🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE
Upon entering the manor, we immediately sensed a potentially haunted presence. The atmospheric lighting, combined with occasional flashes of lightning visible through the windows, enhanced the eerie sensation.
The entire set design resembled a more sinister version of the game Clue. Various hidden passages were present, and there were distinct moments when it felt as though we were being observed.
The storyline was centered around various family members, with the puzzles and props clearly connected to each of them.
Almost every item in the room was utilized in some way within the puzzle framework. We were impressed by how certain items were integrated. We particularly enjoyed those involving tools.
🧩 MISSED THE MARK
We received an audio clue that was difficult to hear. It may be necessary to re-record it for clarity.
During the game, we managed to set several switches to the correct positions; however, the visual clues was not really needed for these position placements, leading to confusion in solving the puzzle.
🏹 TAKE A SHOT?
Despite the manor's eerie ambiance, it was likely the least intimidating game we've experienced at Escape Hour. It appears they have a penchant for designing sets for eerie-themed rooms, which aligns with our preferences. Their expertise in incorporating hidden elements was particularly evident in this game. Although the puzzles seemed somewhat less challenging compared to the other two games we've played, they remain one of the stronger companies in the Washington area in terms of overall experience. They are, after all, our Bullseye Award Player's Choice Winner, and it's easy to see why!
