LOCATION : Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA Photo above is property of Escape-topia Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 📝 ETR DECODER 🔑 GAME : Enter The Nether 📅 DATE PLAYED : November 21, 2021 🎬 GENRE : Horror, Supernatural 🧠 DIFFICULTY (Based on 2 ppl) : 5.5/10 👥 TOTAL # OF PLAYERS : 2-10 ppl 🕒 LENGTH OF TIME : 60 Mins. 💰 PRICE : $29-35/PP (pending on group size) ☎️ BOOKING TYPE : Private 🔓 ESCAPED/ COMPLETED? : Yes 📖 THE STORY A boy has disappeared and you and your friends have gathered a search party to help find him. The missing boy's parents said he was last seen in his bedroom, but there seems to be strange noises coming from inside... Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE The set design for " Enter The Nether " was cleverly deceiving. You walk inside a typical 80's themed boy's bedroom that's decorated with movie posters and filled with toys from that era. Little do you know... there's so much more!! The sci-fi element of the storyline and the set design was well paired together. The puzzles were creatively implemented within the set design. Escape-topia really made use of the props and figured out ways to form puzzles out of them. There were a lot of nostalgic toys from the 80s. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK Some props in the room needs some updating. One of the clues were from a puzzle that no longer exist but we were confused by it. One of the tech in the room was very difficult to see but the way that they've used in a puzzle was something we haven't seen before. Hopefully they'll be able to make it more obvious to the eye. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? This room definitely has the "Stranger Things" vibe to it and we are pretty big fans of that show. It was as if we got to relive the scenes in real life. If you enjoy Sci-fi, you'll really get a kick out of this room. Escape-topia provides a complete package when it comes to immersion. Once you walk into the door, you'll be greeted by "Mother" and the concierge. You'll then proceed to check in like you're in a hotel and receive the keys to your room. Every time you enter a room, it'll be as if you've entered into a different realm. Only when you get out of the room will you realize that you're back into reality. If you enjoy immersive theater while solving puzzles, you might want to spend an entire day here! I know "Mother" will love for you to stay. ℹ️ ADDITIONAL INFO Free parking lot in front of facility Lobby area with seating Merchandise available for purchase Beverages available for purchase Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers ** We regret to inform you that Escape-topia has closed it's doors. - Perfect Escape Oslo - "Sinking Blücher"
LOCATION: Oslo, Norway Photo above is property of Perfect Escape Oslo Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 📝 ETR DECODER 🔑 GAME : Sinking Blücher 📅 DATE PLAYED : May 26, 2025 🎬 GENRE : Espionage, Thriller 🧠 DIFFICULTY (Based on 2 ppl) : /10 👥 TOTAL # OF PLAYERS : 2-7 ppl 🕒 LENGTH OF TIME : 60 Mins. 💰 PRICE : 900 NOK (2 ppl) - 2.450 NOK (7 ppl) ☎️ BOOKING TYPE : Private 🔓 ESCAPED/ COMPLETED? : Yes 📖 THE STORY The date is April 9, 1940. The Germans are advancing into the Oslo Fjord with all lights extinguished. Positioned at the Oscarsborg fortress, you receive Colonel Eriksen's decisive order: Fire at the ship! The safety of Oslo and the king rests on your shoulders. Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE The props and items used genuinely feel like authentic wartime artifacts, transporting us convincingly back to 1940. One particular prop made us feel like soldiers transmitting secret messages. We uncovered a brilliant secret reveal of a puzzle later in the game. It was an engaging tactile experience that demanded teamwork, and we thoroughly enjoyed collaborating on it. Even though some elements of the game were in Norwegian, we had no difficulty playing it in English. The finale featured an impressive set design that took us by surprise, creating the illusion of actual war participation. It would have been even more impressive if the prop could emulate sound and connect with the final strike. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK The lighting should have been dimmer to create a more urgent "time is of the essence" atmosphere. Additionally, incorporating sound elements throughout the gameplay would have enhanced the urgency of the war theme. Several prop items were reused for inputs and solutions. One particular item, which we assumed was no longer needed, was utilized again towards the game's end. It would be more effective if this could be transformed into a different type of discovery through another puzzle reveal. Some answers were presented as information, causing confusion since we believed we needed to solve them using the props and clues provided. Receiving the answer through another method left us questioning the necessity of solving it initially. The ending would be more impactful if our "input" elicited an immediate response rather than a delayed narration. It didn't convey a sense of game completion. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? We love playing local games that are unique to the region! This game not only provided us with loads of fun but also taught us history along the way. It was so engaging that it inspired me to watch a documentary about the war afterwards, helping me appreciate all the Easter Eggs and props included in the experience. Could the culprit be the leading actress, the director, or the deputy stage manager? Who is responsible? Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE From the moment we discovered a "secret entrance" and engaged with the actor, the experience captivated us even before we stepped into the room. The gradual revelation of each character's secrets and the array of potential culprits felt like a thrilling game of "Clue." We relished the role of detectives, fully immersing ourselves in our characters. The in-house crafted props were impressively detailed. We especially admired those used in a deduction puzzle, which truly made us feel like it was a part of a board game. The game featured several "magical" moments that I found particularly delightful, especially as I played the magician. Depending on your character, you'll encounter moments where fully embracing your role is crucial for immersion, as YOU truly are the stars. Some prop uses were exceptionally clever and innovative. We were thrilled to discover elements we hadn't encountered in other escape rooms before. The storyline seamlessly complemented the escape room. Despite its twists and turns, the ultimate goal remained clear. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK This section doesn't require much commentary since it was a great game. However, a smoother transition between the wardrobe room and the movie set connection would enhance the storyline, as the "transition" felt unclear. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? Are you captivated by the title of this experience? "The Emerald Phantom"? What could it possibly be? Let me assure you, there's so much more to it than just a thief and an emerald. The storyline is absolutely riveting from start to finish, with unexpected twists and turns throughout the game. You'll feel like you're starring in a movie while simultaneously playing the role of a detective cracking a case. The truth won't be unveiled until the very end. Are you ready? Get set! - Questomatica - "Arcade Invasion"
LOCATION: Amsterdam, Netherlands Photo above is property of Questomatica Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 📝 ETR DECODER 🔑 GAME : Arcade Invasion 📅 DATE PLAYED : May 24, 2025 🎬 GENRE : Sci-Fi 🧠 DIFFICULTY (Based on 2 ppl) : /10 👥 TOTAL # OF PLAYERS : 2-6 ppl 🕒 LENGTH OF TIME : 60 Mins. 💰 PRICE : 65 €/ pp (2 ppl) - 31 €/ pp (6 ppl) ☎️ BOOKING TYPE : Private 🔓 ESCAPED/ COMPLETED? : Yes 📖 THE STORY Mario has decided to open up an underground bar in the real world and plans to invite his friends from the video game realm to join the excitement. Unfortunately, the game's villains have discovered his scheme to create a portal and are now crossing over as well! Act quickly, defeat them in the games, and make your escape to the real world, or risk being stuck in the video game world forever! Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE The seamless transition from entering a secret "underground bar" to being transported into an 8-bit landscape was notably impressive, especially given the limited space. The game is filled with innovative concepts. Players will encounter numerous Easter eggs and props from various video games throughout the experience, offering a wealth of nostalgic moments. The game ingeniously transformed video game elements and props into life-sized items, allowing us to solve puzzles and complete levels, which truly made it feel like we were part of the video game experience. This was really enjoyable! The puzzles presented a wide range of challenges, some requiring keen observation, others demanding physical activity, and some necessitating logical thinking. A particularly enjoyable aspect of the game was the ability to cooperate and solve challenges together, making us feel like player 1 and 2 working as a team. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK We would have appreciated prior notification from the Game Master regarding an item that was malfunctioning at the start of the game. This would have eliminated any confusion about whether the puzzle was solved after the Game Master bypassed it. There was an input device that we were not aware could be utilized twice during the game. A bonus puzzle later in the game caused confusion because the item associated with it could have been opened earlier if we had solved the bonus puzzle. However, it eventually opened when we completed another task. The items intended for the bonus puzzle remained unused, leading to uncertainty throughout the game. It is unclear if this additional component is necessary. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? If you are an fan of video games, particularly classics such as Nintendo's Super Mario, Space Invaders, or Pac-Man, you will find this escape room highly enjoyable. It effectively brings these games to life, allowing you to interact with them directly. Although the escape room lacks a significant storyline, its primary goal is to accomplish missions and progress through the final door. Introducing more narrative elements, such as a rescue mission, could enhance the immersive experience for players. Bonus puzzles would be more engaging if they were standalone challenges where players could earn points or coins, rather than serving as shortcuts for solving subsequent puzzles. This game demonstrates great potential, especially given its longevity and the fact that it was innovative at its inception. I look forward to the possibility of a 2.0 version in the future! - ClockedIn - "The Murder Case at the Detective's Office"
LOCATION: Copenhagen, Denmark Photo above is property of ClockedIn Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers Date Played : Jun 7, 2019 Price : $33-44/ pp (pending on the amt of ppl) Length of Time: 60 Minutes Total # of Players: Up To 15 ppl Difficulty Level : 6.5/10 Public/Private : Private Escaped? Yes Hint: Time will tell... Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers We are super happy that we got to spend our last day in Copenhagen, Denmark at ClockedIn. ClockedIn is one of the original escape rooms in Copenhagen. They are currently also ranked #1 on TripAdvisor. We arrived bright and early, super-charged with coffee to start our 3 back-to-back games at this location. The owner was very accommodating and blocked out the entire morning to host us. ClockedIn is located in a very historical section area of Copenhagen. Right across the street from their location is the origin of "Carlsberg" beer, so be sure to check that out If you do visit. There’s also a busy shopping street full of brand name companies just a few minutes of a walk from there (you will see some of that footage in our Copenhagen travel video on our YouTube channel). As you enter the courtyard, you feel like you have entered into an apartment complex. It is quite unique for them to have a commercial space in there. We loved how the owner utilized the wall as the “trophy wall" for winners to write, sign, and draw on. Of course, we tagged ourselves three times since we were able to get out of all three rooms with just the two of us (proud moment). Let us know if you can find us on the walls and if you do, take a picture and tag us! The first room that we escaped was their original room - "The Murder Case at the Detective's Office”. The story line is that our team must enter the scene where a private detective was murdered and find out who killed him (this is so my kind of theme since I watch CSI religiously). I put on my Sherlock Holmes “hat” and took my Watson (Brandon) with me! Since we have played a good amount of escape rooms before, I would say we have seen a few tricks here in other places but there were a few that was cleverly utilized. We even got stumped on one later and had to use a clue to find it. Since this is one of their older rooms, it might be good idea to maintain some of the props. But overall they went along with the storyline quite well. I did like how the clues were very clear and to the point and it was easy to associate and solve. We felt that ClockedIn’s goal isn’t to trap people in their rooms but to let them have fun and actually escape. Perhaps that’s their secret of being #1 on the ranking. As an experienced player, we still had fun even though we got out with a good amount of time to spare. We can’t wait to get into their “The Mystery at The Secret Warehouse” room next! - ClockedIn - "The Mystery of the Secret Warehouses"
LOCATION: Copenhagen, Denmark Photo above is property of ClockedIn Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers Date Played : Jun 7, 2019 Price : $33-44 /pp (pending on the amt of ppl) Length of Time: 60 Minutes Total # of Players: Up To 15 ppl Difficulty Level : 7/10 Public/Private : Private Escaped? Yes Hint: One may seem to be different than the others... Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers Please refer to our “ The Murder Case at the Detective's Office ” review for an intro of ClockedIn’s location. “The Mystery of the Warehouses” is the second room we are attempting here. We were debriefed on the disappearance of a famous archaeologist and in this warehouse that we are entering, we needed to find five mythical rune stones which will give the owner true wisdom and eternal life. We may need these stones to find the missing archaeologist. Finding things is one of Watson’s (Brandon) strengths so I let him lead the way this time. The décor for this room definitely felt much more immersive than the previous. You automatically feel like you've entered a real warehouse with lots of crates in a dim-lit setting. The puzzles also felt more creative in here. As the story line develops, we found more and more “surprises”. There’s a good mixture of traditional key locks and technology in here. We were a little stumped at the end on one of the puzzles as it did sort of need a little outside history knowledge or some lucky guessing. Either way, we were able to figure it out and escape with two people with time to spare. For adventurers out there who’s looking for an Indiana Jones-type experience, give this a try! I did feel a little physical agility was utilized in the room. And for those of you who’s thinking of doing back to back rooms, I have to say we have actual records proving that as you warm up, your score does get better. We thought that we’ll be super tired after the second one but we’re super wired to start on our third game, “The Cocktail party of Vlad D. Hanson ”. Let the fun begin! - ClockedIn - "Vlad D. Hanson's Cocktail Party"
Yes Hint: It might be worth looking at it from a different angle. Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers Please refer to our reviews on “ The Murder Case at the Detective's Office ” and " The Mystery of the Secret Storage Room " for an intro of ClockedIn’s location. We had to leave the party room as our final room to attempt on. We are eager to try our last adventure at ClockedIn with their newest room - “The Cocktail party of Vlad D. Hanson”. We heard that if you wanted to, they even allow you to bring your own beverage to enjoy a real cocktail party experience in this room! This could be a great idea for your bachelor/bachelorette party (if you don’t go overboard). Since our brains are still wired from the two previous games, we didn’t want to waste any time. Our story began with the Count inviting us to his famous cocktail party and when we arrived we had to enter through the butler's kitchen(due to the current renovations on the place) before we can get to the ballroom. This is when we realized that we were locked in and about to become cocktails ourselves if we don’t escape in time! We had to get to work quickly. Upon entering the kitchen (this is also a clever idea by the owner as the original location had a kitchen, so he had to come up with a theme that worked with the space). We felt that this room was much more spacious than the other two. This room was definitely a lot less linear than the others as well. We were able to divide and conquer on a lot of different small puzzles. Although, we did feel that this room had more puzzles to solve than the other two but because we can solve them separately, it made things easier. From a décor aspect, the room definitely had an eerie feeling although we felt that it could be a little more “haunting” for a better immersive feel, but I think the owner would like to make this more family friendly. We also played a lot of creepy-themed escape rooms before (even with live actors) and I was a bit more relieved on the fact that it’s just a normal room so I can concentrate on solving puzzles versus getting scared. Brandon on the other hand, was hoping the count will come out and drink his blood. We finished this room the quickest out of all the three rooms we tried, and the owner said we set a new record as to how fast we completed it and usually this is the hardest room by their standard. We are strong believers on the fact that the brain needs to warm up. This is why we did better on our last room. Comment below if you have the same results when doing back to back rooms? If you haven’t tried it yet, book all three rooms at ClockedIn and see how you do! We would love to hear your feedback! We on the other hand, can’t wait to return one day to ClockedIn and hopefully they'll have more rooms for us to try! - Down The Rabbit Hole - "Korowai - A Professors Tale"
LOCATION: Copenhagen, Denmark Photo above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers Date Played : June 6, 2019 Price : $45-60/ pp (pending on the amt of ppl) Length of Time: 60 Minutes Total # of Players: Up To 6 ppl Difficulty Level : 7/10 Public/Private : Private Escaped? Yes Hint: Don't mess up the order of the books, please! Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers Our first escape room in Copenhagen, Denmark gave us a very nice surprising welcome. Escape Room København - Down The Rabbit Hole is an experience like no other. From the way they worded the game confirmation letter (informing you the mission to come), to the game master’s welcoming (playing the role of the professor’s assistant), to the lobby decor, and finally to the game itself. Right when we entered the “lobby”, the design felt like someone’s apartment (in this case, the professor’s). You are then led to a dining room where there's tea and coffee prepared for you (if you like to have the full experience, they also serve dinner). This game has a minimum booking number of 3 people so with 2 people it was a bit challenging. However, we made it out with a few seconds to spare! You can also now book with a team of 12 as they have two identical rooms that can fit 6 each. The “welcoming” took about 15 minutes and then the game master will debrief you as you enter the actual escape room. The storyline is that you are at Professor Julius' office and he’s late to meet you, so you start your detective work and finding out what he has been up to since he’s traveled to so many places in the world. During your discovery, secrets unveil and things are just not what they seem. There may be a little bit of a language issue because the whole time we thought the game master was in character and that our game started already. We took every word that she said literally as if it were hints of some sort. So, at one point we took the key from the bathroom thinking it would open something in the apartment, but that key was actually a real bathroom key. As we started our game in the actual escape room, there were definitely a few fun puzzles that we’ve never seen before. I would just like to say that one of the owners is definitely an animal lover. If he could get more animals to be incorporated into the game, he would! We like how there weren’t too many red herrings in the room. We were able to correlate the hints easily with the puzzles. During the game, we ran into a little hearing issue (maybe due to the language again) and was able to understand the hints. The hint system is also on an iPad and it’s quite fast when you need it. As we were getting close to the end, we ran into a little language barrier again with a translation. I think we got lucky with one of the solutions, but it would be helpful if they can have the translations in English. Other than that, we really enjoyed the “surprise” elements of the room and the design. It was very on point and stuck with the storyline. Currently, Escape Room København - Down The Rabbit Hole only has one game at their location - “Korowai – A Professors Tale”. We hope to see more innovative ideas from them in the future as they have a full team of creative people and you will not be disappointed if you try this game while visiting Copenhagen. One of the co-owners is an amazing artist (click HERE to check out his artwork). We shall definitely return to tackle another one of their immersive games in the future! *We regret to inform that this company has closed* Disclosure : We thank Down The Rabbit Hole for comping our tickets for this game. After a few days, you begin to realize that these robots are exemplifying scary human-like behavior. They also seem to have locked the team inside! Are you becoming the robot's experiment instead? Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE The set design had a cool high-tech futuristic look. One of the props that we had to connect for a particular puzzle made us feel like engineers . The solution trigger was quite satisfying. We wish the narrative part in the latter part of the game was utilized more throughout as those moments felt like we were actually interacting with a real AI. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK We were hoping to see an improvement in the cluing system from Escape Reality on this return trip but they were still using the iPad with the QR code. In some parts of the room where the lighting wasn't great, the iPad couldn't even pick up the QR image. Moreover, you'll have to wait for 10 minutes after receiving one clue. Since the clues were given in increments, you had to press them in the order (there was no way to skip to the one you actually needed). We had to call the GM in the room numerous times as we couldn't just stand around to wait for the time to pass and do nothing. This really took out the immersion and also created some frustration at times. In order to go from one room to another, you had to remember the password used. The room would lock again once you went through . We used an item to block the door but it would be great if this issue could be resolved. There was a good amount of red herrings in places that had reading material. Some props also had the potential of being red herring items due to the same colors on them and elsewhere in the room. We were hoping for some direction as to which clue belonged with which lock when we figure out the solution . Some clues also lacked direction as to what we were supposed to find. One of the Math puzzles lacked directions for what order to input the answers. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? There is definitely potential for this room to become a Sci-fi fan favorite based on the storyline and the decor. The puzzles and hint system are what hindered us from enjoying this experience to the fullest. The AI element of the game can be utilized more especially if it could be implemented into the hint system. We are eager to see what kind of new developments are happening at Escape Reality as we heard that they are allowing their GMs to design locational-specific games! There's plenty of seating to rest in the lobby area and we love their 3D looking backdrop poster that they use for victory poses. They currently have 6 different escape rooms at this location and a pop-up VR experience that was recently added! We only had time to try one of their rooms and of course it had to be... “The Asylum”. This is the first time we’ve used a hint system like this, but they are quite technologically advanced. Each puzzle has a QR code next to it so that if you do get stuck you can scan it and a clue will pop up on the iPad. But you cannot continuously use it as you do get locked out for a period of time. The "pros" are that there’s never a delay in getting hints from the game master. The "cons" are that you’ll be seeing these QR codes throughout the room which kind of takes a little bit away from the immersive atmosphere. Speaking of which, they did an amazing job with the room design! It was also quite fitting for us that the storyline of this Rolling Hills Asylum is an actual asylum with a haunting history in New York. As tourists from NY, we found a deeper connection with this haunted room. Right when we entered, I felt a chill down my spine and of course my first question was: “Are there any live actors? You should just tell me now as I’ve been tricked many times before". The game master said “No” with a smirk as sometimes they do go in and give the “victims” a little scare, but they stayed true to their word this time probably just to save themselves from my high-pitched screams. A lot of the props and décor stayed very true to what an asylum would have. The room was pretty linear in terms of puzzles although there were a few moments where we were able to split up and tackle different puzzles or find items. It was a very straightforward gameplay with no red herrings. We got out with two people and plenty of time to spare. I do want to remind the players that you do have to scan that final QR code outside the room in order to stop the time for your game as we forgot to do so and that probably added an extra minute to our clock (Hey! Every second counts!). Escape Reality Edinburgh is probably the largest escape room location we’ve been to in Edinburgh. With that said, you know they have a lot of different surprises in their rooms since they have the space to create them. They can easily host corporate and large party events. The other 5 escape room games currently at this location are “Jungala”, “Tortuga Pirates”, “Machina”, “Nosferatu” and “Alcatraz”. We can’t wait to return one day to try their other games as they all sound and look amazing! Right from the start we were handed a difficult challenge! Do not attempt to find the location yourself. If in doubt, they will pick you up in the lobby of the University building and bring you to the lobby area. They are located in Summerhall, which is Edinburgh’s old veterinarian school. Watch our YouTube video to see how many “tunnels” we had to go through to find their hidden spot. But once you find it, you will not be disappointed! Locked in Edinburgh is owned by two female owners who are enthusiast themselves and have played many escape rooms. We were amazed at what they have done with the space as they pretty much utilized there surroundings (since this building has hundred years of history) and created the storylines based on them. For instance, their control room had square spaces that were kennels for pets, but they are working stations for their game masters now. How clever! Our game master got in to character right away when she led us to the waiting area. We were agents being sent into a serial killer's laboratory to find evidence and the missing organs of the 5 new victims as we must save their lives. Even though there were no live actors involved, the sound, the visual, and the eerie atmosphere were already good enough to put me in a terrified condition. Right when we entered, we realized that there was a lot to do. This is their hardest room and for two people it was definitely challenging. We would suggest at least four people to tackle this room. There was a lot of unique puzzles and props that we haven’t seen before, and we loved the ideas and how it was incorporated into the story line. It felt very real what we were doing in this room versus just playing a game. We are always happy when there's misdirection in what we expect to be a "surprise”, is actually elsewhere. Since we’ve played a handful of games, if the room isn’t made well, it’s pretty easy to figure out where the “surprise” might be. One thing I did feel that could be improved is that typing in the clue and receiving an answer was slowing down the game a bit. I wonder if there's another possible way to receive the clues. We also refrained from asking for a clue in the beginning, which in this room we should have just kept moving especially with two people. We ended up not being able to escape in time, but we did get to see the game until the end. Despite being able to successfully escape, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves a lot for this room's design and originality. Currently there’s two other rooms at the location: "The Distillery" and "The Secret Lab". The designs for both are amazing as we took a sneak peak (which you’ll be able to see also in our YouTube video). We would love to return to play their other games and you should definitely check them out if you are ever in the area! Edinburgh is our final stop in Edinburgh, Scotland. They currently have two locations. The other location is in York and there are different escape games there than the ones at the Edinburgh location. Right when you enter the lobby, you are attracted to the photos of many different escape teams pinned to the wall. Don’t forget to put a pin down on their location map before you leave! Currently there are 2 games at the Edinburgh location: “Operation Spellbound” and “Operation Odyssey”. We are going to try an attempt to escape the “Operation Spellbound” room which has two identical rooms so if two teams wanted to compete you can book both at the same time. Right away our game master got into character and turned into this century old monk (who has a wonderful opera voice by the way) and lead us down to our cave where the legendary magician Morgana and Merlin have their eternal battle. We needed to go in there to save King Arthur’s land. Once we got into the room, we were transformed into another realm. The dragon was a nice touch to the storyline. There were some clever ways of using the props for different puzzles. We felt that the difficulty level may be a little bit on the easier side for escape room enthusiasts as we were able to get out with two people with plenty of time to spare. However, the goal of Can You Escape? Edinburgh was for the customers to have a fun and enjoyable time and not to entrap you with difficult puzzles which they definitely did! The game master periodically would give hints which also made it a bit too easy as normally we are used to asking for hints when we need them. We still loved that he was in character the whole time even when aiding us with our mission. Clues were very clear and easily understandable. Due to not having much space at this location, we felt that they may not be able to be as creative in making “surprises” within the room but would love to see what they come up with in the other rooms when they have the space. We took a sneak peek at their “Operation Odyssey” and we loved the set design and I’m sure there are “surprises” in there that is waiting to be discovered. We hope to return one day to try their other rooms but for now we hold proud to our King Arthur’s land’s savior title and journey onwards to our next mission! Photos are property of Can You Escape? Edinburgh is such a beautiful and mysterious looking city that everywhere I walked, I felt like I was part of the Harry Potter movie set. Because we had a full day of escape rooms, we didn't have much time to explore Edinburgh. But we will definitely be back to check out its history. Escape Edinburgh currently have 3 different locations. The location that we are visiting today - Morrison Street is their newest and we loved where it was situated. This location is in the basement of the "Noughts & Coffees" cafe store and you can find many types of board games there to play for an unlimited time for just £3.50 per person. It’s a great place to be after an escape game to chat with friends, get a cup of coffee and play more games! When we went down the stairs to enter Escape Edinburgh's lobby area, there wasn't much space or decor there except for two benches to sit and wait. After being debriefed by our friendly game master, we quickly entered their newest room - "Sub Zero". The storyline was that we needed to destroy the evidence left on a missing submarine and escape before it’s too late! As we entered the room, the decor immediately transported us into a submarine embarking on an underwater experience. However, we did mention later to the game master that one of the clues were rather hard to see and we wasted a good amount of time on that even though we knew what we're supposed to do. The puzzle designs and props that were used correlated with the storyline the entire time except for one particular puzzle that had some very confusing wordings on the clue. Overall, we enjoyed the latter part of the game a lot more as the puzzles were more creative and unique. With two people, we escaped with some time to spare. In addition, we also had the privilege to take a sneak peek inside the two other rooms that they currently offer: "221B Baker Street" and "The Magic Emporium". If you only have time for one game there, we suggest that you try "The Magic Emporium" room. The set design was quite intriguing as it looked like you've been transported to Diagon Alley in Harry Potter. We hope that we have a chance to return one day and escape with Escape Edinburgh again! - Sherlock Escape Rooms - "Sherlock: The Official Live Game"
LOCATION: London, United Kingdom Photo above is property of Sherlock Escape Rooms Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 📝 ETR DECODER 🔑 GAME : Sherlock: The Official Live Game 📅 DATE PLAYED : May 21, 2025 🎬 GENRE : Mystery, Detective 🧠 DIFFICULTY (Based on 2 ppl) : /10 👥 TOTAL # OF PLAYERS : 2-6 ppl 🕒 LENGTH OF TIME : 100 Mins. 💰 PRICE : £ 40.16/ pp (Ages 10+), £ 99/ family ☎️ BOOKING TYPE : Private 🔓 ESCAPED/ COMPLETED? : Yes 📖 THE STORY Under the leadership of Mycroft Holmes, "The Network", a covert division of British Intelligence, is actively seeking new recruits. To prove you have the potential to become an Agent, you'll embark on a standard training mission at headquarters. But remember, not everything is as it seems. This is your opportunity to step into the shoes of a detective alongside your team, exploring iconic sets from the show while collaborating to solve puzzles and decipher clues. You'll receive invaluable assistance from the show's cast, including Benedict Cumberbatch, Andrew Scott, Martin Freeman, Mark Gatiss, and more. Solve this brand-new Sherlock case before time runs out and prove you have what it takes to embody the great detective. Video above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers 🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE We really enjoy an entrance with a distinctive twist. Your first challenge is to find the way in. The actors truly excelled in their roles. The space this game occupies is surprisingly deceptive. We only realized its extent when we were led into a hidden debriefing room. It genuinely felt like stepping into an FBI or British Intelligence facility. The video components, featuring many familiar faces, struck the perfect balance between storyline information and guidance to the next challenge. The game commenced with simpler puzzles and progressively increased in difficulty, making it feel like a genuine test for a new recruit. The final room boasted an impressive set design where we saw the room and puzzles and thought, "Oh no, this is where we'll definitely fail." There was so much to tackle that we had to divide and conquer, yet some puzzles required us to collaborate. 🧩 MISSED THE MARK The wording in one of the deduction puzzles needs clarification. We were able to make several interpretations based on its current phrasing. We tackled a particularly challenging puzzle designed for two people and successfully completed it. For two participants, the difficulty setting should be adjusted to be slightly easier, as it consumes considerable time. We later learned that the GM can manually adjust the difficulty. Hearing some of the verbal clues for one puzzle was challenging. Adjusting the sound could improve clarity. 🏹 TAKE A SHOT? This room is your ideal opportunity to channel your inner Sherlock Holmes! You'll analyze clues, discover them, and ultimately solve them with precision. You'll progress through these challenges as if navigating stages in a test, which is precisely the intention of this experience. We encountered a number of puzzles we've seen in other escape rooms, but considering this room has been around since 2018, it's likely that many other rooms drew inspiration from it. Now, there's even a 2.0 version of this game! We are eager to experience it when we visit London next time! Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers ℹ️ ADDITIONAL INFO If you are a group of 2 players you will have the choice to play in a "Shared Experience" with other small groups and increase your chances of winning or to upgrade to a "Small Group Private Experience". Unfortunately, the game cannot be played by only one person.
