While some changes are typically anticipated, the designers executed multiple transformations that genuinely astonished us. The ingenious use of space for "hidden" areas and jump scares was impressive, providing us with numerous "wow" moments. The players adeptly "pieced" together the puzzles (literally) and unraveled the story of the little girl by solving them. We thoroughly enjoyed this aspect of the game. The props in this escape room were common items found in a child's room, yet the creators skillfully embedded puzzles within them. There was an engaging domino mechanism we activated, which was enjoyable to watch and truly evoked the feeling of being in a child's world. The creators' meticulous attention to detail was evident throughout the room, from clothing to games to small trinkets. Our favorite part was likely towards the end of the game when we discovered some dark secrets hidden within the room. We appreciated how the ending was presented to us using a very fitting item. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK Certain props require updating, as it was unclear whether they were intended as part of a clue or simply needed maintenance. We encountered a puzzle where the clues appeared ambiguous. The connection between the input and the provided clues was uncertain, allowing for multiple interpretations. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? We greatly appreciated the attention to detail in the creation of this room. Think Escape Games mentioned that some of their game masters were involved in its development. It's evident that considerable thought went into it, with various ideas coming together to form the game we see today. This room is brimming with secrets waiting to be discovered. Engage with intricate puzzles that challenge your problem-solving skills and enhance the immersive storyline. Shadows, dim corners, and flickering lights create a spooky atmosphere, requiring caution as spirits may react dangerously if disturbed. Do you have the courage to uncover the truth behind this seemingly innocent girl's world? Most importantly, can you keep a secret? Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE Occasionally, we really enjoy a room that satisfies our desire to open numerous locks, and this is one of those rooms. Many props were used, all perfectly suited to the magical theme. Some puzzles required players to actually perform a magic trick, which was ingenious. Certain moments of insight, when a mystery was unraveled, seemed as if a "spirit" played a role—or was it magic? Either way, we were delightfully surprised. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK Some props need updating. One in particular was essential for revealing a clue, but the wording was so worn out that it was hard to see, especially in dim lighting. This room could benefit from more storyline rather than just solving one puzzle after another. We weren't clear on why the theater is haunted or what the final action accomplished as a conclusion. One of the props was used twice for puzzles, which could be easily overlooked by experienced players accustomed to a "one and done" rule. Some props for the final puzzle were introduced too early. We were unsure how to use them and wasted time trying to incorporate them into the current puzzles we needed to solve. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? Just like Houdini's fascination with locks, there's a treasure trove of mystery to explore in this room! While it may not boast high-tech gadgets, it brilliantly weaves basic magic tricks into a charmingly simple setting. Get ready to divulge yourself in magic by cracking puzzles, and you might even sense a spirit orchestrating some of the enchanting happenings! This adds an exhilarating twist you won't find in your typical magic escape room. So don't count on a mere "Abracadabra" to set you free; you'll need to rely on your wits and teamwork to escape this haunted theater! We took pleasure in "discovering" what happened to grandma by examining items both inside and outside the house, all while remaining alert for any movements from the killer. The flickering porch lights, broken fence, and bloody handprints were amazing elements in the set design, effectively creating the creepy atmosphere. If you appreciate a "divide and conquer" approach to puzzle-solving, this game will be appealing, as that was our strategy throughout the entire experience. Certain puzzles ingeniously utilized props that could easily be identified as typical tools or items found in a grandmother's house, but were transformed into clues for a puzzle. We particularly enjoyed the final puzzle, as it cleverly connected a "before" and "after" scenario and instilled a sense of urgency to escape from the ominous woods. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK One of the drawings intended as a clue was unclear about the actions it required. Some shapes seemed like unnecessary distractions. A lock designed for directional use also featured letters and numbers, causing confusion. We recommend altering the puzzle or the lock for clearer input. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? The flickering lights and jump scares heightened anxiety, echoing ominously as we feared the killer's return. The tension was palpable as we navigated the chilling environment, alert to danger. Victory came when we got the rescue phone working, its dial tone a beacon of hope. Relief washed over us, a crucial step towards escape in a game that tested our wits and nerve. Even beginners can navigate the killer's traps by being observant. The game rewards exploration with hints and clues for survival. Every detail, from objects to environmental changes, matters. For those who enjoy an eerie atmosphere and complex murder mysteries, this game is perfect. Update - February 15, 2025 Brandon and I recently played " Neighborhood Watcher ", and we'd like to contribute our our thoughts on the game. Right from the start, the game master hit us with a brilliant twist that instantly set our nerves on edge. The game was a rollercoaster of emotions, with moments of puzzle-solving providing a brief respite from the intense "acting," only for the tension to ramp up again once we completed our tasks. It was like a gripping game of "cat and mouse," with an "unknown" fate that kept us on our toes until the very end. We absolutely loved reliving our childhood dreams of being in a horror movie! P.S. It genuinely felt as though we were Mario and Luigi, partly due to our height difference. Anticipating the design of the subsequent rooms was one of the most enjoyable aspects of the experience. The transitions between rooms were executed seamlessly. Each room featured a unique method of opening the door to the next, maintaining consistency with its individual theme. The puzzles were highly inventive. Some impressed us with their technical complexity, while others stood out for the craftsmanship of the props themselves. We had an amusing moment when we believed we had bypassed a "shortcut," only to discover that everyone was required to take the longer route. Despite this, it was an enjoyable attempt. The final "exit" of the game was skillfully designed to integrate our previous experiences, creating a cohesive meta puzzle that culminated in a satisfying conclusion. The game flow was smooth, and we never needed to pause for clarification. Despite the bizarre nature of the experience, everything made sense as they were simply peculiar dreams within Mr. Bestunkovich's mind. 🧩   MISSED THE MARK This game is almost perfect for us, except for one sequence that leads to a solution, which we found a bit lengthy, especially considering the possible challenge in understanding the actual clue. Shortening the sequence might help more players successfully escape the game. It is certainly a game that players should fully experience! 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? Creating this room must have been an absolute blast, as it seamlessly blends so many dream elements into one exhilarating experience! One moment, you'll feel like you're in a video game, and the next, you're transported into a laboratory. What on earth is Mr. Bestunkovich dreaming up every day? The game is both challenging and thrilling, packed with heart-pounding moments that make you feel like you're in an endless book with chapters that could go on forever. Every time I opened a new realm, I couldn't help but think, "How many rooms are left after this one?" Secretly, I hoped it would never end because we were having such a fantastic time uncovering a new mission each time. It felt like multiple escape rooms rolled into one epic adventure. If you're new to escape rooms, I definitely recommend starting with their other games and bringing along a few seasoned players for this one, as it's quite challenging. We spent about 70 minutes, and even as experienced players, we were stumped by one of the dream sequences at the beginning. This truly was a "dream" come true for enthusiasts like us! Escape Artist expertly secured the decor and ensured only essential puzzle elements were accessible throughout the room. The game incorporated a variety of puzzles, ranging from simple observational tasks to those requiring players to collaborate effectively as a team. The final task was clearly defined and aligned with the storyline, providing a satisfying sense of completion. A prop used towards the end offered an unexpected reveal. This device was novel to us, as we had not encountered it in other escape rooms, making it a delightful surprise. 🧩   MISSED THE MARK One of the puzzles could have demonstrated greater creativity in the placement of the clue. The storyline could have been more cohesively integrated with the puzzles. We didn't perceive any connections between the puzzles and the narrative until the conclusion. Incorporating special effects throughout the game could have enhanced its "haunting" atmosphere. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? This room employs minimal high-tech elements, which aligns well with the old manor theme. While many of the puzzles are familiar from other escape rooms, they are creatively adapted to suit this theme. The game flow is well-designed and linear, ensuring that players do not remain stuck for extended periods. Although we would have preferred a slightly more "haunting" ambiance, the current setup is certainly family-friendly. Your quest involves discovering the four orbs that will light your path... Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE This room is ideal for larger groups because of the ample space and the fact that nearly all the puzzles are non-linear, ensuring everyone has something to engage with. There's an intriguing contraption that immediately caught our attention upon entering the room. It's not a challenging physical puzzle but is definitely enjoyable to solve. We had to assemble a puzzle that revealed something at the end. We appreciated that all the props were relevant to the time and story, and this solution also resulted in a cool reveal. There's a multi-step puzzle that provided a satisfying conclusion after assembling all the pieces. Even though there weren't many high-tech items in this room, we still experienced a few "wow" moments that we enjoyed from simple light effects. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK We encountered a clue on a box we needed to open, which pointed us to four elements we had to examine. The hint was perplexing because it wasn't really about identifying them individually. We recommend removing the prop on those elements as it seemed like a distraction. This room has significant potential due to its "quest" atmosphere. It would be wonderful if Escape Venture could add their unique touch to make it more "quest-like" in terms of set design. There are many usable props, but currently, it feels like one large room without any hidden surprises. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? This room was originally created by Escape Goat and was later acquired by Escape Venture. The game flow in this room was significantly improved, and the puzzles were more challenging and innovative compared to " Area 51 ". The quest was clear from the start, and we knew exactly what we needed to find to save the village. The puzzles truly felt like challenges we had to overcome to discover the items necessary to find the 4 orbs and lift the spell. If you enjoy "divide and conquer" gameplay, you'll appreciate this room, as there's plenty to do whether you're in a small or large group. Perhaps the most challenging part was the final decision at the end. Let us know what you chose! Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE The game master was deeply immersed in her character, and we thoroughly enjoyed how she introduced the storyline. The game featured a mechanism that was quite entertaining to "operate," and the input and output provided us with some chuckles. We liked solving a puzzle by connecting the visual clue with the hints we gathered from different parts of the room and then assembling the story. There was an interesting way that required us to collaborate as a team to solve a visual puzzle. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK One of the picture clues was quite confusing because its position could easily be linked with the locks and other clues in the area. This made us think it was a more complex multi-step puzzle rather than requiring a simple solution. However, the simple solution also lacked an "explanation" for what we needed to input. The wording on one of the mechanisms was unclear about what we were supposed to do with the solution we had found. An instruction pamphlet was missing a step. We eventually figured it out, but it would be helpful to include it. The ending felt like a "cliffhanger" because we would have preferred to see the finale rather than just "feel" it. We were unsure if we had completed everything we needed to do until the game master came in. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? This game evoked nostalgic memories of puzzles commonly used in other escape rooms. As an older game acquired by The Escape Ventures from Escape Goat some time ago, it falls slightly short in creativity compared to their own offerings. The game flow and clues were somewhat misaligned, but overall, we appreciated the concept. It serves well as an introductory experience for newcomers to the escape room scene. I highly recommend kicking off your adventure here before diving into their other locations for an eye-opening experience! Its application felt highly realistic, closely mirroring its use in the real world. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK An image puzzle in the game lacked clarity regarding the correspondence between images and their respective clues, ultimately requiring us to make guesses. A sticker on a prop later in the game caused confusion about its purpose. The game master informed us that it was "not in play." We suggest its removal. The finale provided an impressive space for the "wow" moment. We suggest incorporating an additional puzzle in this expansive area that could enhance the "urgency" of the final escape. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? The game seamlessly blended logic and physical puzzles with a heist theme, immersing players in a thrilling narrative. It engaged both mind and body, leading to the successful theft of the crown jewel. Family-friendly and appealing to all ages, it offered diverse puzzles for kids and adults, with physical challenges energizing younger players and intricate puzzles intriguing older ones. Surprising moments and unexpected twists added excitement, with cleverly designed obstacles and concealed clues enhancing the suspenseful atmosphere. It felt like there was a presence lurking in the shadows, tracking our every move! The sound effects and jump scares were expertly aligned with the storyline's atmosphere. At one particular moment, upon opening a door, there was a palpable hesitation to advance into the dimly lit hallway. During the game, there might be a need for one brave soul in the group to step up and be the champion. We enjoyed that decision-making moment. The game featured a distinctive prop that was unlike anything we had encountered before. Although it may have appeared in a movie, we were impressed by its implementation. It was fascinating to observe the prop's "reaction" to our actions within the room. The balance between providing some backstory through character narrative and not overdoing it was excellent. The game flow was really smooth in terms of puzzle design as well. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK One of the props didn't clearly reveal the answer, making it very challenging to see what was lighting up in the dark. We eventually had to brute force that puzzle. Perhaps that equipment could be adjusted, as it is a cool item and very fitting for this game. The ending seemed a bit abrupt. Although we completed the ritual, we thought it would be interesting to hear an explanation from the voice of a spirit in the house. This way, we would know the ritual was complete, and we wouldn't have been surprised when the game master entered. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? This game is likely my favorite among Escapology's creations. The exceptional set design, realistic environments, detailed decor, props, and sound effects crafted an immersive game setting. The captivating storyline is rich with twists, perfectly blending puzzle-solving with thrill. The inventive props and challenging puzzles demand teamwork and creative thinking, promoting camaraderie. We left feeling exhilarated and are eagerly looking forward to Escapology's future projects! The decor in the professor's office, with all those quirky map and artifact collections, made us feel like real explorers right away. Some puzzles felt more like a "treasure hunt" than your standard ones, which totally fit the game's theme. A fun physical puzzle near the end was perfect for both small and big groups of players. Everything we had to read was actually helpful for solving puzzles, so we didn't get bogged down with too much info. The task of "completing" and finding the missing artifact was an awesome way to wrap up the game. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK The doors in the game could look more like a "portals" instead of just regular office doors. There was a deduction puzzle in the game where the wording of the clues could be clearer. We got mixed up with the different ways to interpret some "clue definitions," so we had to ask the game masters for help. It might also be useful to show how many inputs there are and how often they'll be used. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? This jungle adventure is ideal for players who enjoy treasure and puzzle hunting. There are numerous details to observe both within the professor's office and in the jungle. The mission to obtain the final piece of treasure is challenging, but the sense of achievement upon securing it is immensely rewarding. This game is the most difficult offering from Edge Escape Game, so we recommend trying their other games first before attempting this one. Best of luck, adventurers! His assistance keeps going missing after every 13th act. Today is the 13th performance again and we've been called in by Sam to help his friend Casey (who's Noximilllian's latest assistance) to solve this mystery. Hopefully we'll be able to find the truth in time to save Casey from disappearing! 🆃🅷🅴 🅶🅰🅼🅴 🅿🅻🅰🆈 The scene opens with Casey meeting us at the theater and leading us down to the dressing room. We were intrigued by the intro right away since most of the remote games we've played started us off in the actual room. This little extra add-on definitely set Locurio apart from a lot of the companies out there. The game was played over Zoom with a live avatar and an inventory system provided by Mofang One. As we entered into the backstage area and dressing room, everything looked quite normal. The avatar gave us a quick tour of the room and we're able to start exploring thereafter. There were a lot of items to be examined, so definitely make sure you look through everything. Whenever an item needed a closer look, we would get an image in our inventory. The images were also removed immediately from the inventory after we've used it. The inventory portal made the game play quite smooth for all of us. The dresser was the centerpiece of the game. There were multiple locks on it. It immediately intrigued us to find out what's locked behind those doors. Although it screamed "Do not open me", we felt very satisfied whenever a lock came off of the dresser. The avatar was great at giving us subtle hints. It was quite useful for us to get on the right track for "team play" as this was the first time that we felt like teamwork was a requirement during a remote escape room and not an option. That was our favorite part of this experience. 🆃🅷🅴 🅿🆄🆉🆉🅻🅴🆂 As enthusiasts, we quite enjoyed the amount of puzzles in this game. Some were quite easy and we would get them right away but some really got us thinking for awhile. The puzzles worked well with the theme of the story line and changed it's context as the plot developed. There was one puzzle design that really "wowed" us. We have seen this type of team effort puzzle design in digital games before but never in a remote escape room. We really loved how they gave every player a chance to shine and contribute to the game play. The game is designed for 4 players and everyone should log in from their own device for the best experience. It could also be played with less than four but will definitely be challenging. Good thing you'll have 90 minutes for this game (although our team used about 60 minutes or so) and if the company doesn't have bookings after yours, they will even allow you extra time just to finish the game. 🅲🅻🅾🆂🅸🅽🅶 🆃🅷🅾🆄🅶🅷🆃🆂 We've played remote games before where prerecorded video elements were quite obvious and made the game play quite difficult to follow. In this game, you won't even notice what parts were prerecorded and what was live. Lucurio did a great job stitching the two together seamlessly. The puzzles were designed to work smoothly with the inventory system and that made the experience felt like we're playing there in person. Although we rather much play there in person, this was definitely gratifying for the time being. Yet, this is no ordinary library, and you would never predict where your journey might take you… 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE This game truly immerses you in the story, from the entertaining in-game actors to the incredible set design and detail. We felt like we were whisked to another (incredibly beautiful and charming) world, and I loved seeing the child-like wonder on my friends’ faces (knowing it was mirrored on my own). There was also some very cool “easter eggs” hidden in some of the set pieces that clue and foreshadow parts of the game and a clear progression of the storyline as you play. In between our oohing, awwing, there were lots of laughs (and one scream)! "The Storykeeper" is infused with whimsy, humor, and surprises. These come through not only in the character interactions and some of the puzzles, but also in the way that players are encouraged (but never required) to embody characters themselves. The puzzles in this game were fantastic, varied, and often well-designed to encourage cooperation. There was plenty to keep multiple players busy, and opportunity for some players to solve independently. While we didn’t necessarily get them all right away, they were all clear and satisfying once solved, with none of the dreaded “guess-what-I’m-thinking” type of enigmas. There was a few traditional locks in the game where thematically deemed appropriate, and some nice non-technical physical manipulations. In addition, there is a lot of underlying tech that is really well-integrated into the set design, resulting in magical effects that really heighten that sense of immersion. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK I am hard-pressed to come up with anything that missed the mark for our group (other than wishing it just kept going, of course)! However, there are a few things to be aware of that could be hindrances for some players. It is only for ages 12+ (with those under 18 needing to be accompanied by an adult). There is a small amount of crawling, so some mobility is required. There is an audio puzzle and one in dim lighting, so at least one member of the group should have decent hearing and night-vision. Finally, while I absolutely would not describe this as a scary experience, there is one mild jump scare (though I suspect there could be ways around that one if someone is particularly sensitive to them). 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? I absolutely loved "The Storykeeper" ! It is no surprise to me that it was ranked by TERPECA (Top Escape Rooms Project Enthusiasts Choice Awards) as one of the top 50 escape rooms in the world, and it is one of my favorite games ever. The game play is smooth and satisfying, and the immersion is incredible. The attention to detail, dedication to creating transportive sets, unfolding of the storyline, creativity and flow of puzzles, and enhancement of the experience with entertaining in-game actors truly elevate this game. Another local escape room owner described it to me as “art,” and I have to agree! In addition to the overall caliber, the unique, whimsical theme is right up my alley. Fearing for their own safety, the current assistant has called you here to try to determine what has become of the missing persons and to save them from a similar fate. 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE While you receive the more standard introduction (don’t destroy things, here’s how to use a directional lock, general backstory, etc.) in the main lobby, you also get an introduction from the current magician’s assistant in the game-specific waiting area. This extra touch of a character actor really adds to your investment in the story. As you enter the game, you feel like you are entering a refined magician’s room. They’ve managed to incorporate all kinds of tropes without it seeming cheesy or overdone. The set design overall is really well done and has some nice surprises that really impact the atmosphere. The puzzles in the game are very cleanly designed and challenging (particularly in the first section), but fair. Be sure to search thoroughly! The design is quite non-linear, so there are lots of puzzles that can be worked on simultaneously by larger groups. They do a nice job of utilizing many of the magic-themed items, and having one puzzle that really encourages good teamwork. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK While certainly not a major issue, our group definitely struggled more with some of the puzzles in the first part of the game (though they were totally fair). By the time we reached the second part, we were feeling a bit short on time. The puzzles in that part seemed quite a bit easier, so we finished in time. It would have been fun to have a bit more balance in difficulty and a little more time to savor the experience in the second section. However, this division did add to some of the tension as the clock was ticking down and gave us a lot of quick wins before the final victory. There are a few things to be aware of that could be hindrances for some players. This game is only for ages 12+ (with those under 18 needing to be accompanied by an adult). There is an audio puzzle and some parts in dim lighting. While I would not describe it as a scary room, there are some dark themes and occult references. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? If you sadly can only play one Locurio game, it should be " The Storykeeper " . However, that is based purely on the absolute brilliance of that room, and no reflection on "The Vanishing Act" , which is a great game in its own right, with a somewhat more classic escape room feel. With the exception of some of the limitations described above, this game would be a great choice for enthusiasts, unless you hate locks. Personally, I still find it very satisfying to click them open (in comparison to their other game, this one relies more on many varieties of traditional locks and more analog puzzles, though there is one fun piece of tech at the end)! There are some challenging parts, so this room might not be ideal for those without any puzzling experience (though you are not limited in hints). Historical accuracy: For those of you who are familiar with Studio 54, you'll find many true to life decorative flourishes, as well as a collection of celebrity photos that were taken at the actual club back in the day. Wide open spaces: This is a large room with plenty of space for a crowd, befitting the subject matter! It would make for a fun party setting. Playful atmosphere: It encourages you to dance, as well as play Dj and bartender, maintaining a festive vibe that will keep you smiling for the full hour in this fresh, fun take on the speakeasy format. Photoshoot!: Once you are done, you and your crew are invited to enjoy a photoshoot in various locations. This was much more than the typical quick victory photo, and we were totally there for it! 🧩 MISSED THE MARK We appreciated the thematic nature of many of the puzzles, but they were primarily observation-based, and we didn't experience those major A-ha! highs. There was one piece that, while authentic, could be a red herring to those not intimately familiar with bartending. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? If you are part of a fun-loving group ready to get their groove on, this room is for you! It would be a great location for bachelor/bachelorette parties, reunions, and other festive occasions. We also encourage anybody who experienced the NYC night club scene back in the heyday of disco or appreciates historically accurate design to give this room a try. Come and rub elbows with the glitterati of the day! Experienced puzzlers should come with eyes wide open for a refreshing spin on the 'saloon' style of room and leave their expectations - and their worries - at the door. It's party time! ℹ️ ADDITIONAL INFO It is easy to find, with plenty of signage out front and free parking around the side of the building. There is a well decorated lobby with places to sit and plenty of fun escape room adjacent ephemera! It has a bathroom and coatroom, but no lockers.
