🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE
Upon entering the world of Temetra, we were welcomed by an endearing small creature that served as our guide throughout the game. We appreciated the ingenuity of integrating a storyline character as the Game Master's assistant.
The set design immediately created an eerie atmosphere as we entered the room, with dim lighting and various voodoo-like heads on the walls, along with other props that could plausibly be used in a ritual. It makes you wonder, is Temetra really just a pirate?
The game design effectively utilized the available space in innovative ways. We were pleasantly surprised by some unexpected entryways and the extent of exploration possible.
The puzzles were not overly challenging and followed a mostly linear progression. We collaborated throughout most of the gameplay. A highlight was a puzzle that required us to use items initially deemed insignificant, which ultimately proved to be crucial.
The sound and ambient lighting significantly enhanced the atmosphere across the various chapters of the game. The timing of the jump scares was executed perfectly.
🧩 MISSED THE MARK
Initially, we invested a significant amount of time searching for an item necessary to begin the game, despite having already acquired it. It would have been beneficial if the Game Master had provided guidance in this regard.
We encountered a prop prematurely, raising the question of whether it could be concealed until needed. We spent considerable time on it, yet it was not possible to activate it until a later stage.
🏹 TAKE A SHOT?
Escape Hour did an incredible job crafting a storyline that brilliantly captures a pirate's quest for treasure in a refreshingly unique way! Instead of setting sail, you find yourself in a cabin that eerily feels like being trapped by a witch, reminiscent of Hansel and Gretel—minus the candy, replaced by spooky voodoo masks. The thrill of this game lies in navigating through various challenges and surviving until you seize the treasure, all while avoiding the wrath of any spirits along the way. There were countless moments when we felt the watchful eyes of Temetra in the room. Kudos to the creator for conjuring such a chilling atmosphere. If "The Cabin: Final Chapter" is a bit too intense for you, but you're eager for a taste of the spookiness, this is your perfect opportunity! The treasure awaits!
