  • Enchambered - "Alone Together 3: Together at Heart"

Photo above is property of Enchambered Company: Enchambered Game: Alone Together 3: Together at Heart Country: USA πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Language: English Type of Game: Online Puzzle Games πŸ’» Genre: Sci Fi Date Played: 2/8/2021 Difficulty (based on 2 players): 6.5/10 Size of Team: 2 Players Time: Unlimited (Approx. 90 minutes) Price: From $10.00 (Pay what you want) πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…΄ πŸ†‚πŸ†ƒπŸ…ΎπŸ†πŸ†ˆ The heart of the robot seems to be broken. Can you work together to repair it in time? After all, it is Valentine's Day! πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…΄ πŸ…ΆπŸ…°πŸ…ΌπŸ…΄ πŸ…ΏπŸ…»πŸ…°πŸ†ˆ Together at Heart plays similarly to the two other games (Alone Together & Together Apart) had designed in the past. Once you purchase the game, you'll receive a code. One you activate the code, you'll only have 24 hours to finish the game. This is a 2 player game. One player will select the role of "The Tinkerer" and the other will be "The Controller". Being that I'm a control freak, naturally I chose "The Controller". Each player will be taken to a game platform that will have different game components on their computer screen. You'll have to communicate what you see to each other and work together to solve the puzzles. Make sure to be really careful and don't hit the back button on your browser by mistake. This will take you out of the synced game and because there are elements in the game that needs the two players to start the game together, both players will have to replay the game if this happens. We learned it the hard way. If you've played their two previous games, there's a lot new puzzle concepts added to this game. One that really impressed us is how the "matter transfer device" worked. It's so futuristic. I was able to send game pieces over to Brandon and he would receive it in seconds to use as part of his game. Why can't they implement this in food delivery world already? Send me some sushi! Photos above are property of Enchambered πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…΄ πŸ…ΏπŸ†„πŸ†‰πŸ†‰πŸ…»πŸ…΄πŸ†‚ The interface was really easy to use. I love the graphics and sound elements. They paired quite nicely with the mechanical theme. Everything was to be used and you'll never know what you'll unmask the next second. We got stuck at two points during the game mainly because we couldn't discover where they've embedded the secret information. I would suggest to make sure to click through everything thoroughly and be very observant. I love how the puzzles that we have to discover were not out in the open. Everything felt like you need to dig deeper. Usually I'll be rushing to clues if we got stuck for too long during a game but with this game I didn't mind struggling a bit as when we finally figure out the clues, it's quite satisfying. If you do need a nudge or even the solution, there's a very clear step to step guide on their website. Photos above are property of Enchambered πŸ…²πŸ…»πŸ…ΎπŸ†‚πŸ…ΈπŸ…½πŸ…Ά πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…ΎπŸ†„πŸ…ΆπŸ…·πŸ†ƒπŸ†‚ We loved everything about this game. The storyline was a great way to connect the puzzles. It was clear to us that we needed to find the robot's heart and mend it together to make it function again. The graphics were beautifully done. Each time when we clicked on a mechanism, the sounds would clearly indicate if something was solved or we should be looking for a change in the game. It was a very touching moment when we pieced the two parts of the heart together. This is a great game to play on Valentine's Day. Test how well you are able to communicate with each other and let's see if you're really "connected" at heart! • Enchambered - "Apart in Time: A Whispering Halls Adventure"

Photo above is property of Enchambered Company: Enchambered Game: Apart in Time: A Whispering Halls Adventure Country: USA πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Language: English Type of Game: Digital Escape Game πŸ’» Genre: Paranormal, Spooky Date Played: April 22, 2022 Difficulty (based on 2 players): 7/10 Size of Team: 2 Players Time: Unlimited (Approx. 90 minutes) Price: From $10.00 (Pay what you want) πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…΄ πŸ†‚πŸ†ƒπŸ…ΎπŸ†πŸ†ˆ Ambrose Hall, a brilliant clockmaker will do whatever it takes to end a curse that has bestowed upon his daughter Abigail. In order to do so, he built a puzzle box specifically designed for her. Inside is a fail-safe that will stop the clock that has unleashed this curse and return the time that was stolen from her. In order for Abigail to succeed, Ambrose has sent the other part of the puzzle box to someone outside the house in order to prevent the dark influences from inside obtaining it. Together, Abigail and whomever finds the other box will have to figure out how to stop the clock in "Apart in Time: A Whispering Halls Adventure"!! Photos above are property of Enchambered "Apart in Time: A Whispering Halls Adventure" is based on Enchambered's escape room - "The Whispering Halls" in which the mansion that Ambrose built for his wife and young daughter was plagued by sickness and death after it's completion in 1890. πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…΄ πŸ…ΆπŸ…°πŸ…ΌπŸ…΄ πŸ…ΏπŸ…»πŸ…°πŸ†ˆ Much like the other multiplayer virtual escape rooms offered by Enchambered, "Apart in Time: A Whispering Halls Adventure" is a two-player game that's played together online. These games were designed to build teamwork and communication by presenting both players with different interactive screens that they need to work together to solve. In this multiplayer spooky adventure, one player is playing the role of Abigail Hall who's trapped in time inside her cursed house while the other player's role is helping her stop the clock that's responsible. First, you will need to purchase a license key in which you will share with the other player and start the game here. Next, set up a phone call or video chat. Whichever you prefer just as long as you both can communicate with each other. Then you have have the option to decide who will be player 1 and who will be player 2. Next, you will each have a different screen that will allow you to interact with to relay information over to the other player. I highly recommend that you describe exactly what you're seeing as detailed as possible. In order to successfully finish the game, both players need to see the "You escaped" screen (if you escape, make sure you still communicate with the other player so they can finish also). πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…΄ πŸ…ΏπŸ†„πŸ†‰πŸ†‰πŸ…»πŸ…΄πŸ†‚ I've always enjoyed the puzzles from Enchambered because they're cleverly designed to encourage communication between players. There are always things to examine and be aware of when searching, so letting your team-mate know exactly what you find is key. You never know, it could be information that they need to solve something. Similar to the previous games, each player has their own unique screen which requires searching and investigating. It's crazy how they manage to present clues right in front of you without even being noticed. Photos above are property of Enchambered πŸ…²πŸ…»πŸ…ΎπŸ†‚πŸ…ΈπŸ…½πŸ…Ά πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…ΎπŸ†„πŸ…ΆπŸ…·πŸ†ƒπŸ†‚ We have always been fans of the games from Enchambered. We still remember our first experience playing "Alone Together" and "Alone Together 2: Together Apart" back in 2020. It was one of the first games that we played that where we each had something completely different on our screen. I particularly enjoyed "Apart in Time" because of the added spookiness to it. I actually felt like these boxes contained something supernatural inside and we were dealing with spectral activity. The story definitely spooked me a few times throughout the game. Word of advise, if you are a scaredy-cat like me, don't play this in the dark. I had to even turn off the sound a few times because I felt like someone was standing behind me. We went through the first set of puzzles fairly quickly so we thought this was going to be a pretty quick and easy game. We were wrong. The puzzles gradually got harder and we finished the game just under 60 minutes. Throughout the game, there seemed to be a magic essence surrounding the core object of the game: the mysterious suitcase. We really wanted to find out what was in it. We felt like the ending could've been "stronger" since we've already anticipated the "horror". Since there were a few locations we couldn't explore in the game, we anticipate there will be a sequel and we can't wait to play it! Recommend 1-4 players. Time: No time limit. We used around 1 hour. Price: €15.00 (Receive €10.00 discount for their physical escape game after) Video above is property of Crime Runners This digital game was the closest we felt to an onsite escape room so far. The graphics were beautiful with details of tree twigs to cracks on walls. The storytelling and sound system felt like we were watching a mystery movie the entire time. Our most enjoyable moments were the creepy walks in the forest and the creaking sounds of the old stairs in the manor. Puzzles were not as difficult but enjoyable in the sense that they mimic what we would actually do in a physical escape room. The hint system was not too revealing although if you were to get stuck, you can easily follow the clue file they sent along with the game. We love that the game had a strong ending as we haven't seen too many digital games that were able to incorporate that. We played on the same computer so we are not sure how multiplayer would work but we love to hear your feedback on the game as well if you've played it. Well Crime Runners, you've done it. We are fully invested now and can't wait for Part 2! (If you do decide to try this game, please remember to let them know that you heard it from"ESCAPETHEROOMers"!) Photo above is property of Crime Runners Company: Crime Runners Game: Crime Stories Part 2: Beneath Vienna Country: Austria πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ή Language: English/ German Type of Game: Digital Escape Room (Point & Click) πŸ’» Genre: Adventure Date Played: January 12, 2022 Difficulty (based on 4 players): 7/10 Size of Team: Multiplayer game (can use same code). Recommend 1-4 players. Time: Unlimited (Suggested 60-90 Mins.) Price: €19.90 (Receive €10.00 discount for their physical escape game after) πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…΄ πŸ†‚πŸ†ƒπŸ…ΎπŸ†πŸ†ˆ The second chapter in the Dickson storyline, you find yourself where you left off. Venturing further into your father’s house looking for the stash of gold, a staircase leading down, down into the deep tunnels of Vienna. Who would have thought that there were so many secrets hidden within this mansion? With a bit of bravery and determination you progress into the inky blackness of the tunnels underneath the titular city. Will you finally find your father's lost gold? Video above is property of Crime Runners πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…΄ πŸ…ΆπŸ…°πŸ…ΌπŸ…΄ πŸ…ΏπŸ…»πŸ…°πŸ†ˆ This is a self made platform from Crime Stories. The game play is all done via point and click interfaces. Using only your mouse and your wits, it is up to you to figure out the secrets in the tunnels and make your way out. Before the start of the game, Beneath Vienna will give an in depth tutorial on the interface and how moving and interacting with objects work. If you have played any similar video game, movement should come naturally. There are sound cues when you click on each interact-able item and it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you wait for the sound cue to finish if playing with more than one person. One thing we wish it had were jump points on the tunnel map as there were a good amount of times that we had to go back and forth from different locations and it took awhile to navigate. This game can be played solo or with a team of up to four people. Our ESCAPETHEROOMers team started this adventure with four players but found that either due to the amount of clicking or other technical difficulties, some of the puzzles, when solved correctly, did not trigger the solution animation. Crime Stories implemented a workaround by choosing the β€œsolve” button on the hint screen to bypass the puzzle. In order to give this game a fair shake, we all played the game as individual players and all had a significantly better experience. If you are playing with a group of people, we suggest a designated "navigator" but the rest of the teammates will be more like spectators rather than active participants. Photos above are property of Crime Runners πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…΄ πŸ…ΏπŸ†„πŸ†‰πŸ†‰πŸ…»πŸ…΄πŸ†‚ The puzzles in this game are a great mix between hunt and find and proper logic puzzles. Exactly what you would expect in a point and click adventure. Each puzzle solved was well described and thought out, we felt no need to use a hint during the game. Make sure you have the sound on as some of the puzzles are audio based and would be impossible to solve without it. There was a lot of fun to be had while solving. The game had a great mixture between easy, difficult, and β€œlong” puzzles kept variety and engagement during the game. Photos above are property of Crime Runners πŸ…²πŸ…»πŸ…ΎπŸ†‚πŸ…ΈπŸ…½πŸ…Ά πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…ΎπŸ†„πŸ…ΆπŸ…·πŸ†ƒπŸ†‚ Beneath Vienna is not a game where you would have to play the first chapter to get an enjoyable experience (though it will help with the storyline). The graphics and visuals during the game are very well put together and it is understandable what room is what. The movement between the rooms can be slow as one has to wait for the audio cue to finish. Completing the four remaining chapters in this game all adds to the story and builds upon previous knowledge. Make sure when playing this game you have a pen and paper available. There is a lot of information that you might want to write down and it will make solving all puzzles a lot easier. This is a very well put together game (you can tell when an entire 10 month is put in to the production) that players will be quite happy to experience. Playing as a solo player, or making sure only one player has controls is my favorite way to experience this story and you won’t regret playing this game! Although there are no more cliffhangers or digital game continuation left after this game, you might want to visit Crime Runners if you are ever in Vienna as they do have an in-person escape room that will give you the ultimate conclusion to this story! (If you do decide to try this game, please remember to let them know that you heard it from"ESCAPETHEROOMers"!) Disclosure: We thank Crime Runners for providing us with a sample of the game. (Recommended 1-4 players) Time: Unlimited Price: Free We've always been a fan of Expedition Escape's physical rooms so we had to give their digital escape game a try. It took us about 12 minutes or so to complete the puzzles. This was a point and click game with self serviced hints. We really enjoyed the timer feature as we haven't seen that being used in a lot of the digital escape games. We know that you most of the digital games have no time limit but being an enthusiasts recording your victory time is a must! Even though this was a free game, they were thoughtful on providing a music playlist to add to the ambiance of the game. It should not be a surprise that the owners are both great puzzle creators as they are escape room enthusiasts themselves that have played hundreds of rooms. All of the puzzles were logical and well connected for that final meta-puzzle. We can't wait to see what magic they will stir up in their new game "Becoming Houdini". *** We regret to inform this game is no longer available for purchase but check out other in-person escape rooms on their website*** #AtHomeGames #EscapeRooms #ExpeditionEscape #BankHeist #DigitalEscapeGame #ESCAPETHEROOMers

  • Expedition Escape! - "Houdini's Last Mystery"

Photos provided by Expedition Escape! Company: Expedition Escape! Game: Houdini's Last Mystery Country: USA πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Language: English Type of Game: Digital Escape Game πŸ’» Genre: Mystery Date Played: 6/6/20 Difficulty (based on 2 players): 6/10 Size of Team: 1-6 Players Time: Approximately 1-2 Hours (Based on experience) Price: $14.00 Expedition Escape! has always been one of our favorite physical escape room locations. Their "Lucky Dice Diner" was rated one of our Top Rated Rooms in 2019. The owners are both escape room enthusiasts and have played hundreds of escape rooms. It really shows in their products when they put their passion into it. Magic themed rooms has always been one of my favorites, so we're very excited to check out "Houdini's Last Mystery". When you purchase the game, there are a few steps to go through. Since this game was produced in collaboration with another escape room writer, in some areas there will be restrictions due to licensing. You'll have to wait until you've been vetted before the game will be emailed to you. Also there are two different version of this game that you can chose from. One is with Ouija board and tarot cards and the other version will replace these items with symbols and shapes. The puzzles are essentially the same but this is provided in case you're uncomfortable with these items. The game was staged in the Houdini Museum. This is a point and click type of game. We liked how the game only allowed access to items that we had to use with a certain puzzle. Once we solved the puzzle and unlocked the item, a new area would open up for exploration. This made correlation of puzzles and clues quite easy to detect. The puzzles were not as difficult for enthusiasts and had a nice linear flow. But if you do get stuck, there was a easy to use self guided hint system throughout the game. There were a lot of interesting facts about Houdini that were embedded in the game and puzzles. We learned a lot of history about him that we're previously unaware of. For the time being, we enjoyed virtually opening the locks at the Houdini Museum but can't wait to return to their physical location and make some real magic there! If you want to try out their product and see how digital games work, they do have free game that you are able to test out: Bank Heist *** We regret to inform this game is no longer available for purchase but check out other in-person escape rooms on their website*** Disclosure: We thank Expedition Escape! for providing us with a sample of the game. • YouEscape - "#19: Analog Horror"

Photo above is property of YouEscape Company: YouEscape Game: #19: Analog Horror Country: Greece πŸ‡¬πŸ‡· Language: English/ Greek Type of Game: Live-Hosted Game πŸ’» Genre: Horror Date Played: November 19, 2022 Difficulty (based on 3 players): 7/10 Size of Team: Up to 10 Players Time: 65 Minutes Price: $50.00/ Game or join Patreon for more options πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…΄ πŸ†‚πŸ†ƒπŸ…ΎπŸ†πŸ†ˆ In YouEscape’s first horror game of their series, your team is in for a story filled with twists and turns trying to return to reality as you know it. The team has no-clipped into a new reality; the strange and unusual is the norm. No-clipping is a term used in video games where there is a bug in the system and your character is able to roam around the map without any boundaries. Following this logic, Analog Horror creates the uncanniness of perceived experiences. Will your team make it back to your own reality or learn to accept this new normal. Photo above is property of YouEscape πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…΄ πŸ…ΆπŸ…°πŸ…ΌπŸ…΄ πŸ…ΏπŸ…»πŸ…°πŸ†ˆ "#19 Analog Horror" is played with a live host over Zoom and is extremely simple to understand the controls. The game master will lead you through and introduce the team to the story. There is a table littered with items that will be useful to the game that are shown as the game starts. What use are these items to your journey is up to you to find out. All players will have access to a google drive that has files that the game master will let you know when to open. Some files contain pictures while others include websites and clue information. Simply solve the puzzles that are presented to you and discuss out loud as much as you can; for the game master will give hints and help guide you along in your journey of the uncanny. It is highly recommended that you play this game on a computer with easy access to the internet and tabs on your browser. There are aspects during this game that are meant to jump scare, YouEscape warns everyone when they are coming up to make sure this experience is best enjoyed by all players and their own comfort levels. Photos above are property of YouEscape πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…΄ πŸ…ΏπŸ†„πŸ†‰πŸ†‰πŸ…»πŸ…΄πŸ†‚ The puzzles in this game all are related to the theme... uncanny. It is the type of horror that when you look at an object, your mind knows that something isn’t quite right even though you have seen this object hundreds of times before. Each chapter builds upon this concept and there will be solutions relating to perceived reality and unique imagery. The actual solutions of puzzles vary in both difficulty and complexity leading to some rather unique solutions and locations along the way. As most of this game is played over the internet, some websites will exist that players have never seen before but contain powerful tools to solve each puzzle. The logic flow between each enigma was very well thought out and understanding how the answer is derived makes sense for the puzzling enthusiast. πŸ…²πŸ…»πŸ…ΎπŸ†‚πŸ…ΈπŸ…½πŸ…Ά πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…ΎπŸ†„πŸ…ΆπŸ…·πŸ†ƒπŸ†‚ "#19 Analog Horror" is a unique game that uses the internet to its fullest extent in order to properly convey an eerie story that will be enjoyed by all players. Whether it be searching for a face that people around the world have seen, recreating images that seem to come from nothing but a description, or listening into conversations that you can’t seem to remember having, each and every step in the game adds to the world that YouEscape created. Add onto that well timed sound cues and videos to enhance the game and you have an escape room that knows how to properly use its medium. And now, all of you are alerted of the presence of vampires amongst you in your little hamlet. However, not all is lost! There’s a prophet and cleric amongst you, one who can see the truth behind each person and one who can protect another villager from the vampires. Solving the puzzles in front of you, keeping in mind that the group will vote out one villager each night, will you be able to find the truth behind each villager before it’s too late? Photos above are property of YouEscape πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…΄ πŸ…ΆπŸ…°πŸ…ΌπŸ…΄ πŸ…ΏπŸ…»πŸ…°πŸ†ˆ YouEscape games work as if you were solving a series of puzzles onsite itself, except that it was through a virtual call. Headed by our Game Master - Nick, the game proceeded as if we were on location, with Nick reading out the rules, the lore, and how the gameplay was going to proceed. All materials for the game are accessible via Google Drive, where the relevant links are provided via the virtual meeting room. As the game starts, all players are able to go through online materials, weave through links, discuss solutions on the spot, and watch as the timer ticks down. Through the game, the Game Master also provides hints and nudges if the player team begins to venture off course a little much (which we almost did) or are stuck at a decision for a little too long (which we definitely were). All in all, the Game Master is there as needed. Just note that each booking slot for these games are set according to UTC, Greenwich Meridian Time, so do keep that in mind while booking your games. πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…΄ πŸ…ΏπŸ†„πŸ†‰πŸ†‰πŸ…»πŸ…΄πŸ†‚ All the puzzles here did not need external knowledge for them to be solved, which was a good thing considering how easy it was for us to slide down the rabbit hole of some of the provided links. Each stage of the game comes in a single folder, and results in receiving a password that will unlock the next. Players who have a heightened sense of curiosity and discovery might want to stay prudent in their gameplay, as some of the locations and materials given can result in players diving down a slippery slope of red herrings. In this case, thank goodness we had Nick for the first couple of times that we tripped up. On that note, it might also help to go through all the materials you have in each puzzle folder as a whole and as a team before deciding your next step - this would help you remember and focus on what you need to do for that particular puzzle stage. Photos above are property of YouEscape πŸ…²πŸ…»πŸ…ΎπŸ†‚πŸ…ΈπŸ…½πŸ…Ά πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…ΎπŸ†„πŸ…ΆπŸ…·πŸ†ƒπŸ†‚ There’s always an advantage of having a Game Master onsite whenever you are playing a Real Escape Game - Nick’s hints and nudges, especially when we were falling too far off the edge. For players who would like a hands-off approach, however, may also choose to communicate this preference, considering how open communication was throughout our gameplay. If you’re a team who loves the experience of playing games like Mafia, Ultimate Werewolf or Vampire, Murder Mystery #3 is going to be right up your alley. This is especially in the final stage, when the team’s (note, the team’s) win condition is made clear from the start of the game and as you go along with gameplay. Good luck, players. As the detective, you are tasked with tracking the movements of the suspects throughout the evening to identify which suspect was likely in the pool room while also identifying the motive of the killer. You have 90 minutes to pour over the suspects’ statements and solve the crime but there is a catch, not all the suspects are telling the truth and you need to figure out who’s lying to get the full picture. Let’s get started! Photos above are property of YouEscape πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…΄ πŸ…ΆπŸ…°πŸ…ΌπŸ…΄ πŸ…ΏπŸ…»πŸ…°πŸ†ˆ The structure of YouEscape changes each time, but there are some formalities that remain the same. You start on a Zoom meeting with your GM where they will provide you with a google drive file and an introduction to the task. There is also a table fixed on the Zoom screen that contains locks and components you will need to open over the course of your journey. The GM explains that you need to review all five suspects' statements and you must figure out which suspect went to which room in order of departure from the lounge. They also explain that some of the suspects may be providing misleading testimony, either on purpose or by accident. You have three levels of puzzling to identify and solve to gain access to three corrected clues that will aid your endeavour. In addition, you have a bonus mission to solve the motive of the crime if you so desire. The suspects’ statements are all contained in a google folder separate from the puzzle levels with you gaining access to each new folder as our solve down the line. Once you solve a puzzle, you can go back to the statements to see what clue has been corrected to help develop your timeline. As you reach the end of your game your choice will dictate if you get the good ending or bad ending. As always, these games largely revolve around discussion amongst your team to solve things. The GM is there to manoeuvre items at your request or provide hints (up to three) when you ask. Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…΄ πŸ…ΏπŸ†„πŸ†‰πŸ†‰πŸ…»πŸ…΄πŸ†‚ The puzzle challenge in this game falls within two layers. The first being solving the puzzles contained within each numbered folder. These consist of multi-level puzzles that provide you with clues or pieces of information that will fold into the next puzzle. As such, I recommend navigating each puzzle file in chronological order to make for a smoother experience. Our group always finds communicating aloud is essential for these puzzles because they are quite tricky from pattern identification, code breaking, maths, spatial orientation, hidden messages, and physical manipulation. YouEscape games are definitely fit for more experienced players as these styles of puzzles are not obvious and take some time. This game was a little quicker than our last murder mystery one - "#6: A Murder Mystery", with around 16 minutes to spare, but still tricky! You often end up solving the first layer of the puzzle but then become stuck with how to use this newfound discovery to move forward. The second layer of puzzling is the deduction-based murder mystery. You have a series of statements to review and must organize each suspect in order of who left the lounge first and what room they entered. You need to solve the first layer of puzzling in order to correct or address the conflicting statement. I highly recommend paper and pencil to create a visual as you try to organize the suspects as it can become a little tricky. This part is a traditional logic puzzle where the specific times are not as important as much as the order is. Our group really enjoyed the discussion around the logic puzzle as it really gave us a chance to work all together on a core puzzle, as we often divide and conquer in escape rooms. All in all, the puzzles were challenging in a good way and the deduction puzzle was a smart way to bring players back together to solve the end as a unit. πŸ…²πŸ…»πŸ…ΎπŸ†‚πŸ…ΈπŸ…½πŸ…Ά πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…ΎπŸ†„πŸ…ΆπŸ…·πŸ†ƒπŸ†‚ "#12: A Murder Mystery 2" provided another engaging and challenging game to the YouEscape repertoire that keeps players on their toes while also unifying them. I always find that YouEscape is able to create a series of unique complex puzzles each time and I never feel I am playing the same game twice. For the experienced puzzler who enjoys layered puzzling with a splash of deduction, this is another affordable and excellent option. If you want a murder mystery will a little more engagement with characters then check out our review of YouEscape's "#6: A Murder Mystery"! • YouEscape - "#6: A Murder Mystery"

Photo above is property of YouEscape Company: YouEscape Game: #6: A Murder Mystery Country: Greece πŸ‡¬πŸ‡· Language: English/ Greek Type of Game: Live-Hosted Game πŸ’» Genre: Murder Mystery, Detective Date Played: May 15, 2022 Difficulty (based on 6 players): 7/10 Size of Team: Up to 10 Players Time: 90 Minutes Price: $50.00/ Game or join Patreon for more options πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…΄ πŸ†‚πŸ†ƒπŸ…ΎπŸ†πŸ†ˆ As a defense lawyer you have your work cut out for you! Your client has been accused of murdering her husband and you have yet to prove her innocence… with the trial starting in NINETY minutes! Time to start digging with the case again to see if you can crack this tricky case and save a woman from prison! Photos above are property of YouEscape πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…΄ πŸ…ΆπŸ…°πŸ…ΌπŸ…΄ πŸ…ΏπŸ…»πŸ…°πŸ†ˆ The structure of this YouEscape changes a little bit in comparison to the previous games I have played. You start on a Zoom meeting with your GM where they will provide you with a google drive file and an introduction to the task. There is also a table fixed on the Zoom screen that contains locks and components you will need to open over the course of your journey. Your GM explains as you solve your puzzles that you will gain access to testimonies of potential suspects BUT you will only be able to view three of the four testimonies by the end of the game. Certain images in the google drive will also have an eye icon in the top corner indicating not only will it help solve the puzzle, but it will help you crack the case as well. Once you solve a puzzle, you will tell your guide whose testimony you would like to read before moving onto the second, third, and fourth folder. As you reach the end of your game, your choices will dictate if you get the good ending or bad ending. As always, these games largely revolve around discussion amongst your members to solve things. The GM is there to maneuver items at your request or provide hints (up to three) when you ask. Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…΄ πŸ…ΏπŸ†„πŸ†‰πŸ†‰πŸ…»πŸ…΄πŸ†‚ The puzzle challenges has really ramped up in this game! Your tasks often require you to solve multi-level puzzles that provide you with pieces that will work into the next puzzle. Communication between your team is essential to talk out some of these problems. In addition, the puzzles require you to explore links that push you to Tetris, identify patterns, and decrypt hidden messages. We found it was best going in order in the google drive but members were able to divide and conquer before coming back together. I would say this game is definitely tailored to more experienced players, mainly because of the layering of materials. You may have solved a puzzle but you need to now solve another puzzle to figure out how that solution can be applied to the fixed image on the Zoom - take notes of the types of locks and clues to help guide yourself. This particular game also boasts a murder mystery style and I will say the final puzzle really hits the spot for those who enjoy deduction, while also rewarding you after gathering all the material. In the end, the game provided a good mix of challenging puzzles and a great deduction game at the end that I feel catered to a variety of puzzlers. πŸ…²πŸ…»πŸ…ΎπŸ†‚πŸ…ΈπŸ…½πŸ…Ά πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…ΎπŸ†„πŸ…ΆπŸ…·πŸ†ƒπŸ†‚ "#6: Murder Mystery" provided a nice change up from my other experiences with YouEscape games with its clue-gathering puzzles and satisfying finale. YouEscape really created complex, yet affordable puzzles that feed into puzzlers looking for a true challenge while also finding new ways to shake things up. If you are an experienced puzzler who enjoys murder mysteries, then this is an excellent game! I will note the more the merrier for playing as our group of four solved it with just over a minute left! Plan a night in, get yourself lots of snacks, and be ready to chat with friends to maximize the fun! Your ability to decode languages is unmatched but you’ve now come across what may be your greatest foe contained inside an unfamiliar pyramid. This architectural wonder is covered with strange symbols that are unknown to the world. Will you unravel this mysterious language or will this pyramid’s secrets remain hidden forever? Photos above are property of YouEscape πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…΄ πŸ…ΆπŸ…°πŸ…ΌπŸ…΄ πŸ…ΏπŸ…»πŸ…°πŸ†ˆ The structure of this YouEscape follows the same style as the others. You start on a Zoom meeting with your GM where they will provide you with a google drive file and an introduction to the task. There is also a table fixed on the Zoom screen that contains locks and components you will need to open over the course of your journey. This game is a little different in that there are no words after a brief introduction. This game is entirely solved using images, symbols, and numbers that you must find meaning in. Their meaning will translate into a pattern or a series of numbers that will allow you to move further into the pyramid. You will not need anything but what is provided with the Google Drive. Once you solve a box you will be directed to open the next google file needed to move forward. As you reach the end of your game your choices will dictate if you get the good ending or bad ending. This game largely revolves around discussion amongst your members to solve things. The GM is there to maneuver items at your request or provide hints (up to three) when you ask. Photos above are property of ESCAPETHEROOMers πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…΄ πŸ…ΏπŸ†„πŸ†‰πŸ†‰πŸ…»πŸ…΄πŸ†‚ As I mentioned before, the puzzles themselves are entirely without any writing. Rather, you are given symbols with colours and arrows that help guide you. Through the links and photos you move through translating the steps, finding words and numbers, and applying them to the logic puzzles. I found the last puzzle to be my favourite as it unfolded itself quite beautifully without using a single word. I recommend this game for team plays as we found discussion was key for this game because of the lack of words. Through talking aloud about what we see and notice we built a better picture. Overall I really enjoyed the set up and execution of this game. It really captured the essence of puzzling by taking away the exposition we sometimes get in a puzzle to allow players to unpack things for themselves. Photo above is property of YouEscape πŸ…²πŸ…»πŸ…ΎπŸ†‚πŸ…ΈπŸ…½πŸ…Ά πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…ΎπŸ†„πŸ…ΆπŸ…·πŸ†ƒπŸ†‚ "#17: Mutus Liber" is another excellent YouEscape game with its unique focus and excellent collaborative puzzles. This isn’t a game I would recommend for new puzzlers but for a team of regular puzzlers this will do an excellent job to test your chops and let you have fun digging into a puzzle together. Our team used no hints, but we did have to knuckle down on the second task and we loved it. • YouEscape - "#16: A Monochromatic Adventure"

Photo above is property of YouEscape Company: YouEscape Game: #16: A Monochromatic Adventure Country: Greece πŸ‡¬πŸ‡· Language: English/ Greek Type of Game: Live-Hosted Game πŸ’» Genre: Adventure Date Played: January 15, 2022 Difficulty (based on 6 players): 5/10 Size of Team: Up to 10 Players Time: 60 Minutes Price: $50.00/ Game or join Patreon for more options πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…΄ πŸ†‚πŸ†ƒπŸ…ΎπŸ†πŸ†ˆ Your land is suffering a horrible drought and the only thing that can help is a sacrifice to the Sun God. You have been chosen randomly to be sacrifice to this God and are told this is a high honour. It is said through your sacrifice the Sun God will provide water from the skies. Yet, as you stand in this temple you question this duty being thrust upon you. You don’t want to die by dehydration to pay homage to this god and you have decided you must escape! Photo above is property of YouEscape πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…΄ πŸ…ΆπŸ…°πŸ…ΌπŸ…΄ πŸ…ΏπŸ…»πŸ…°πŸ†ˆ Much like other YouEscape games, you begin your game by logging into a Zoom call with your Game Master. The game will begin with a camera view on a table with a few items and locks. Nick, our game master, will provided instructions for the game and also provide access to a google Drive link that contains numbered files. As you progress through the game more files will become available (either through seeing a message or from being told by the GM), each image within the folders containing key information for puzzles. For these puzzles, you are often trying to figure out a way to make it from one room to another with obstacles in the way that bar traditional entry. As you β€œexplore” the room through the file images, you are given bolded words that are key to watch out for and note. Using these β€œitems” you can tell the GM what you want to do with them and he will explain what happens and whether or not it succeeded in moving you on. When you come across a picture of one of the items on the table you are able to prompt the GM to manipulate it for the puzzle. If you require any hints you can simply ask the GM. Photo above is property of ESCAPETHEROOMers πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…΄ πŸ…ΏπŸ†„πŸ†‰πŸ†‰πŸ…»πŸ…΄πŸ†‚ The puzzles in this YouEscape game focus predominantly on logic puzzles. You are faced with a situation where you must figure your way out of a maze-like structure. Each puzzle focuses on unlocking a door or box and they are often multistep puzzles that require you to explore different areas of the room via the files in the google drive. The information is all available in text but the challenge to unpack the clues presented as they aren’t always clear. I recommend always prompting the GM to try the different ideas even if you’re not 100% as our group often got so caught up on developing theories, we didn’t consider testing them out to double check. In fact, some of our best solving came with just trying our first idea even though we were juggling with three other problems. I will note this game can start off overwhelming as you start out with access to eight files that represent all parts of the room you are in. I recommend treating these files as surveying the room. As you look them over, identify the goal and see what might help you. πŸ…²πŸ…»πŸ…ΎπŸ†‚πŸ…ΈπŸ…½πŸ…Ά πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…ΎπŸ†„πŸ…ΆπŸ…·πŸ†ƒπŸ†‚ YouEscape’s "A Monochromatic Adventure" provided an engaging escape room scenario that really made you think outside of the box. The game can start out quite overwhelming but once you make it through the first room it has some really creative puzzle solutions and the mix of text based puzzling and exploratory puzzle solution helped this game stand out. I recommend this game for people that enjoy video game style puzzles and groups who enjoy having the freedom to try different solutions. You will either have to cancel your trip or travel solo...You've opted for the latter. πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…΄ πŸ…ΆπŸ…°πŸ…ΌπŸ…΄ πŸ…ΏπŸ…»πŸ…°πŸ†ˆ This was the second YouEscape game I have played and the gameplay was the same. Upon logging into a Zoom call, you will be greeted by your Game Master. The camera view will be of a close up table shot, with several items and padlocks. The GM will then explain what you need to do to complete the game (for example how many locks there are, how many digits required etc...). This allows players to be very clear on what their objective is. To start the game, the GM will provide a google Drive link that contains pictures and documents that eventually help you unlock the locks on the table. The game will also bring you to various types of websites. Anything on the web is up for play, and the game will always provide the website for you, so you do not need to google and wonder if you are at the correct place. Once you think you have the code, just let your game master know and he will try it out for you. Once inside, you'll be provided with more items to help you with the next puzzle until the final victory. πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…΄ πŸ…ΏπŸ†„πŸ†‰πŸ†‰πŸ…»πŸ…΄πŸ†‚ Once again, the puzzles that YouEscape creates are innovative and challenging in the right way. There are never any red herrings, everything is given to you and the multi steps to solving the puzzles are written very clearly. The challenging part is how are you going to interpret the instructions and find the information required. In order to solve the puzzles, do remember to also check back onto Zoom as items on the tables can be your clues! More often than not, we were so immersed in digging down rabbit roles and exploring the web and being amazed on these new websites, that we can forget that there is also a live stream happening on another screen. The only thing that can be considered a 'weakness' in YouEscape games are that the puzzles are generally unrelated to the story and theme of the game you are playing. In this game, we decided to travel solo, but the puzzles generally lead us to certain famous literary characters, their names and history and ciphers that appear suddenly. However, if you do not mind puzzles that are similar to puzzle hunts and do not really focus on a narrative, puzzle lovers will definitely have a blast playing You Escape games. πŸ…²πŸ…»πŸ…ΎπŸ†‚πŸ…ΈπŸ…½πŸ…Ά πŸ†ƒπŸ…·πŸ…ΎπŸ†„πŸ…ΆπŸ…·πŸ†ƒπŸ†‚ Once again, after playing YouEscape's second game, I find myself wanting more. Since I am more of a puzzle lover than a narrative person, I didn't really bother about the story but rather how well the puzzles were executed. I will reiterate my feeling once more - in that if YouEscape can make all of their games into a subscription box, I will definitely hop on the wagon. They can always think of new ways to create their puzzles (this time, there weren't any scientific cool effects), but you will be amazed by what they can think of with very basic props. They ultimately turned into a meta puzzle! Wow. Truly amazing and it is a game/subscription that I wholeheartedly recommend for puzzle lovers!
