to enjoy the room and have fun. ** UPDATE - We regret to inform that "Escape Room Aruba" has closed. #review #escaperooms #escape #rooms #games #escaperoomaruba #csiescapegame #csi #escapegame #aruba #noord #abcislands

Video/ Photos provided by Logic Locks Company: Logic Locks Game: The Secrets of Eliza's Heart Country: Netherlands ๐ณ๐ฑ Language: English Type of Game: Remote Escape Room ๐ฃ Genre: Adventure, Mystery Date Played: 5/21/2020 Difficulty (based on 4 players): 8/10 Size of Team: 2-7 Players Time: 80 Minutes Price: โฌ16,50 - โฌ37.50 pp (pending # of players) Here we were, a group of brave souls, joined together by this supernatural investigation of the disappearance of Eliza. Our avatar was great at getting us immersed into the story line. There was a nice intro and a strong ending. We were very excited and curious to open that "door"... The ambiance of the room created a mysterious feel right from the beginning. There was a good amount of searching we had to do along with a handful of various puzzles. The camera was pretty shaky for our experience. It would be nice to have a sturdier camera especially when there's no inventory list and there were times we had to read messages. Some puzzles were also very creative in the use of physical elements. We loved the surprising shift of set design and the twist in the story. At times we did feel the avatar was a bit too slow with movements but good thing we have an entire 80 minutes to experience this. This was a room that I would've loved to play in person, although the avatar did do a great job of recreating some creepy moments for us! *** We regret to inform this game is no longer available for booking but check out other games on their website*** Disclosure: We thank Logic Locks for comping our tickets for this game. This was a very different experience from other companies as most will sent you a confirmation with the zoom link and basically materials you'll need for game day. We enjoyed having some interaction with the character we're about to meet and the build up of the story. This also cut out the intro time the game master usually would need. The intro video was very cinematic and made us feel like we were right there with Alice, our avatar for the game. Alice stood in the center of a well designed casino lobby and our game began. We enjoyed the high tech and special effects that were build into the game. At the same time, we also loved that we're able to use some basic deductive reasoning like a detective on a murder case. My favorite part was the twist at the end. We really felt the urgency of trying to help out avatar out of the "situation". It would've been great if she was able to interact a little more with us. There was no inventory link for this game, instead you'll need to have a QR scanner in order to receive larger images of the inventory found. It was a bit inconvenient for us as some players as it didn't work for them. It was also hard to find previously scanned images on the phone tabs. We think with an added inventory list on the PC it would make the game flow much better. However this did not affect us from successfully completing the mission. The experience as a whole was quite enjoyable for all of us. The cinematic videos intermingled with the avatar's live actions really made this game felt REAL! *** This game can no longer be booked as a remote game but can still be booked as an in-person experience *** (If you do decide to try this game, please remember to let them know that you heard it from"ESCAPETHEROOMers"!) - Sky High Escape Room - "Casino Mortale"
LOCATION: Almere, Netherlands Photo above is property of Sky High Escape Room ๐ย ย ETR DECODER ๐ GAME: Casino Mortale ๐ DATE PLAYED: May 18, 2023 ๐ฌ GENRE: Thriller ๐ง DIFFICULTY (Based on 3 ppl): 8/10 ๐ฅ TOTAL # OF PLAYERS: 3-6 ppl ๐ LENGTH OF TIME: 60 Mins. ๐ฐ PRICE: โฌ129/Group โ๏ธ BOOKING TYPE: Private ๐ ESCAPED/ COMPLETED?: Yes (57:48) ๐ THE STORY You enter the Casino Mortale as detectives trying to solve the untimely murder of its owner. You quickly discover that so many of the people he knew have their own motives for his demise. Can you discover who committed the crime? And since youโre there, maybe you want to take advantage of the situation and rob his safe? Video above is property of Sky High Escape Room ๐ฏ HIT THE BULLSEYE Before the game begins, we receive a couple of emails that provide extra depth to the story. One of the emails contains a newspaper article which might help you later in the game, so come prepared. Despite taking place in a very small area, the game packs a lot in side. Almost everything around you will be important during your game at some point, so pay close attention to everything you see. Like in their other room (Painkiller), youโll notice that the story is important throughout the game, and like Painkiller there is also a twist as you approach the finale. ๐งฉ MISSED THE MARK The size of the room does limit the variety of puzzles which can be offered. A lot of our time is spent reading materials and solving puzzles on a computer. An important piece of information is hidden in an area which was hard to access because the item it is housed in was damaged (on purpose or not, I donโt know). Since it was damaged, we didnโt expect to find something in it. In other escape rooms, if you remove the handle from a drawer (for example), it is normally because you arenโt supposed to open it. ๐น TAKE A SHOT? For teams looking for heavy logic and deduction-based puzzles this is a challenging room to play. Due to the size constraints, we found three to be an ideal time size. We wouldnโt recommend playing with more than four. โน๏ธ ADDITIONAL INFO Free parking available on site There is a waiting area with seating, lockers, drinks for purchase, and a bathroom.
